Gamers2312's Victor "Frankenstein" Shelly for Earth 27
Ooh, we're doing character creation omakes? Sign me up!
Earth 27: Victor "Frankenstein" Shelley (Heroic by nature but not a Hero, Modern Era)

There are far too many stories about "Mad Scientists" creating (or heavens forbid, becoming) monsters that go on to do horrible things and make the world even more chaotic than it already is. Why can't we have more tales of "Inspired Geniuses" creating the next great step in their respective fields, towards a better future for everyone? ... If no one else will step forward, I will create the path myself.

There are those born with talents that allow them to lift buildings, run from one side of a continent to the other in mere minutes, endure suffering beyond what most would deem even "survivable"- and there are those whose minds are made to create great works, technology, wonders that normal people could only dream of. Victor Shelley was one of those latter beings, a true natural genius. (Parahuman Learning) He was even decently personable, or at least enough so as to not immediately anger or unnerve those in his presence, save those already disposed to negative responses towards him for one reason or another. (Moderate Diplomacy) He had his faults, certainly. He was no great fighter or athlete, and he didn't even attempt to be subtle- to do so would be entirely anathema to his life goal of making "Para"tech more accessible to the common man, for the benefit of society. (Mediocre Martial, Abysmal Intrigue)

But the one thing that set him apart from most "Mad Scientists"? The thing that let him succeed in markets that drove others to despair? He was damn good at making his work profitable. (High, but not quite Superhuman Stewardship)

Oh? What was his preferred field of Parascience, you ask? Biomedical Engineering, of course- taking samples of DNA from other Natural Parahumans and isolating the parts of their genetic structure that gave them their powers, or at least pieces thereof. He couldn't replicate such things wholesale, (that would require amoral experimentation and implementation methods which are NOT HIS THING,) but creating regeneration treatments for those lacking limbs? Cognitive Boosters for the mentally impaired? Non-harmful steroids for those with unusually frail bodies? These, he could do. The nickname "Frankenstein" was a bit insulting, (HE DIDN'T CREATE MONSTERS, DAMMIT!) but that was a secondary concern at best.

He was creating the legacy of a true "Inspired Genius", and that was enough for him.

Stat Breakdown; Martial 6, Diplomacy 12, Stewardship 15, Intrigue 2, Learning 24
Character Motivation; Give Intellect-based Parahumans a better name.
Parahuman Ability; Superhuman capacity for understanding and implementation of Genetics and Biomedical Engineering.

EDIT; Added numerical values for stats.

I repeat that we need actions for

1) Ivo
2) Carol
3) Pamela

1) Ivo can go for either A.M.A.Z.O or improve weapon (improve weapons is high synergy for stuff we want to do) It is OK if you want to push A.M.A.Z.O but I suggest to vote for improving weapons, too. Because if both get votes Ivo works on A.M.A.Z.O, weapon work with no hero, but if there will be no learning action at all, Ivo will be very wasted.
2) Carol needs aircraft related stuff do both be effective and do things she is happy about raising coop score with Luthor. There are "Design and produce self-flying planes" action that already has some votes, research planes work as an auxiliary for that (and even backup for Ivo\Pamela). Yes, we can put Carol on non-plane action with little harm but it may make her unhappy and we are very interested in raising her cooperation score.
3) We can use Pamela for diplomatic action, we can even pair her with Luthor for investigation. But we need to let her doing "green" stuff. I see that many are voting for "go green". Problem is that it is a stewardship action and because of this it doesn't fit Pamela who has 2 in this stat. It is also a moderately high DC action and failing it may actually annoy Pamela. Research botany is a good intermediate step toward go green and will let Pamela to do something that she both good in and enjoys

Unrelated:

Learn about magic is fun and everything, but can't it wait a turn or two, please? 1) There are no pressing need for this. 2)It will tie a hero who can be used on other more impactful projects 3)Its DC is rather huge

I agree with every word you said, that is why I took several votes to be similar to yours, even if I have a bit of a different idea in mind, but only slightly.

@King crimson I think it would be better to combine vote actions and Hero actions. Like Ex:
Luthor: Reach out to the DEO
Mercy: Investigate
Ivo: Amazo
Pamela: Equip forces with armor
Carol: Make spy drones
non-hero action: anything else
Yes it is similar to plan votes but I think this is much easier to manage and more people will be more agreeable if there is structured voting.

Not a good idea. You are basically forcing one hero one action here and\or create total chaos in vote count creating situations like

Luthor action A - 10 votes
Luthor action B - 8 votes
Luthor + Mercy - action B 11 votes
Mercy - action A 10 votes
Pamela - action C 11 votes
Luthor + Pamela + Mercy Action C 14 votes

Who goes where now?

Also, you are removing a fun step of allocating heroes.

People just need to be a little more strategic about their votes and think beyond 9 action plan I want. Before voting one needs to keep in mind our heroes and their strength, make balanced proposals instead of sets of actions focused on one thing, pay attention to DC, etc. And, most importantly, discuss with others.

Inserted tally

The case against research magic (yes, I tend to attack options I really dislike. Please, don't take it personally if you are voting for magic)

1. It is 65 DC action. This is a lot. It is 2\3 chance of failure unassisted
2. But we have a hero who works great with it, right? Rebecca is a magician, yes. Her learning is 14. This means that we are still looking at 50% chance to outright fail. Also, Rebecca is very versatile and can help in a number of different actions
3. Can't we can assign Luthor or some other genius to help her. Not really. We want Luthor focusing on war-related matters, others don't have a high enough coop score with Rebecca. Even if we go for Luthor+Rebecca (+43 to roll) we still have a 21% chance to fail
4. 21% chance to fail doesn't sound that bad, doesn't it? It is magic we are talking about, failures can be very nasty. Furthermore, failure in Luthor + Rebecca action = hit to cooperation score when we are so close to 1.0 cooperation

Do you want magic? Good. We'll use it against one annoying guy in a stupid blue-red costume later. Just don't rush it. Pair Rebecca with Pamela on botany to get insights in magical plants. Assign Rebecca to weapons to make magically enchanted guns. Go for Luthor+Carel+Rebecca to make a magically enchanted personal aircraft for Lex. This kind of stuff.

I considered it but it can make things a little complicated on my end (if Luthor is assigned to an action and Mercy is assigned to an action it splits the votes for that action making it harder to see if the action would get voted in or not (I'd have to manually add things up and I want to cut down on points where I personally can make errors)). Furthermore the hero vote phase will in the future be where you attempt to use things like the pheromone spray and teaming up with Talia. It sucks that occasionally the voting format can leave you unable to do what you want but I greatly appreciate the hero vote step as it allows me to glean an extra layer of specificity from the thread while also allowing for chaos and upsets in the action vote (while not making it too difficult for me to figure out what won).

Fair enough

DC 58 Too many mysteries have cropped up around you that you can't solve due to constantly having to put out fires. Hiring a private investigator to personally look into these things will ease off the workload from you and will allow you to make more informed decisions.

I think this is a must because... we need more hands and eyes?

@King crimson what about Angor/Earth 8 in canon aka the knockoff version of Marvel?

dc.fandom.com

Angor

Angor's resident superhero team, the Assemblers, were too wrapped up in their own fame to really protect Angor from any serious threats. There was a nuclear holocaust caused by a terrorist group of supervillains called the Extremists, whi Angor is a distant planet that is home to the Assemblers...

Earth 12

Reality names were reused several times. See also Earth-12, Earth-Twelve. Earth 12 is one of the worlds of the Multiverse after Flashpoint. Several decades into the future relative to Prime Earth, Earth 12 is home to Terry McGinnis, Bruce Wayne's young successor as Batman and the defender of...

[X] Sell close to home

We have an advantage is this turn as the War on Terror begins and the Pentagon scrambles to get the biggest edge they can. That's where we step in.

[X] Design and produce self-flying planes

Might as well create these in time for the big push to sell our defence equipment. What War on Terror would it be without them?

[X] Hire more LexCorp security forces

We need more goons to replace our losses and then some.

[X] Work with the Government

Any ally will be great in this war, and none are better than good old US of A. Didn't expect we would start the War on Terror this early, but I guess 9/11 in OTL form wouldn't work with the likes of Superman (unless he was busy with another crisis).

[X] Equip your forces with improved armor

They need more protection. Plus this is the first step to mass production.

[X] Improve weapons

We need to be three steps ahead of the Demon's Head.

[X] Donate to the public

Help the public in their hour of need, upstanding citizen we are.

[X] Investigate Sasha Glynul

Let's see what this lead turns up.

[X] Create a construction company

While the city is still in ruins the market has the most pressing need for "defensively-minded" buildings and to captalise, on the PR side we need to act while this is fresh in everyone's minds and grabbing headlines. If not this turn then the next.

Didn't really feel there was much I could do with knock off marvel and I don't think having a world that is pretty much "earth 1 but in the future" is very interesting. As such these are not part of the 52 Earth's of this quest (I'm also not using the new 52 multiverse)

I once again advocate skipping A.M.A.Z.O. for one turn and not voting for it. Improve weapons is a good job for a good old Ivo, we need weapons and weapons have good support. So if anyone is voting for A.M.A.Z.O. to not waste Ivo, I suggest going for weapons instead. With your support it is guaranteed to be in top 9

Shouldn't we consider hiring a P.I. so that we could do the investigation actions every turn instead of dedicating an action to doing such? Anything that might allow us to automate some actions or increase the amount we can do in a turn is quite valuable.

We get a new advancement in Robotics/general technology every time that Ives works on AMAZO though. We got the flight repulsion tech as a result of his studying after all. Plus, since we haven't done anything to save or prolong Ives' life, he could get a Nat 1 for fighting it and straight up die.

If we really want weapons research, we got 7 other Hero Units. Sure, they aren't all super-geniuses, but they'll each bring their own approach. For example, I'm curious what the thrill-seeking Roxanne would consider appropriate weaponry.
