............................ What are the odds Riona gets the reference.

Perhaps we should totally explain we chose our name because of the powers we Wished for. Before she gets ideas. Specially if we tell her about possible being a de-Witched Witch.

Well then if that's what she wants then I was made by a wish probably won't cut it considering we've met another person made by a wish before, and her soul probably isn't strange like ours.

Yeah, I was thinking about that, but *we don't actually know why our soul is strange.*

Hijiri's soul clearly isn't -- QB would have noticed that... Although there's no guarantee we'd have gotten that information from him.

But what's our explanation for why our soul is strange?

"Well, Madokami wish made us."

So why is that different from Hijiri's?

"Madokami."

But why?

Yeah, point is, our understanding is sketchy and potentially wrong.

There's a huge difference between "I ain't got shit" and "Here's all the evidence that I can give you, there's more in that vein that I can't share, and even though it's probably wrong here's my best hypothesis".

If scientists waited to publish until they could prove they were right, we'd still be trying to figure out the precise balance of earth, air, fire, and water in different kinds of iron and plotting epicycles for the crystal spheres.

Well, Hijiri was specifically made to be a copy of Kanna, soul and all, minus a traumatic memory. Of course her soul would seem pretty normal, she was designed to be.

To put it in another way, it's basically saying 'magic was involved', to which I imagine Riona's answer will be 'no duh, stop jerking me around and explain already'.

I'm pretty sure we're gonna tell her about the amnesia, waking up half dead, etc.; that on its own does not a theory make.
Sure it does. We have no past, Kyubey confirms that our soul is brand new, we obviously popped into existence right before making our wish and the obvious explanation is that someone made a wish with this consequence. If she wants proof, well, tough. We told her our best guesses are just theories and she's just going to have to live with that.
Mad-Eye Moody, is that you as a magical girl?
She stepped into a magical field created by a someone of unknown powers, origins, and motivations. She clearly doesn't maintain CONSTANT VIGILANCE.

Meanwhile, if we look at Kazumi Subaru, she gets so much power, her Wish upgrades Kaoru's and Umika's.

Of course, she also had quite some connection bullshit going on...

... Would Riona notice if we check her Witch's name? ... And would that be a good thing, since it would make it clear we know the Witchbomb. Weird thought.
On that subject - do magical girls in general know that witches have names? Have we ever even mentioned it to anyone else? (other than Oriko, and in that case the name we mentioned was of Kirika's canon witch, which turned out to be incorrect IIRC)

The real point is, Sabrina's soul is likely strange even beyond the usual "created by a Wish" level.

We've been assuming that that was because it was a conglomerate of many souls, from either Walpurgis or the Witch of Despair, but honestly Rionnnnnnnna is in a better position to confirm that then we are.

Bestgirl Riona just gets more n's added in her name with the time. Soon an entire update will be needed just to get her name down.

Maybe use her weird Celtic surname?
Or just call her Soulguca in-between updates and leave Firn high and dry, desperately trying to claw his way out of the mess of his own creation? :V
( I don't really mean that. )
Still. I'd say Riona is a better choice, in my humble opinion.
Considering Rionna is just a derivation
Or we could run a vote poll for that
What, you've run a poll for figuring out how Witchy Sabrina is, we can manage a poll to figure out the allowable number of n's.

So I have a theory about Riona. Her power is about souls. Suppose she can see all souls. Not just magical girls souls, but regular people souls as well. Suppose she can not just see souls, but also everything that's awful in souls. She can see all the pettiness and malice and meanness in humanity. Ordinarily enough to destroy a magical girl, but perhaps she was something of a misanthrope anyway. Instead of being horrified, she takes a grim satisfaction in knowing she was right all along.

All I'm saying is, she bears the signs of someone who has taken a long, hard look at humanity and decided it's not worth very much. Does that change how to approach her? Not sure.

Now I kind of want her to meet Madoka so she can pull an Urobuchi and cry after seeing a genuinely saintly soul that sings the praises of humanity forever.

I don't think so. Wonder if Rionnnnnna can read Witch names...

... In which case, she might already know our Witch's name, and maybe have read the same name on our Ring.

... She's totally going to believe we're a Witch, isn't she?

By the way, Sabrina's reaction when seeing her Witch's name, is that fear at the sword of damocles standing over her Soul, or a traumatic reaction from having been a Witch (and unlike Angel Sayaka, not having had an eternity to process it)?

But you're delaying. You steel yourself, examining your own Soul Gem.

Dedolere.

That's... latin... you think? You're not sure what it means, precisely.

Still... that's your morbid curiosity settled. And that particular name had better never see the light of day, you think as you repin your Soul Gem in its location.
Maybe you need to give it a container. Soul Gem, Grief Seed... this thing should be inside, you reason, remember the selcuphral voice whispering Dedolere with a shudder. It's like someone walking over your grave...
What if those are Dedolere's wings obscuring Oriko's visions?

Ugh. You shudder, cold fingers running down your spine at the thought. It's an unpleasant reminder, and somewhat annoying that your thoughts keep returning to it. You won't ever fall, you tell yourself firmly.
Dedolere.

You grimace, looking at Irene instead.

Dedolere.

Just Seeing the name is like having icy fingers run down your spine, someone walking over your grave. A quiet, slumbering presence lying quiescent within the crackling storm of magic that is your Soul Gem, slowly everting Grief into your Soul Gem.

You turn your attention to your own Soul Gem. It's... yes, it's the same. The familiar ghostly strands of magic blazing invisibly in the air. That same quiet sepulchral pres-
Dedolere
-sence lurking in the depths of your Soul.

You suppress a shudder from the sensation of icy fingers running down your spine.

"Is something wrong?" Oriko asks, glancing at you.

"Someone walking on my grave," you mutter in response, shaking your head.

I wonder what she sees when she looks at Sabrina
Either "Dedolere" written in an ominous script
Or huge, rainbow-colored "HUGS" splattered all over

I shudder to imagine what an irrational number of letters looks like.
Our Soul Gem has our witches name on it. I... almost want to mention that to Rionna? It seems relevant to Sabrina's origins, in any case.
Doesn't everyone's soul gem have their witches name on it? I thought that's what the script on the rings was.

I was thinking we might want to tell her before she brings it up herself. See, we're being open and all... :p

At least this should dispell any ideas that us being called Sabrina means we're a Witch. Totally unrelated.

The rings' have the megucas' names.

Speaking of soul ring inscriptions, we should mention that Sabrina can read Witch Runes. That should lend some more credence to the theory that we have something to do with a Witch.

So... Considering checking Riona's witch name right after activating the privacy sphere. If she notices, that's great, since it makes it clear we're both Witchbombed.

And mentioning our Witch's name being the same as the one in our Ring... I guess mention it when we go into explaining our hypothesis?

Not sure, but... should we clarify we chose our name, basically as a joke?

[] Keep in contact with Mami, with Grief.

[] Be efficient.
-[] Shrug off rudeness, prioritize business over politeness, be blunt if necessary.

[] Explain Mami's choice to remain ignorant of facts that terrify many Magical Girls.
-[] Check Riona's Witch's name.
-[] Ask Riona to confirm her bombed status.

[] Information sharing:
-[] Waking up half-dead; amnesia; knowledge, random and about the system.
-[] KB's comment about karma level and experiences.
--[] Check Riona's opinion of KB.

[] Figure how far to trust Riona.
-[] Ask after her motives.
-[] Ask what she sees in you.

[] If she sounds good and honest:
-[] Share hypothesis about being created by magic. Wholly, by de-Witching, as part of a larger concept...
-[] Share how many times you've had the coincidence of being able to help someone in need, in the nick of time.
-[] Explain Witch names, Witch runes, how you can read them, and the name in your Ring.

Do we want to lend credence to that theory?
At the very least, it would not paint a target on Madoka's head.

Someone wishing to de-Witch, say, a Walpurgisnacht, sounds somewhat plausible and it would explain having tons of Potential. Enough Potential for Grief Cleansing? I doubt it, but still an amount that boggles the mind...
