BoneyM's answers so far have made it clear my worries about a conflict are unfounded since the Azul runesmiths are already aware of what Karag Dum has done, they just don't care as much because it wasn't current events to them.
Wait, I think I missed those answers. The only thing I could find on it was this:
Mathilde knows essentially nothing about it, but there was apparently something of a rift between Karag Dum Runesmiths and those of the rest of the Karaz Ankor. Thorek might have been the only one willing to lend his expertise, since Karak Azul was isolated from all of that.
2. None. There's something of a rift between Karag Dum and the Runesmiths of other holds.
Is this the extent of our knowledge on the subject?
Yes. Kragg's above it and Thorek's out of it so you don't really have an in to find out more.
This implies to me not that Karak Azul is aware of Karag Dum's transgression and doesn't care, but that Karak Azul doesn't know either. @BoneyM, sorry to bug you, but could you clarify which it is? And while I'm bugging you, is the library topic "Marauder Tribes" the same as the library topic "Chaos Marauders"? You've mentioned both in reference to the steppe nomads and I am unsure which is the preferred verbiage at this point.

While Panoramia was cute, and the kind of thing that gives warm feelings... it was mundane. I mean, I do think that Mathilde needs more interactions like that for her mental health, but I'm not totally interested in seeing more of it.

So I'll go full dragon now.
I kinda agree. Yeah it was really freaking cute, and I would totally be jumping on that if the dragon scene hadn't happened... the dragon just really grabbed my attention and struck me as more Mathilde. And while we're still not sure just how far it's shape shifting extends, we know it has some. And it definitely seems to see Mathilde as, if not equal, someone well capable of becoming such.

Thorek went on tour to get caught up. If Karak Azul didn't know about it during, they know now, at least in very broad strokes.

Go with 'Marauder Tribes'.

No point in dreaming about what-ifs. Unless Panoramia discovers an unacceptable flaw in our personality, the verdict is final:

I, too, fully support dragon romance. Panoramia is nice, I suppose, but doesn't really grab my attention like Cython does.

(Besides, I now have this completely irrational desire to have Mathilde one day cast off her weak human form and somehow become a mighty Ulgu-Dragon, don't judge me.)

Leaving College blank at the moment because I am unsure. Library plan is as posted before. Dwarf plan is as posted before; while I am now reassured it can't be anything too bad and we aren't liable to walk into a disaster, I am still curious, and 2 gallons of AV isn't a steep price.

Really can't justify buying smut with our stipend.

The Panoramia bit was all that I expected of it and so much more. Truly PanPan is thr rightful winner of the shipwars, with a possibly Dragon added to the mix if Panpan, Mathilde and Cython decide to combine their powers to make the ultimate offspring.

Not sure how much sense that makes. Cython has become as creature of Light and Magic but is still pretty clearly a dragon (even if a very different dragon to those that came before). I'd expect the default for Mathilde would be the same, she'd become a creature of Shadow and Magic but also be pretty clearly a human (even if a very different human to those that came before).

Becoming a dragon would likely require an extra level of effort and change.

On the topic of romance, I do think Cython is definitely very interesting but I suspect he'd most likely turn Mathilde down at the moment. Maybe in a few decades when Mathilde has properly Ulgufied. For now it looks like Panoramia has won the shipping wars. However, a new battle can always break out should Panoramia not be properly wary.

[X] [COLLEGE] Item of Light's Demand: 5 Favor

To repeat my logic:

Is this going to permanently occupy our enchanted item slot? Probably not. Will it be extremely useful in the Chaos Waste in particular? Hella yes! Get it for the upcoming mission, use it, and replace it with some item we enchant for ourselves using WIndherder down the road when we have the AP to do so. Light's Demand has a number of attractive features:

1. Affects only Chaos creatures, so very friendly to allies.
2. Specifically hard to resist.
3. Cone, so easy to aim even as an enchanted item.

You can talk about the merits of a big boom all you want, but in the Chaos Wastes specifically, on the mission we're doing specifically, a Light's Demand that freezes one daemon in place for a precious few seconds could be way more valuable than a huge explosion.

Ok, first off, I love this update, this update was everything I wanted when the romance options first came up. I think it's really telling though that she's about as awkward and cute with pan now, as she would have been back in eagle castle.

So I am really glad for both the date, and the dragon, and the introduction of the Commander of the Grey Battle Wizards to the August Order of Ducklings.

And can I say that one of the things I loved most about Pan was how supportive she was when we were in private? Taking our own words to remind is that what we have done is worth being proud of, even though it feels more vunerable to judgement from those she really cares about when it is our home and our friends and not just popping in to drop off a package.

Some old business first-

Necromancy isn't just super slow dhar magic, its something entirely different, so is the lore of stealth.

it might be what your saying, it might also be a lot more than that.

And we won't know until we do some real deal research into it.

My hypothesis would be that it is the creation of dhar as an accepted and encouraged phenomena that gives the ability to work it at speed.

Basically, grab harder to work faster, grabbing anything but your own wind hard creates dhar.

A graduate from the University of Altdorf might be able to argue that, but the Colleges haven't even finished their second century yet. Not really a strong argument for a long-term investment.

Also it's in it for the joy of discovery, not knowledge for its own sake. It'd be like offering solutions to a crossword enthusiast.

I would think the thing for to do, if one wanted to convince them to check in every so often with a college, would be to compile the interesting questions. What are the researchers trying to figure out?

It's like trying to assemble a best of collection of crosswords for a crossword enthusiast.

Also, would it even be a big investment? He is not giving anything up except maybe time, and that is the thing he has the most of by magnitudes.

Risk. At a dragon's time scales, every trip outside their own territory has a non zero chance of encounting something that could kill or bind them. So, not usually worth making trips over a few thousand years.

"As in, a Hysh Emperor Dragon?" Regimand asks.

"Handy sort," Johann says, with deliberate casualness. "Wiped out its share of the local foes and then some."

"Far from the worst neighbour we've had," Panoramia agrees.

I have this picture in my head of Mathilde crossing her arms and these two closing ranks and looming at her shoulders, delivering these lines. Our crew has our back, and I love it.

I am SUPER INTERESTED in what the two visiting greys are thinking on their way home.

You know, this almost makes me wonder if we just missed Regimand's own private freak out due to us changing subjects immediately after. Not only are Mathilde and her Ducklings totally nonchalant about the Emperor Dragon that comes over for tea and library visits, but it's a hysh dragon too.

Right? It's like, welcome to the kickflip zone, get with it old man! :)

This fills the anti-demon role that we'd have otherwise wanted a light wizard for, so I like it: it frees that half-slot up for brettonian knights. More heavy calvary for the breakout phase!

I'm... not sure if you're agreeing with me, or trying to say that Panoramia is locked in. Because she really isn't.
She was too fast. We've seen her underthings.
Even though the shift underneath doesn't reveal much more than her robes did, they were still her underthings.
The next step is marriage.

Unless you think a vote to break off an amiable relationship to seek better pastures will ever make it through the base? It's her Mathildebowl to lose.

Eh, given the difference in reactions between the dragon scene—which wasn't even romantic—and her scene, I'd say it's possible. I, at least, have switched from preferring Panoramia over the dragon to the opposite, and this wasn't even a soft lock option so I wouldn't be calling it "breaking off" the relationship.

From the Light College I demand an item of Light's Demand.

She smiles at you. "Didn't you learn to swim as a child? In a dam or a dew pond or something?"

You shake your head. "Of course not. That's tempting Manhavok."
I think Cython would have something valuable to say about this. Something along the lines of, "Your God of Floods chooses to give you water, frequently, to the point of giving enormous amounts of it to you in your homes, your fields, your cities... and the lesson you take from that is to not learn to swim in water?"

If you're working off the assumption that swimming makes floods more likely, it's a sensible precaution.

That was adorable aaaaaaaaaaa

You can feel your face heating up as a thousand risque scenarios rush through your head. "Uh, Panoramia, what- what?"

She looks at you oddly. "We're up here to swim, aren't we?"
Up until she looked at Mathilde oddly I had the idea that she knew that Mathilde hadn't intended any such thing and was doing it purely to tweak her.
By the time the sun passes its zenith and begins to dip, you've discovered an ability to remain afloat in water and built up quite an appetite for the meal the two of you had carried up
Pretty interesting that she was able to find a way to float - people that're all muscle the way she is sink like a rock. I choose to believe that she was using Panoramia as a floatation device :V

A couple things from before the update: (which was SUPER CUTE!)
Mathilde giggles to herself on a daily basis because nobody's caught on about the Staff of Mistery yet.
This makes me want to do the "tame Arcane Mark" project, to see if we can get the Staff to gather mists to itself, instead of the rest of Mathilde. And then wander around like that until someone gets it.
1) Scout Drazh

The Warboss is dead. Drazh emptied its self out, we know there's a Dwarf King of Drazh in exile he may well want to retake it sooner rather than later and now he has K8P as a staging ground instead of nothing. We can scout the area see what the situation is like given how deep Mathilde can scout and check for any mayhem we can cause. Orcs and Goblins don't often have great things to loot but it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

Mostly I want to know if we can find any dwarven fortifications still functional and see what's actually there, maybe there's another waystone to integrate maybe there's nothing, I'm hopeful for there to be lore that could be recovered.
Drazh is not empty - they still have enough greenskins to spare sending the losers of power struggles through the Underway to get mulched by the Dwarven defenses.
