Dwarf Loremasters have speculated that Laihtero is Law in its purest form and that it will not accept magic enchantments of any kind.
Well we're a Dwarf Loremaster...;)
The coffin itself was hidden beneath the Empire city of Praag, capital of Kislev. Her sword Laihtendrung was also made of Laihtero
.Hey! We're in Praag!
Don't assume 1st edition is worth anything.

And I'm pretty sure Boney said the Gods of Law aren't quest-canon (for now, at least)

Has a dragon ever had a pet cat, or is it just hairless apes?

Probably not. The kitties are on the opposite side of Ulthuan.

I meant that whether taking command would mean that leaders of the Knights would always communicate through intermediary or that we would get nominal higher authority to step in when needed and leave actual day-to-day communication to be direct. From second part of your answer eems like it's former, but would we still have any authority at all over Knights if we choose not to command them?

If Mathilde is in command of the Knights, then official communication would go through her. In either case day-to-day coordination will usually not involve Mathilde, it'd be based on signals and passing word through whoever's convenient. And no, if Mathilde isn't in charge of the Knights, she would have no authority over them.

Asarnil is a big boy and he can act as he sees fit since he does have centuries of experience as the Chaos wasteland is place where you have to adapt swiftly without waiting on orders.
We have to keep an eye out on any wizards miscasting something we really need to act fast on using the belt due to how strong the Winds are here and in battle too.

top tier. but on the lower bracket of that tier. (if that makes sense.)

the Coin is EX-Tier: the most powerful of what we have: unless I'm forgetting something its Ranalds version of the Grail or Gal Marz and khaine sword etc. not... as wow as them, but its still the most powerful artefact of a god.

Branulhune is S-tier: in the same tier as the Runeblades, Sword of Couronne, Fearfrost etc. but if you compare it to its peers it falls kind of short. that doesn't undermine Branulhume, its just that its peers are nasty. but the fact that it can be compared to those monsters shows how strong it is.
Bit late but did you forget the resurrection seed?

It also puts us in the position to assume complete control of Borek breaks
It also makes us doing so seem especially sus to anyone here that doesn't already trust us. Especially if the thing that made us decide to do so is murky and not quite transparent from the outside.
Got it. He definitely wa
If it happens in a chokepoint, then the giant metal behemoth has right of way.
Would they even be able to get out of the way? Because they definitely can't outrun our wagons even if they turn around and run in fron of us until the choke point is over.

Then again, I may have momentarily forgotten that High Pass is an ancient Dwarven highway, not a medieval human mountain pass. So I guess we're okay.

While I think Mathield is capable of leading them all, I simply don't want her to have the responsibility in story. Would rather her focus on the wizards and freedom while acting on the Ice Witches favour.

Your votes are different yet mean only wizards.

We are paying Asarnil to be here right? And we were basically in command of him during the Sylvanian campaign right?

If so, then I dont see why we cant just go back to old command structures. The Knights should command themselves, since they really have too many members, and probably know where they can be used best.

I'm torn. On the one hand I want a knight and fellow human on the war council. On the other having a bunch of knights follow us at will on excursions (like when we have to capture that Ice Witch artefact or whatever it was) would come mightily handy. As would both being able to do punitive raids and aggressive reconnaissance based on our judgement, seeing how Borek might be clueless about when to do so while the knights on their own might be too eager and take fights we have no reason to because "filthy Chaos worshippers".

Either way I think we should have Asarnil under our purview. As an independent agent of great power handling him is the same type of task as handling a Wizard, speaking from a purely logistical perspective.

I'll hold my vote for now.

Considering that they wagons are named after all the leaders in the great war against Chaos, and that 1 dragon, except for Teclis? yeah I don't think that dawi and asur should be in the same room. Also, one of the longterm goals of this operation is to further increase Imperial-Dawi relations no? so let the knights and dawi work together.
Also also, in the horible case we die or are otherwise incapicitated, it would be bad for the entire expedition in they dwarf and human leaders are not really used to working together. keep the Greater Good in mind so to say, and hope for the best but plan for the worst

What is a cat but small dragon, and what is a dragon but a cat writ large?
Also, yes, Dragons do make for excellent turrets.

My family has a saying about cats. "The ancient Egyptians worshipped cats as gods; this is something cats have never forgotten". While I don't know Warhammer lore, I am pretty sure there is/has been at least one civilization that has worshipped dragons. At least dragons have the power to justify worshipping.

Asarnil has been a mercenary for a long time, he know how to play the game.
And letting the knightly orders in the council give more human voices who will oppose some of the suicidal options from the dwarfs (like not evacuating if a chaos horde is near).

Changing vote since the tie is between 2 others one and I still have the opinion on it.

Decided to go with this one. I don't think any of the other options are genuinely bad though. They all have pros and cons, whether I look at it in an IC goal oriented fashion or in a "what do I want to read" narrative one.

Controlling the knights would give us personal power and let us control a lot of the expedition's actions on the way there, but the benefit to the expedition proper might not outweigh the cost of our attention being divided. It also removes a fellow human from the council and reduces the interplay and character development of Dwarves getting used to having powerful monstrous cavalry.

Taking control of Asarnil is where I currently stand on the balance between his potential to disrupt harmony at the council and the value of his unique insights and experience. Knowing the style of this quest I speculate that this decision will almost ensure that he won't volunteer any cool info and instead only care about the jobs that involve him specifically. So it's a bit like closing a mystery box to get a safer benefit.

Could we bring some of our subordinates in the Council? After all Mathilde has basically provided half the expedition with her contacts.

Knights can deal, they're pretty independent forces and acting as go between for so many groups spread us thin.
Wizards and elves however, are best worked with a Dwarf Friend buffer in the middle

So doing a wiki walk I looked up van Horstmann, and how sure are we that we averted his betrayal and Changer of ways worship? Cause that shit all started cause Master Chanter Alric and his wife threw both him and his sister into a pit of snakes when they were kids, for some weird ass magical experiment. Revenge is a hell of a drug and I don't think that we have done anything to stop that from happening.
