I suspect it could cause widespread trouble, if it were ever actually proven to have a basis beyond gossip. It's the sort of thing society turns a blind eye to, as long as it doesn't become undeniable. Or as long as the monarch isn't looking for an excuse. And historically speaking, it's generally more accepted for men than women. As long as it's not homosexual, because then it's a crime against god and you get in lots of trouble (again, historically speaking rather than personal views).

As is, because Mathilde and Heidi aren't actually doing anything, the worst it can do is be scandalous without being problematic.
The Cult don't have Strong anti-homosexual beliefs, and neither does the empire as a whole (barring assholes that are always around in some way.) among the lower classes. though the upper classes are expected to find an heir one way or the other.

There is a lot of stuff you can put on WFRP, but homophobic writing isn't one of them. (maybe the early stuff that I cant remember off the top of my head.)

It's just fanon that cult of Sigmar= bad parts of Christianity.

The cult of Ulric, Sigmar and part of Taal do have very plot-relevant issues with toxic masculinity and Misogyny among the priests, but that has always be depicted as a problem.

also, fair being fair, male priests of Shallya also tend to have a hard time of it. as the 'assumption' is that they can't be trusted among their peers, and are basically kicked out of the temples to be wandering priests until their 'too old' to get up to 'mischief.'

And as the Elector-Count of Reikland, it'll be the lower nobility that he'll spend most of his time dealing with.

Yeah, but he's going to be an intimidating figure for troublemakers regardless of magic status. Abelhelm shot one of his councilmembers for corruption; disappeared a pretty significant noble with Mathilde's help and effectively disintegrated an enormous trade network.

If anything Grey magic is good for showmanship and the Grey College has a focus on diplomacy which should help win over hearts and minds; but otherwise an Elector Count needs to be relatively though on the lower nobility. Well either that or take a page out of Dieter's playbook but that's not a sustainable long term strategy.

Mandred should be fully inducted into the Cult of Ranald and taught to wield His power, and taught to keep anyone else from finding out he has the capacity to do so.

2E doesn't have homophobic writing, but that's mainly because they literally never address anyone that isn't cisgender and heterosexual. I don't remember any mention of anything LGBT in all of those books I've read. Just dead silence. There are parts of the books that portray the SIgmarite Cult as ultra prudes, but that doesn't have anything to do with that unless one equates being LGBT with sexual activity.

dead silence is still better than what most people seem to assume though.

its the 1980s to 2000s, unless it was buffy, it could have been soooo much worse in how it was treated.

Or environmental, we get a lot of Apprentices out of Altdorf and some think it's something to do with the city itself, not just because the locals are familiar with us or because we're there to spot them."
Could this be something worth looking into, the waystone network affecting magic concentrations and Altdorf being a waystone nexus?

Thinking about it a bit, if Mandred is a Wizard and out of the running for Emperor, Roswita has a pretty good shot at it. The other two big options Mathilde names are Boris of Middenland and Wolfram of Ostermark. She can probably get the Sigmarite votes pretty easily, being both herself a prominent Sigmarite and not Boris the Ulric-bringer. She'd have a good shot at Reikland's vote if Heidi or Mathilde wanted to convince Mandred. Or, hell, even if they didn't; she has pretty positive views on wizards nowadays, and Mandred the wizard-knight might find that pretty compelling even if nobody helps convince him. That's a pretty sizeable bloc to start with, and that's before pointing out that Roswita's still unmarried and so could use that if she wanted.

I know many lesbians who still hold a grudge over "Seeing Red", so Buffy isn't exactly the greatest either.
fair, but my point was that, all factors being taken into account, Time, culture, UK rules of depiction in media, the US being a major buyer. etc etc.

I think dead silence was a .... better?... call than saying anything from Fantasy Flight Games and GW, then half-assing a topic that a lot of their peers were doing. (oh, god, I'm remembering first ed WOD and the killer (of woman) Buch-Lesbian biker Vampires...)

As they said, Wizard probably won't be emperor. I want my wizard Emperor. As the kids call it FULL SEND BABY

I'm really tempted to vote for Ranald, but Heidi is asking for our opinion; we're not making a decision.

EDIT: you know what, let's go big or go home.

I like this thematically, because of the possibility of Mathilde, the first Wizard Knight, teaching Mandred, the first Wizard Count. Or maybe Wizard Emperor but we'd need to put in too many actions so that's probably not a thing.
