But Pestilens? Those bastards are running around with biological warfare in a medieval fantasy setting. They'll fuck you up from a different country if given half a chance.
Except Eshin nearly destroyed Pestilens in the First Skaven Civil War, a thing the other Skaven Clans together couldn't do. The Eshin are by far the most terrifying Skaven Clan, except maybe Skryre (Morskittar engine anyone)

inevitably, you see a cat just as black as the obsidian one perched atop the idol's head, chewing it's happy way through what looks like a substantial slice of cured ham
A reminder to all cat owners out there. Cats absolutely love ham, but make sure you don't give them anything salted. Cats kidneys deal very poorly with salt, and they're hardwired to get most of their liquid from food, added to the fact that getting a cat to drink is a chore and a half.
Moral of the story. Don't give cats salted meat, and if they find somewhere they like to drink from, and it's hygenic and safe for them, let them.
"Deal," you finally respond, staring into the darkness and trying to figure out why your Magesight insists there's nothing out there.
Oof... Yeah, let's not rely on Magesight against Skaven.
Also, praise from a Skaven scout? We're officially Ninja now.

As mentioned they only gave the edge by assassinating top-level Pestilens leaders while being pressed by the entirety of Skavendom, their power is in surgical attacks not the sheer raw death tolls that biowarfare could do.

For example, Pestilens once depopulated the Empire by 70% of the population in the form of the Black Plague during the time of Mandred Skavenslayer.

As for the Assassin, I'm starting to worry if our interactions with him will end up with us adopting an Under-Clan and make them join the K8P Community:p

Library

Alright. Planning ahead for next turn, there are a few topics that we know are likely to come up.

Fungus
Fungus, Extensive Imperial - 100g

We know that the main elevator is "clogged up with mushrooms". That's a task for a learning advisor if I've ever seen one. Beyond that, we're gonna be underground and/or dealing with orcs a bunch, and fungus is common in both those circumstances.

I've cut back on this a bit, and decided to drop the Dwarven section instead of the Imperial one - the main user of this reference once the elevator is clear is probably going to be Panoramia, and I don't think she reads Dwarven.

Sword Training
Imperial Greatswording, Extensive/Esoteric Imperial -250g
Bretonnian Greatswording, Extensive Bretonnian - 100g

We want to be worthy of Kragg's sword once it arrives, which is why a ton of people are planning to do sword training with our dwarf priest buddy.

Boney has said that purchasing sword manuals will provide a bonus to training (not using) swords, and that Bretonnian is more or less understandable with a little effort. I chose Bretonnian over Dwarven because only a single small religious sect of dwarves use greatswords, so finding literature would probably be a longshot. Meanwhile, greatswords are very common with mounted combat in Bretonnia - and hey, we have a sweet shadowsteed, so knowing how to use swords on a horse is useful for us too.

Snake Juice
Aethyr - Extensive Imperial - 100g
The Warp - Extensive Imperial - 100g
The Warp - Extensive Dwarven - 100g

Following clarifications from BoneyM, I've adjusted this section to add bonuses to the topics that will apply to Snekjuice research. This distribution gives the same bonus as plan "Snakes and Swords", while spending 2 less College Favor.

Bonus
Romance Novels, Varied - 50g

Mathilde likes these. She should buy a couple.

Total Spending: 0 Favor, 800g

Here's my new, revamped Library plan, now that I'm awake again.

By way of a possibly forlorn plea not to spend around 10% of our remaining Dwarven Ingots on books this turn, but nonetheless a plea I have to make- here is some spending we can predict.

Future expected spending:
Four more Tower levels, 400gc
Equipping the five : 1,150gc
Call it four excavated rooms, 100gc
Fitting those out as a Vault, a Public Library, a Sekret Library etc: ???gc

Some possibly Interesting College classes available at 100gc each (Not that we've got time to do a lot of them)
[ ] Power Stones and their Creation
[ ] Wyrdstone (Warpstone) Containment
[ ] On the Education of Apprentices
[ ] Intrigue and Tradecraft.
[ ] Swords and Swordplay

Dwarven longarm or accurate pistol: another 100-200gc or so?

Now of course it's fine to spend some on books- particularly books with ongoing relevance.
But spending 200, 300, 350gc (!) or more every turn to chase a +4 to +7 bonus on one or maybe two action rolls isn't sustainable longer term.

Then, having spent that much, and depleted our reserve- might we miss out on some awesome options we didn't know about until they opened up- like the Tower options? We've near halved the size of our gambling haul already.
There is no actual Grey College pressure on us to spend the money quickly.

Please consider the medium term budget when making your purchase votes.
Please, do cast purchase votes, even (especially!) if you don't want to purchase anything.

Thankyou for your attention. :)

Mathilde's been about riding horses and using swords for a long time. She's even got a big bonus to doing the two together. The Bretonnians are the best at mounted combat, so it's only logical that she goes for it.

The thematic argument doesn't make much sense either, not for this. Library books are just library books, they don't make an actual statement about who Mathilde is. By this logic, we shouldn't grab any books from anywhere that we haven't been heavily involved in, which is nonsense.
And of course someone feels compelled to argue this point.

It's absolutely different in terms of applications because how Mathilde rides and fights while riding only pays lip service to horseback riding. She is explicitly partially merged with the shadow steed and fights more like something resembling a centaur/centigor where the horse half can shift some of its form and height around at will. Conventional horseback positioning need not particularly apply and there is a reason our skill at actual horsemanship is mediocre at best. The fact you're trying to argue the point I didn't give a rats ass about anyways is neither here nor there.

And the book logic is faulty to begin with. Traits and capital S Skills are character defining in some way, the very thing we'd be getting those books to learn about qualifies. You don't see us buying books on Magnus to explore Avatar.

All of the tower choices are amazing, but it's time for snake juice.
And I do think we need a rifle. Not right this moment, but it's definitely something for the mid term, and we're currently flush on cash.
Some, as it is the symbol of the Order. But they went for more conveniently-sized swords.
Smolest wizard, biggest sword.
You know who has the hearing, nose and whiskers to learn Queekish? Wolf
That is actually a really good idea. I mean, takeing him there is a bitch and a half. We'd probably need to capture a few (Skaven slaves wouldn't put up any resistance against us learning).

That said, I'm not sure how we'd make use of it.

I mean, WOG has it it would be possible. Maybe. If you can break the grip of the Horned Rat. And keep them from being murdered by Skaven as traitors. Or by dwarfs as Skaven. Or by each other. Or the spiders.

But if we can do all that, we'll have a clan of assassins! Or maybe we should just train our spiderfriends in the hug of death.

Huh. That might be an interesting idea.
Missing the point and such a divergent perspective it would be almost entirely pointless. To say nothing of the fact I doubt there have been particularly thorough treatises on how Magnus pretty much mantled the entire Imperial Pantheon at once in favor of biographies lionizing him.

The Tower of Writing Papers Good is pretty sweet, but ultimately those free actions will only ever mean a steady source of College favours. Which is great, but not as good as just "an extra action". I'd be up for getting it in the future, but for now the boost to general studying is better.

Our library is a cool resource, but I agree that spending 100G+ on small boosts to probably 1 or 2 actions isn't sustainable.

As for Kragg, I refuse to believe that he'd be offering us a choice if any of the options were strictly superior to the others, out of professional pride. Either they'll all have his S10 rune - which is likely, since it's pretty amazing, and synergistic with all the options to some degree - or they'll have some alternative that's genuinely just as good. As such it's best to give an honest answer instead of angling for a specific rune, and my honest answer is that the best stabbing happens from behind.

Next turn get Johann to work with the We to teach them to bring back Skaven tech/prisoners where possible, for extra/more tasty food?
Don't know how well we could teach them to pick out important Skaven, but they seem well-designed in taking down food alive, so we can assess their catch every time and see if there's anything good.

One thing to consider is that if Mathilde needs some cash, she can go and beat up some orcs or skaven for their lunch money as part of a scouting action.

We beat up Skaven and took their money this turn.

(Skaven money is chips of warpstone).

Shopping

There's a bunch of things we can buy with gold that'd let us do stuff better, and we have a very large amount of gold. Best to buy the stuff now so we'll have it available next turn. I'll be borrowing from WFRP 2nd Edition since BoneyM uses it as a source, so most of the stuff here we can probably buy, and as I don't know how much this'll cost in Divided Loyalties I'll attach the price and availability listed in the RPG where relevant.

Draughts
Feyeyes (Average, 25s)

Draughts are basically potions that you don't need magic to make. Feyeyes gives +5% perception for 1d10 hours, and during that time you can't sleep. Good for any scouting missions we want to undertake, and at 25 silver - not even gold - it's pretty cheap.

Oddities
Antitoxin Kit (Scarce, 3gc)

With Eshin running around it's probably best not to take too many chances. An antitoxin kit will make it more likely we can save someone's life if they get poisoned, maybe us. Should work on warpstone poisons too given that live leaches are part of the antitoxin kit (that's Warhammer for ya).

Companion and Specialty Animals
Cats (Plentiful, 1s)
Homing Pigeons (Average, 1 gc)

Skaven are around, and more worringly Eshin is among them, so importing cats to ward them off would probably be prudent. They'd also help keep the vermin population down. If Dwarf Fortress is anything to go by the dawi will likely accept them. Homing pigeons are "favoured by spies and other shadowy types" which sounds a fair bit like us, though in all honesty the big advantage of them for us is the convenience. Now if we want to send messages to people far away (including people on the other side of a valley or mountain), we can do so without having to go do it ourselves.

Adventurers

Controversial suggestion here, but hiring some random adventurers to do stuff for us in exchange for cash would be very damn convenient. Kvinn-Wyr, Karag Mhonar, Karagril (greenskin side), and the deeps of Karag Lhune all need to be investigated and can all be investigated by adventurers. That's four actions saved right there, and all it'd take from us is a bit of cash. Sure they're less likely to succeed than if we went ourselves, but it costs us nothing if they fail and we have other things we could be doing, so why not?

...Skaven Warpstone shards and goblin mushrooms?
Even if they had actual valuables, Spending a very valuable action, to get a random amount of such 'valuables', to plow back into small bonuses to actions, or recoup amounts spent on small bonuses to actions...
doesn't seem very efficient.
