So like all things it has it's up's and downs well I feel it'll be worth doing of course. Not now since there's still a lot to rebuild but I think I'll start pushing for it during our second 5 year plan.
 
honestly i think consumers good should be market driven rather than planned

Consumer goods are after all trend driven,you never now when the next ''fidget spinner'' or ''tuperware'' kind of major hit will strike

so planning for consumer goods is always inefficient because it cant never account for random changes in people preferences or how totally new products might actually be major success in the public

is different with basic needs like housing or food,those are easily predictable and accountable for
 
It really does seem like we'd be better off allowing at least some civilian economic freedom, even if at a short-term cost in recourses. It'll allow us to focus on the really important stuff, satisfy some of our political opposition, and we'd be following our official directives, avoiding a potential source of strife.

Can we not allow them to do that? Even if we make deal with devil of capitalism, I would ratherr keep it gated in consumer goods sector.
You will never be forced (aside from potentially through the political process) to allow them to do things like that. It is one of the major advantages of having a private sector that you can do that, but you don't have to touch the button.

I've always been too afraid to ask: If people change their mind in what they vote, do you have to go back and edit your original vote post, or will the vote count function only count your latest post? I assume it would still play havoc with anyone hand counting, though.

The vote tally function only counts the latest post you have with a vote in it, so you don't have to edit your original one, if you are putting up a new vote.

It counts your most recent post containing a vote, so you can make a fresh post with your new vote or go back and edit the original if it's the most recent and you want to do that instead. You don't need to both make a new post AND edit the old post though, just one of the above.

Natural 100 for the Boston Chip plant and a natural 1 for toy factories. A natural 100 is good as we otherwise had lackluster rolls for the Boston Chip plant. Did Nod agents place tiberium inside children's toys?
