Ulricanism isn't more civilisation friendly. Look at Middenheim for proof. The reason Sigmar worship took off isn't because it's better for civilisation, it's because it was way more pro-noble than the Ulrican faith, which the nobles liked since it justified their power and gave them more of it.

Fair enough. Either way doesn't change my point.

You laugh, but things breaking down to the point that Mathilde has to keep a successor state of the Empire alive with the full power of the Liber Mortis is one of the most likely paths for her to become a Goddess, just because that's the sort of context and the feats it would take to dislodge existing faiths in favor of Mathilde.

then end of times mathilde?.
if she manages to live until then.

You can certainly tell Mathilde just had her Avatar trait pinged and the barrier to the Aethyr is weakened. :)

All this party pooping on goddess Mathilde, guess I'll have to look to other powerful lore characters to imagine Mathilde surpassing.

Glances at Nagash.

Aboard the Omegahugger train it is.

The only reason that I joke is because I have no faith the thread would ever go for it.

SV would never be worshipped as a Deity of "Making Omegahugger's dreams come true"...

Being a warhammer god is a mugs game. Just be immortal and too powerful to be a PC, like several characters (for instance that alchemist dickwaffle that dies and always returns and is not a vampire).

Better yet learn to open a interdimensional gateway and go 'fuck this shit, i'm out'.

I'm just saying, if we are playing the 'what god would mathy be' game while waiting for the update.

we need to think 'what would the people on the ground think she is the god of?'

not 'what we, the players, think she is the god of.'

because if anything about AOS Sigmar is connected to WF Sigmar... we then know that gods don't really get much chose about what they are the god of (I just want to hit stuff with my hammer! why so much paperwork!')
It's the other way around, really. Sigmar is the ultimate CIV player. His greatest contributions to society were working roads, a universal language, and a functional calendar system.

Conan the Grammarian.

Honestly I'm hoping that might help us in getting an upgrade to it when the Expedition ends, if we didn't already have one from looking at the Coin. Considering it was already a +10 to protection from one of the most dangerous things in this setting—unwilling corruption—it jumped from a really nice thing to have into priority number one for me.

I don't Avatar actually works against unwilling corruption.

What it does is make it easier for Mathilde to handle/avoid/maneuvre around Divine energies, like when Slaneesh sent out a huge fart that smelled like what-ever-you-like-enough-to-stand-still-for-a-few-secnds-while-the-daemonettes-cut-you-down.

It will probably protect us against some upstart deity going "ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL" on us, but that is not a common occurance.

the important thing that Avatar does is that Mathilde will notice if a deity tries something.
And as seen with memetic effects you can only fight them if you notice them.

Sure, she might still use the fight depending on several factors, but without it she might not even notice and lose per default.

...That's basically the same thing? Like, the roll was Temptation—with a capital T—and narratively happened when we got hit with a wave of Slannesh flavored power. Presumably straight-up corruption would be the same thing, just more of it?
Whatever form it takes, we proved a +10 bonus in resisting Chaos. I want more of that, more often.

Becoming an incarnation of Ulgu would be amazing.

There's a (not very good) cataclysm spell that temporarily transforms a character into a lesser incarnation of a Wind.
Developing the Ulgu equivalent of Gilding is on the long term Todo list of at least some questers.

I think that much more investigation of arcane marks would be required, along with a lot more knowledge of the nature of the soul.

I can actually see this as a result. Stone is an excellent insulator of magic, and therefore greatly favored by the dwarfs. Plus, it's pretty impressive.
Considering we basically walked up to a blank wall of stone, went "yeah that's a lot of magic being used for something nasty", and then fixed it, I have to agree.

Fantasy C'Tan is (thematically) Nagash so probably not.
There are multiple C'tan, as I understand, and Natasha is only tied to one Wind in particular...
