[X] Late morning.
-[X] GOOD MORNING, ASUNARO!
-[X] Check up on Hijiri.
-[X] Arrange a meeting with Kyouko.

Kyouko doesn't really take the bombs well. Yuma manages, but it's still a pretty questionable decision in general IMO. :/
How bad does she take them? I remember Kyouko being the most stable of the lot after the bombs. Brushing aside the suicide. :/

I really would like to contact Fukushima and the University group to discuss future groups to travel to. We don't have to actually do the trip today, just gather some info.
We did arrange with Yuki to meet in the weeked and share contact list info, I think.

EDIT: How about, after talking with Kyouko, while Mami's at school, we fly over to Fukushima?

Then we can talk with her about contact sharing, about how she feels it's best to imprison Riona, about getting therapists for the prisoners, and we can finally pay Anri a visit. She's been cooped up for two whole days.

  • [X] Explain Sayaka to Homura, using this post as a knowledge base.
-[X] Her personal character: who she is, what her central characteristics are, etc.
-[X] Her actions: why she has done what she has done in the past.
-[X] Her present actions: why she's doing what she is doing now.
-[X] Answer, as possible, any questions Homura may have, as they develop -- this is a talk, not a speech. If there's something the knowledge base isn't equipped for, break.
-[X] Slip in compliments towards Sayaka wherever possible. These topics are going to be pretty negative, but... Sayaka's a good person and friend, who would absolutely have jumped at the chance to help Homura if she'd only ever really known the way you do.
-[X] Explain that this is why you're so positive about telling Sayaka about the loops, but reiterate that you're never going to press Homura over it.
    [X] Brinapilot the details. Explain:
-[X] Sayaka is normal. Normal teenagers:
    --[X] Have problems.
    --[X] Make mistakes.
--[X] Are sheltered from the consequences of their actions.
-[X] Go over the facets of Sayaka's character that cause Homura so much trouble:
--[X] *Low self-esteem; self-sacrifice; first impressions; shaky, rigid moral worldview; etc...
--[X] How normal they are, small and inconsequential if Sayaka was allowed a normal life.
    -[X] Kyuubey:
--[X] Cuts Magical Girls off their support network.
--[X] Forces them into situations made to break them.
--[X] Turns common teen problems into fatal flaws.
-[X] We're creating a support network for everybody.
--[X] We've given Sayaka back the support she, everyone, deserves, and helped her overcome her biases. Everything else is just Sayaka being Sayaka.
[X] Thank Homura for the effort.
    [X] Raid:
-[X] Ask to vent a bit. You trust Homu to hear you out.
--[X] Talk about your frustrations, recurring problems and fears about helping magical girls, and dealing with secrets.
    --[X] Don't overwhelm her.
-[X] Lighten up. Geek out about whichever weapons you find.
    [X] After the raid...
-[X] Hug Mami and see the others off to school.
    -[X] Meet with Oriko.
    --[X] Privacy Device.
    --[X] Tell O&K they're your friends.
--[X] Discuss the potentialbomb and Homura's reaction.
-[X] Use griefhax to examine the feather.
[x] Answer Homura's implicit request: Do your best to help her understand Miki Sayaka.
-[x] Provide some basic background on how people work. They are complicated. This will be less of a hard explanation and more of your guesses and impressions.
-[x] Key points of the blueberry's character: Self-esteem problems, strong moral views, stubborn, makes snap judgements, young.
-[x] Explain particular behaviors in terms of these keys points. Support with examples when appropriate.
--[x] Unshakable loyalty: Decides that you look friendly therefore you are a friend and will always be a friend. Misbehavior is justified or ignored.
--[x] Judgemental: Decides that you look like you're doing something bad so you're bad and you'll always be bad. Good behavior is dismissed as temporary or circumstantial.
--[x] Low survival rate: Low self-worth fails to oppose strong moral view and stubbornness so she follows through on radical moral decisions stemming from an image of Magical Girls as Doing Good.
--[x] Her first impressions inform the majority of her opinion of a person and her first impressions aren't very deep or complex.
--[x] Hero of Justice: Low self-esteem makes her apply her stubbornness and moral compass to the task of being more like Mami and Madoka.
-[x] Explain Sayaka's relationships with other people.
--[x] Madoka: BFF. Sayaka treasures Madoka and holds her opinion in high regard.
--[x] Mami: Greatly Respected Hero of Justice. Usually forms Sayaka's image of magical girls as being heroes of justice; feeds her self-worth issues by being so much better at everything.
--[x] Kyubey: Makes a good first impression by pandering to magical girl anime memes then mooches off Mami's hero of justice image.
-[x] Note specific things that helped this time around, framing them in the context of the model you presented above.
--[x] MAJOR POINT: Kyubey very visibly and definitely hurt Mami. This, along with the lichbomb, was enough to break Sayaka's original judgement of him as "Mami's Best Friend and Magical Girl Mascot".
--[x] You presented an image that caused her to Judge you as Good. Once she does that it is very hard to change her mind. She does not have complex views:
--[x] You engage with her using strong moral arguments. Leaving Oriko and Kirika alive, for example, was because you do not kill people. Sayaka respects these kinds of Hero of Justice arguments.
--[x] You attempted to specifically help her with her self-esteem issues. You botched it, obviously, but not as badly as you could have.
    [X] Homura:
-[X] Playfully chide her for treating Sayaka like a tool.
-[X] Explain that Sayaka is a mostly ordinary teenage girl, with mostly ordinary teenage reactions - exactly the sort of thing that QB preys on.
-[X] We just put Sayaka in a fairer situation, and pushed her to overcome her initial biases. The rest was always just Sayaka being Sayaka.
    [X] During the raid.
-[X] Ask to vent a bit. You trust Homura to hear you out.
    [X] Respond to Homura:
    -[X] Kaizuki's giant thing :V :V :V

that sounds fine too, though i feel like you're trying to cram quite a lot of activities into the early morning. maybe if we tried doing things like baking muffins by multitasking w/ grief cloud we'd have enough time? it'd certainly raise efficiency. early morning is usually just dedicated to routine, i feel, so if we're trying to squeeze more time out of it we'll need to start using our powers.

[X] If Mami is still acting like this is the morning, comment positively on it.
-[X] Stumble through blushingly admitting that you really like it when she's being confident and/or passionate.
-[X] Kiss her on the cheek.
[X] Make sure to take into account that you'll probably be up early. Don't, e.g., call Nagisa at 6:00 AM.
[X] Nagisa
-[X] What's she been doing?
-[X] Mention Yuma's existence. They're about the same age? Leave out the ugly parts.
[X] Sayaka
-[X] Don't wake her up early.
-[X] Did she make a decision yet? If not, that's completely fine.
--[X] If she's decided she wants to know: she should send a clone to school. You'll meet her after.
[X] "Shopping" with Homura. When? Do it.
I don't like this part. This isn't our decision, the only one who should be able to decide when to witchbomb Sayaka is Sayaka herself. I'd prefer it if it were something along the lines of:

--[ ] If she's decided she wants to know, ask her when we should meet her.

Yeah, I got the feeling I was putting in too many things.

... It's just that there's so many things to do, and we're probably gonna wake up early, so... >_>

Edited, though.

BTW, since this is a long time coming, @Firnagzen, you said this was around the time you wanted timeskips to happen, right?

How's this gonna work? Sabrina's schedule's still following the pattern of getting busier and busier each day; there's a lot of people we need to meet up with, and each meeting will be delicate enough to be considered important... and that would mean keeping going at the pace we've been going, wouldn't it? Hard to skip time when we're not skipping time. :p

Is it time to start glossing over details, picking which events can use more attention, and which Sabrina should be able to handle on autopilot? Or should we actively, as players, vote to delegate important matters? Eg., we can bring the Hitomiparents into the magic world, then let them handle the rest; we could talk with Yuki and whoever about getting therapists for the prisoners, and let somebody else handle it afterwards, etc.

Concerning Yuma:

"Hey Yuma! Did you know that if you push your magic into someone else's magic it's favored by your emotions so they know exactly how you feel about them?"

:V

NEWS TO ME. You sure about that? Cuz as far as I know, we tried to say that once, ended up not doing it, and I've been hauling around a sign saying "Remember that we need to do this" ever since.
I don't think we've been telling her as an ongoing thing, but there was this during Team Oh God They're Gonna Shoot Us versus Team Oh Yes We're Gonna Shoot You.
"I'm not going anywhere. But... Mami, I liked it when you started lecturing me. I like it when you sass me back. OK? Leaving you over that is the last thing I would do."
I'm also not sure about setting Yuma and Nagisa up on a playdate. On Nagisa's end, "you're both the same age" is a pretty terrible reason to expect two people to get along and is usually employed by parents who want to meet another parent for their own reasons but also want to pretend that their kids were a factor in the decision. That doesn't mean it's a bad idea, you just need to give her better justification. On Yuma's end, I don't think it would be healthy for her to have a friend that she has to hide her entire life from. This, I think, might make it a bad idea. Yuma's entire life at this point is being a magical girl. She doesn't go to school, and her family is another full time magical girl who saved her from a monster (and also a Witch). She even gets food and shelter with magic. And Nagisa isn't allowed to know about any of that. That's not fair to either of them.

I think we should tell Nagisa about magical girls first if we want her to meet Yuma, and before that I think we should run the whole plan past Shin.

Absolutely not. Morning cooking is a Mami activity and may not be automated under any circumstances.

Oh, I had missed this:
NEWS TO ME. You sure about that? Cuz as far as I know, we tried to say that once, ended up not doing it, and I've been hauling around a sign saying "Remember that we need to do this" ever since.

I'm fairly certain we've been supporting Mami on being more confident in herself. Besides what Torg quoted, there's at least this from a quick CTRL+F search:
Mami beams at you for a moment, before it melts into uncertainty. "You're- you're alright with that, right, Sabrina?"

You smile warmly at her, taking a moment to cuddle the chibi-Mami for emphasis. "Yes," you say. "I am. I- Mami, it's good to see you confident and taking charge. So..." You offer her an upraised palm for a high five. "Let's all have a good spar?"

She smiles softly, and then leans up to brush a gentle, careful kiss against your cheek.

... you definitely do not squeak and blush a bright, flaming red, staring at Mami with huge eyes. She does, on the other hand, laugh, blushing just as hard as you definitely aren't, and curl up against your side. You wrap your arm around her, closing your eyes and sighing happily, savouring the closeness and the warmth.
We absolutely do about these particular things.
o_O Kai, you literally cut out the part where I addressed exactly what you quoted, in the very same paragrapth you quoted me. Plus, I said 'usually' for a reason.
Right now, Mami dropped the kiss with pinpoint precision at the best possible time, so it makes sense for Sabrina to react like she did, but 'Stumble through blushingly admitting...' is more like cute omake shitposting material; Sabrina doesn't usually do the whole blushing schoolgirl thing.
And I mantain it. Sabrina gives hugs and kisses and sometimes blushes, but she's generally very mature for her apparent age.

In omakes? Yeah, Sabrina can blush like an anime schoolgirl, but in actual PMAS, it doesn't mesh with the character I've seen Firn write. It's a difficult thing to point out, the absence of something, but Brina delivers the hugs and kisses and sappy quotes, and she's usually straight faced and cool about it. To put it this way, I've felt plenty of times Firn could've have had Sabrina react more timidly to things, but Brina just rolled on.

I'm not trying to attack you, if this offends you? The 'Stumble through blushingly admitting' thing I really feel can't happen with complete honesty in Sabrina's part. She can and I'm pretty sure has told Mami just that more than twice.

And there you go. All non-Mami-related activities are nonessential, and therefore can be automated.

Thank you, Torgamous, for bringing clarity and pointing out the most obvious course of action. :V

I think that if Firnagzen ever gets around time skips, they wouldn't be unlike that shopping trip with a number of highlights instead of the usual uninterrupted narration. Eh, no skin off my back.

If we take the shopping trip with Homumom this next morning... we've already done this once, so the repeated details would be glossed over?

Meanwhile, if Homura wants to talk about anything, that would merits detail.

[Q] From now on, everything that's not fluffiness or important talk with Mami, Homura, or any of Sabrina's other friends, is to be glossed over.

Many updates later:

"This is an intervention."

"Why? What happened?"

"Sabrina, you've been... spacing out."

"Really?"

"Yes, you've been doing nothing but cuddle Mami, give everyone hugs and space out all day. You haven't even met any of the last thirteen refuges we've got, you ignored your appointments with Hitomi's parents, Yuki, and a talk with Kyouko, and generally have only been paying attention to Mami who, by the way, seems really happy with this change of pace."

*Cuddles Sabrina*

*Cuddles Mami*

"See?"

"Wait a second... I thougt I was timeskipping! Do you mean I was actually not doing anything?!"

"That's what I said."

"Oh my Madoka..."

"Yeah, and you've been murmuring strange things. But I mean, where you trying to timeskip through your life? Like a video game? Really?"

"... It worked that saturday we went shopping for clothes."

"... I don't know what's worse, that you've actually successfully had timeskips in your life, or that I'm not surprised."

*Hugs Sayaka*

*Grumbles but hugs Sabrina*

"Weirdo."

"... By the way, if I haven't been taking care of everything, and Mami has been hugging me, who's been taking care of all the things? You?"

"... We've had to improvise."

A group of meguca sit atop really, really high chairs in a semi circle, flanked by other meguca, all in a humongous room.

"THE TOKYO COUNCIL WILL HEAR YOUR PLEA."

On the floor, in the middle of the semicircle, stand Homura and Oriko.

Oriko tilts her head at Homura and makes to speak.

Homura glares at Oriko.

Oriko steps back ever so slightly.

Homura glares at everyone in the room.

A meguca sitting in the middle of the circle repeats:

"... THE TOKYO COUNCIL WILL HEAR YOUR PLEA."

...

"THE TOKYO COUNCIL-"

"Lunch break!" yells Ueda Noa.

"You're not in charge-"

"Lunch break before L'Oreal hair kills us all!"

Everyone, who until that point was subtly pretending to listen while doing other things, like their nails, actually look at Homura.

Homura glares bloody murder at the sheer indignacy of standing under the eyes of a bunch of uppity meguca besides Mikuni Oriko.

A loud rush of scrapping chairs later, the room stands completely deserted, except for Homura and Oriko.

"Well..." the ex-Seer murmurs, not looking at her impromptu partner, "I think we can count this as first blood to us."

Homura's eye starts to twitch.

"... But at least Homura seemed optimistic! ... Sabrina?"

*Hugs Mami with eyes glossed over*

"Son of a b-"

I wrote a reply here, but really...

You like it when she talks like that. She was passionate and happy and confident, a far cry from the Mami you know and more like the Mami she wants to be.

You... you do like it, and you open your mouth to say so-

And you choke yourself off, fighting back the blush that's already making its way onto your face.

I think that's all there is to be said, here.

And you choke yourself off, fighting back the blush that's already making its way onto your face. Too soon. Too soon, when just last night she was sobbing into your arms because she was terrified you'd leave her. She... Whatever her feelings towards you, you don't want to pressure her.

Not that way, not in a way that could be taken as flirting.
I think that's all there is to be said, here.
The rest of the paragraph you quoted says more than you say is all there is to be said. That's a summary of a serious argument that happened in the thread, and the choking herself off is an anthropomorphization of what the voters collectively did.

What we would be doing in your vote is more like the second try, later in that same update. Not because it can't be seen as flirting, but because that's no longer a concern.

Please just leave the delivery to Brinapilot.

We still haven't gotten in touch with Niko about Rionna or science stuff; we should really consider doing that prior to falling asleep or right after we wake up, since she keeps odd hours anyway.

IIRC, the vote to encourage Mami almost went through, but then pulled back, Sabrina reflected this, and Mami felt really bad about it?

I think that was the point we decided to full steam ahead support Mami.

Also, jokes about Sabrina liking Mami sassing her. :V

So, I'm thinking that maybe the issue with lacking guidance is...

Well, we know that grief can't normally exist outside of a soul. We know that Sabrina's control over grief is keyed to her soul gem control radius.

Hypothesis: Grief isn't an independent thing, it's a property of souls. When Sabrina cleanses a soul gem, she isn't removing a specific substance from the soul, she is accessing that specific soul to change its state. Thus, the enchantment failed because we were trying to make something akin to "draw a square circle". Sabrina's senses and multitasking are able to figure out the 'soul address' on instinct, but an enchantment cannot do that.

Proposal: Create an enchantment to specifically transfer grief from Mami's soul gem.
If that's the case, then enchantment did the sake of a cleansing device is possibly a dead end, since each one has to be tailor made for each individual user.

[X] If Mami is still acting like this is the morning, comment positively on it.
