Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
If you assume the worst of players before it even happens, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. If Mathilde will have to decide her entire schedule and expectations of success, then maybe it's time for her to learn a bit more restraint.

I mean, are we talking about the same woman? Boney had to pry us off Belegar with a crowbar once we got attached, and I don't see Sylvania getting back to relative peace anywhere near as quickly as Karak-Eight-Peaks did.

Given I don't believe I'll particularly enjoy the option (compared to the other things Boney could be writing), I'd be happy to vote for modest goals and a short term of stay, but I don't think that calling Mathilde (and thus the aggregate personality of the thread) "a workaholic who will go far above and beyond to make sure a job is done right" is somehow "assuming the worst" as opposed to just an accurate summary.

Problem is, it looks increasingly like only Markgraf can defeat Waystones, and Waystones is my least favorite out every option. Even Swamp Town would be better then Waystones. So it's looking like I have to bet on Markgraf, nothing else is close enough with how hard it is for any one option to gain an edge.
If it serves as any consolation in this particular vote the there have been lots of times in which a leading option has been suddenly retaken by an option that had 10 or more votes less than the leading one.

So really, anything in the 4 first positions can still win at this point.

Hmm. If I was going to roughly rank my preferences, it would be something like:

Bodyguard > Waystone >> Loremaster >>> Markgraf

I started out only voting for Bodyguard, but added an approval vote of Waystone once Bodyguard fell behind.

[x] Loremaster-at-Large of Karak Eight Peaks
[X] Markgraf of Eastern Stirland
[X] Border Princess of the Howling River
Waystone feels like we can put it off a bit more, shame there's no way to combo waystone+markgraf.

Loremaster > Waystone > Markgraf >>> Bodyguard

would be mine. Honestly I just think we're actually at a near-impasse here.

It's bodyguard>edgelord>>waystones>>>>loremaster for me.

Made a vote for boduguard and edgelord in the beginning and sticking to it. Will probably drop edgelord if it means bodyguard wins.

Bodyguard > Edgelady = Waystones > Loremaster for me.

The two leading votes are equally preferable, so I'm hardly going to vote for or against them.

[X] Bodyguard and Tutor to Prince Mandred
[X] Spymaster of Wissenland
[X] Ranaldian High Priest of Kislev

I don't dislike loremaster at large or Markgraf of stirland, so I'll probably add a vote for them if Bodyguard stops being a contender.

Hopefully bodyguard or LaL can become competative agaon, but if the ratio stays as it is I'll probably end up moving down the list later.

Edgelord>Bodyguard>>Waystones>>>>Loremaster

I'd honestly put Spymaster in first but it doesn't have a chance at this point

It went from 10+ behind Loremaster to only one behind. It's not out of the race just yet, though I'm not sure how many more votes are possible. 552 (at the time of me typing this) is kinda insane.

Not many at this point, I suspect. But the ususal pre-vote close activity surge will see a lot of voters tactically re-evaluating their votes. It usually does.

Loremaster>Waystone>Bodyguard>>>>>Markgraf for me.

I find the arc of a wizard who feels more at home outside the Empire extremely compelling. And I adore the whole WTF of a Lady Magister of the Grey Order being part of a dwarven army list or whatever. Plus deep lore, mysteries, and unique challenges.

Whatever the result, I hope Boney can take some pleasure from the realisation that they put out four very different, distinct pitches that each had well over 200 people say "Yes. I would love to read that Mathilde Quest."

Also Swamp Town, but can't all (be meant to) be winners ;)

LaL>Waystones>Edgelord>>>>Bodyguard

It feels like LaL has fallen behind even though its only got 7 votes fewer than the leading option, this vote is absurdly close.

Last one I remember like this was the first romance vote.

Edgelord>Bodyguard>>Waystones>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Loremaster

I want Edgelord, and I'm fine with Bodyguard and Waystone. But there really isn't a point pretending that I don't actively hate loremaster.

Bodyguard > Loremaster > Markgraf > Waystone

the exact opposite of the current order

but tbh, I would enjoy any of them.

Bodyguard > Loremaster > Markgraf > Waystone

I want to get to know Heidi more. I wouldn't be opposed to more Belegar either. Don't much care about Roswita or civ building from the topmost position and don't particularly want to run around convincing people to work on Waystones either.

(Edit: I also like being a dwarf quest and helping the dwarves)

Mine's are the same. Come to think of it, I wonder how the vote good looks if the people who were tactically voting against Waystones/Markgraf just voted for what they wanted.

Bodyguard>>Markgraf=Loremaster>>>>> Waystone

Personally kinda started to sour on the whole waystone idea back when the thread voted to abandon the only real lead to actually figuring out how they work with the vote to do the absolute bare minimum in investigating Dum.

Loremaster>>Markgraf>Bodyguard>>Waystones

I love the idea of becoming the "outside of the box" troubleshooter for Karaz Ankor, and the adventures that Belegar proposed are awesome... Besides that, fighting necromancers and vampires is interesting and profitable, and Heidi shenanigans will, without a doubt be interesting.

I don't see any attractive on the Waystone thing though...
