So looking over the options we have I have made 3 smaller and far more specialized stations for future use. These don't have cost for locations since they are designed for relatively mass production in whatever part of the system they are built then they are moved to their final location. We have the mining variant built into asteroids like Luna II and Solomon.

The straight defense station that will be everywhere defending the Earth Sphere, colonies, Mars Sphere, and Jupiter sphere, as well as the areas in between this one, is a hybrid station that needs the extra space to give it enough weapons to fight. It also has production facilities to allow it to make parts for its forces on the station. It lacks mining bays since the materials should be shipped to it or it will be near a Shipyard or Mining Variant to supply it what it needs.

And lastly the Shipyards these are going to be used to expand the production and increase the logistics for the upkeep of the expanding fleet. These will only be around major holding points since having them spread out everywhere would make them targets. Better to simply group them in major fleet anchorages around the system and later in other established systems.

One thing you will notice is that all of them have maxed Extra Defenses no matter what while they all aren't meant to hold and fight they need to be hard to take so the defenses increase survivability. Plus the three types are likely to be placed together in groupings so they can support each other. But be fine without each other as well if needed.

So what does everyone think about the variants for normal stations instead of Axis replacement? The mining stations are the one we would make if we took the following action:
Off world Mining- There are a large quantity of valuable "near" Earth asteroids, a few select investments will allow us to build a dedicated Space Station for the purpose of mining these asteroids (DC Medium)

The rest are meant to increase our presence in Sol and start turning it into the fortress and economic heart of a new interstellar race.

Good with Axis from Zeon between Mars and Earth and now Atlas being built at Mars we have a supply and support chain to do the Mar's colonization. Since we are going to want to involve Zeon this endeavor in order to maintain and improve relations to make a war between the two powers less and less appealing. This should make the colony grow faster and be more successful.

The Protoculture's (who have been... not quite nerfed... but altered to better fit the Gundam Universe/timeline) science is so advanced to use that the best way to describe it is 'Magical Bullshit'. As for what that has to do with Jupiter.... Spoilers.
I have a few ideas on what is going to happen with Jupiter Sphere and the protoculture but I will keep them to myself. So what did you think of the other stations I designed?

They are all right, but I will say that designing stations is done on a case-by-case bases.
Not really for something like Axis or Atlas yeah because they are meant to be a major staging point. But for mining Outpost and other smaller stations they would be built along the same framework and standards. Making everything a unique and case by case build makes it impossible to standardize training and utilization of them.
