Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I don't get why? Why would we go for it in the first place if we had no real chance of winning?
Mandatory tournament arc?

Technically, it's not a race to the Staff, it's a duel to surrender or death. It's just that getting the Staff means you become so ridiculously powerful that your opponent cannot win.
I guess that for certain Wizards, even getting to the Staff first didn't seal the deal against Dragomas.

I trust BoneyM to write something interesting no matter what we pick, but these are my top choices.

[x] Loremaster-at-Large of Karak Eight Peaks
[x] The Waystone Project
[X] Governor-General of Swamp Town

Dispelling transformation of Kadon just means the user is stuck as a Dragon (except not really for Ambers as i understand it).

Honestly, the Purple Sun works on anything afaik. So Shyisk lore would actually work if you can get it off fast enough.
If you dispel when they're already a dragon yes. If you dispel while they're casting it prevents them from transforming at all. Spells do take time to cast and interfering in that process works. For example, Mathilde's dispel against the Orcs during the reclamation (the one where she basically ended the battle then and there) occurred during the spell's casting.

That, or they didn't reach it before he cut them off. Or he secured the staff first (stopped others accessing it, not got it himself), then transformed.

Might help understanding if you said "counterspell" instead of "dispel" when referring to taking out a spell that is in the process of being cast, rather than one that already has been cast.

Hmm i could see Mathilde giving it a shot just to see Dragomas transform.

"What, I like dragons."
@BoneyM Does the duel allow for an audience?

Also, if we were to take the Wissenland Spymaster job, what would be our actual title among diplomats and polite society? Because while Sylvania is a clear reason for the necessity of one, the Skaven are not common knowledge and certain factions and polities might dislike just the idea of Nuln openly admitting to focusing resources on espionage.

I like LaL for the varied adventuring and sorta situation-of-the-week approach. And Belegar is great. I feel like Mathilde is also really well suited towards just traveling around a lot to solve people's problems.

Bodyguard/tutor is same but more Empire-focused, and I like the idea of Mathilde being a more significant presence in Mandred's life. I also think this is the option that lets us do the most good as a whole, and help the Empire get its shit together. We're a big enough fish that we can't just forced to do stuff we really don't want to do.

Markgraf would be finishing up unfinished business, remeeting old characters, and more Roswita. I want to get rid of the vampires, too.

Wissenland seems to be in quite a pinch, and we're pretty great at dealing with Skaven. I'd prefer the other two jobs, but this one seems nice too: I like our potential boss, and it looks like we'll have a fair bit of room to do Wizard Stuff. Also there's other cool stuff going on there like the Hill Dwarf stuff, which I have no clue about but it sounds interesting.

Yes, there's a separate protected alcoves for each of the Colleges.

Yet to be determined, but probably something circumspect. Outside of Stirland there's a lot of different names for that sort of thing. Interior Minister, perhaps.

I think the only way to reliably beat Dragomas is to stop him transforming in the first place. Being a dragon on top of a monstrously powerful spellcaster is just too great of an advantage to counter; the only realistic shot a challenger could have is throwing battle magic at him and hoping to get lucky, which isn't a winning proposition.

With Loremaster at Large, are we technically "The wizard of Karaz Ankor"?

Magister Cython could do it :V.

He's a dragon all the time :p
