So we should start running about now?
We should have started running several months ago. Morghur isn't actually that great of a fighter.* He is, however, nearly impossible to put down, and drives the world around him to mutation and madness. He hands out fates worse than death to everything around him. If Deathfang and Asarnil get too close, there's a good chance we end up with a Chaos Dragon with a screaming ball of formerly elf on its back.

*By the standards of an ancient beastman demigod that routinely goes toe-to-toe with the greatest forces of the setting

It's a good thing there's no vote here, because I have absolutely no idea what to even do. I'm not super familiar with Morghur - could Deathwing feasibly fight him at all, or is our only real option to flee?

...better get your dispelling dice ready lads, one or two well placed Traitor-Kin and everything will be fucked.

An army with a strong monstrous cavalry focus is rather vulnerable to the Lore of the Wild, and their shamans are likely empowered by their location. Even without the weirdly misplaced Shadowgave this would be is an unfortunate match-up.

Well, in retrospect of the revelation, the "all are welcome against the Dum" is very much flavorful.

I suspect, that's not because they didn't know about the dwarves being non-chaos, but because they didn't care.

Ahaha the "mugging" occured when Mork and Gork were 1000% distracted with each other. And was one of several risky options (yes I think relying on still technically mortal crafted dwarf belt or trying to ground it ourselves were as legit risky in that sitaution)

So we should start running about now?
I think the questions is more like "so who do we toss at it first?"

...okay.

Well. I... Think we are in for a gigantic mess of a fight, since I don't think he'll just let us leave (hopefully he would, but, well, deity, beastman...)

...hm. We saved a Dwarfhold. The only one that could be saved, still.

This can either be an absolite disaster, or an acceptable-

Nope, scratch that, this is not acceptable, fuck.

This is bullshit. A good update, but fucking bullshit nonetheless.

OK, so, this is awful. However, there is something to consider: we've seen the fuel line coming from Dum, and Mathilde would have said something if it was pumping Dhar like a Herdstone would. There is a possibility that Karag Dum itself has yet to fall.

I was just thinking not long ago that it was interesting that Mathilde really didn't have almost any experience with beastmen, despite them being one of the most common enemy factions. We've certainly rectified that in dramatic fashion....

We'll have to see that the next update says but things are looking pretty poor.

So, any speculation on how relevant the Rune of Valaya's Vengeance is to this particular adversary's unique abilities?

As you watch reality flinch away from him, Morghur the Shadowgave, immortal demigod of the Beastmen, bellows a warbling prayer to the mountain that has become his Herdstone, and from the trees countless more voices join him.
You know, just thinking the other day that it would be really cool to fight a canon character.

Sorry.

Edit: (The sorry is sarcasm, I am actually kinda hyped to see how this goes)

I really wish that we had more of the Branalhune style down. Between that and the belt Mathilde might actually stand a chance in melee. Without that, I think that the best option would be the application of every single cannon at once.

Re: all the "let's run away stuff", the end of the update sure makes it sound like he spotted us, was possibly waiting for us, and either way we're about to get charged by a fuckload of Beastmen. So if I'm reading it right, the time for running away would have been before any of that, because it's not like we're gonna outdistance him on steam wagons that move at an average of 4 miles per hour.

As such while the impulse to freak out is VERY understandable, we should really be thinking more about how we plan to handle this.

Possible pros to add against all the cons:
1. Our anti-Dhar amulet might give us protection against his "fuck you, reality" field if he decides to take the field personally.
2. He may or may not decide to take the field personally; "test yourselves against Dum" suggests that survival is a possibility, which would be less likely if Morghy Morgh (if you're envisioning him rapping like Mark Wahlberg now, then I've done my job) is personally stepping out every time somebody pokes their heads over the horizon.
3. I think the "mountain is his herdstone" thing is superstructure rather than a corruption of Karag Dum proper; if the Hold itself had fallen, it wouldn't still be sending magic south whether or not it was otherwise intact, as shown by the example of K8P.
