Right with this I figured go all out place it as Mars as its local defense force and just make it as big and powerful as possible. The materials to run the production facilities will be coming from mars so this one doesn't need mining bays. This something that will take a long time to build especially at Mars so hopefully we build it at Earth then move it to Mars orbit. I have it at L1 that way it is in a stable orbit and it can guard the approach to Mars without it orbiting around the planet.

This is an all-in plan that will take multiple turns to complete DC wise. This is meant to be the first of a series of stations built as all-in-one manufacturing, force-projection, and deterrent facility.

I would like to get the other factions input and construction efforts put into this design. Like the space elevator before it, it will stand as a symbol of renewed unity between The Federation, Zeon, and the people of Mars, Jupiter etc. This station will be the wheel, the spoke, and the cornerstone from which humanity commands an uncontested iron-grip on the Inner solar system.

I know the DC will be ridiculously prohibitive, and I can remove some features if need be. However, we're going to be facing a fleet millions of ships strong. Thusly, I propose we at least have a speedbump that can take a few times its weight in starships with it to the grave. This is not supposed to be a quick project, but an example of what people do when they actually work together.

Your plan costs 525 DC that is more than a few turns. And with the location, it is unless in the support of the Mars colonization which is something we want to put a lot of focus on. It is also in the void between worlds which means there is little to no materials for it to mine there. If you want a defense station build one don't waste time with production and mining bays when everything needs to be shipped to it to make it work in the first place.

Jaburo but on Mars, we would be stationing a fleet there and the facilities should make it more or less self sufficient. Hopefully.

Yeah I wasn't planing on it being short.

This isn't something we want to be working on for years man. That would lock up our actions and limit our ability to react to changes that come up. It would at least have access to materials but again it does nothing to help us at mars which has a large amount of materials and resources.
