I don't think anybody in-universe will call it "WEBIR" or "WEBER"; it'll be the World's Edge Branch, like how the Hochland School of Sorcery is, well, that, and not HSS.
That might be just the Colleges refusing to be so immature as to actually hiss everytime they talk about the Hochland school :p

And if we're the World's Edge Branch, I suppose all our employees would be caught in our WEB. Also does that mean our alumni would be called Websters? Mathilde Webster's Dictionary incoming

....We need to make a dictionary for another (non-secret) language so we can call it Mathilde Webber's dictionary.

That's nice and makes sense.

Edit: Thanks for the heads-up, I forgot about that.

I am curious what the dossier the Greys probably keep on Mathilde actually says.

Well, the parts that are not heavily redacted, anyway.

Actually, I'm sure the Light Order have a dossier now as well, what with them being another kind of secret police. I wonder what that says. Some variation of "Smol but scary", I'd imagine.

I mean, look at our achievements from the perspective of Horstmann; we recruited 200 monster mounted knights and a dragon and his pet elf, we ripped a dwarf hold out of the warp, we shattered an army wide illusion with a miscast, we nearly slew a greater demon in hand to hand combat, we invented a new battlemagic tailor made for the expedition, we looted a Marienburg trade ship despite being on the wrong side of the continent, we use battlemagic to teleport as casually as breathing, interrogated a potential chaos suspect, wiped out a Kul encampment with some sort of divine storm, and we did all of that with an insufferably smug aura, as if it was all planned and not the result of us flying by the seat of our pants.

sometimes punny names/acronyms are great, sometimes they fall flat: this time was a dud.

The good news is, based on previous examples of punny names/acronyms, it will be mentioned once in the very next update and then never again - this sort of thing is a blink and you miss it rather than a running gag.
Going by previous examples of organisations we run we'll have either a "WEBIR Actions" or "WEBER Actions" section on our voting options...

Sunrise Society has a really nice ring to it, but to me it doesn't sound appropriate here. What does it actually mean? What does the college have to do with the sunrise?

EDIT: Also, out of all the acronyms we could possibly have, I think SS is... somewhat unfortunate.

I have to say, I do like The Sunrise Society, unfortunate abbreviation aside. Was about to suggest "The Sunrise Academy", but that's barely any better...

A good name that isnt a Weber pun. Sounds great as well, for the old world the sun rises on the Montains.

Karag Nar means Sunrise Mountain IIRC.

'Karag Nar' translates to Sunrise Mountain, and the assault on it will begin when sunrise does.
And in the time you're not giving new dimensions to Karag Nar's translation of Sunrise Mountain, you've got your new rooms to fill some hours.

It's a way of referencing Karag Nar, with the added symbolism of new beginnings.

'Society' alliterates, and also sounds much better than 'Branch.' If you're not sure it fits an academic tone, think Royal Society

It's in Karag Nar, i.e. Sunrise Mountain. It also is aspirational both regarding a new dawn for Waystones and and international relations.

As for SS, lets not allow a party of horrific war criminals and genociders to forever remove multiple letters of the alphabet (HH, AH, SS, SA, HJ, NS, BDM, DAF) from any abbreviation purposes in all forms of media and fiction. The Nazis loved their abbreviations too much for us to surrender them all.
