I wanted to give Elspeth some appropriately bullshit feats in the past, just to really help sell her as a Big Deal even by future!Mathilde standards.

So (slightly inspired by Professor Tellwyrn from TGaB), I decided to toy around with Death's Timekeeper. Hence: How did Elspeth get the ashes of a dead god, anyway? Deicide.

To be fair, though, I was imagining it as a very minor deity, and with a lot of extenuating circumstances - think Mathilde-tier shenanigans.
Ind has a bunch of gods. Might be some of them are minor enough to make killing them feasible by some.

Let the man apologize. He said he was sorry; if he reneges and goes back to behaving badly, then criticize that, but until then we should assume good faith. To do otherwise and keep kicking him just makes the thread environment worse.
think Mathilde-tier shenanigans.
I'm rereading the original reclamation and going through all the comments, and this seems appropriate:
If the dwarves don't yet have a word of "shenanigans", it will probably sound a lot like "Mathilde Weber".

Isn't Elspeth immortal in canon because of snorting dead god's ashes or something. SMH, magical thinking lore with no dignity or consistency. It's warhammer all right.

Glad we snatched that hatred of Sigmar 'bad' trait, though i suppose sooner or later (sooner with how the thread is hellbent in rising through the colleges about to be controlled by a sigmar fanatic and more interaction with Empire institutions) it'll show its bite.

please don't pretend you didn't do it on propose and we are being mean to you, you blatantly and self-admittedly get a kick out of it.

Can you not assume the worst of me?

Yeah i get a kick out of the occasional shit post and bit of trolling, that doesn't mean I'm a total asshole.

I have literally reported one of my own posts asking to be threadbanned for the next few days, just to get me out of your hair, and away from this vote that's ticking me off.

please do not reply to this post.

She had an hourglass with a dead god's ashes in it, my theory was that she offloads her aging to the immortal-but-eternally-dying remnants of a god. Probably would be Bad End if somebody got it off her.

Canonically, Elspeth is an immortal Shyish wraith that takes double damage from Hysh. Elspeth is also in possession of Death's Timekeeper, a mystical hourglass filled with the ashes of a dead god, which can be used to manipulate both Death and Time.

These facts may or may not be connected.

So here's an idea that's come to me and refuses to let go. Right now, we've got enough Nehekharan coins to write papers on the 4th, 5th, and 6th Dynasties. In the future, what do people think about an expedition to Nehekhara in order to study enough coins to write papers on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Dynasties as well? And while we're there, we can probably get the coins of the 7th Dynasty, specifically the coins from
Settra, Great King, the Imperishable, Khemrikhara, The Great King of Nehekhara, King of Kings, Opener of the Way, Wielder of the Divine Flame, Punisher of Nomads, The Great Unifier, Commander of the Golden Legion, Sacred of Appearance, Bringer of Light, Father of Hawks, Builder of Cities, Protector of the Two Worlds, Keeper of the Hours, Chosen of Ptra, High Steward of the Horizon, Sailor of the Great Vitae, Sentinel of the Two Realms, The Undisputed, Begetter of the Begat, Scourge of the Faithless, Carrion-feeder, First of the Charnel Valley, Rider of the Sacred Chariot, Vanquisher of Vermin, Champion of the Death Arena, Mighty Lion of the Infinite Desert, Emperor of the Shifting Sands, He Who Holds The Sceptre, Great Hawk Of The Heavens, Arch-Sultan of Atalan, Waker of the Hierotitan, Monarch of the Sky, Majestic Emperor of the Shifting Sands, Champion of the Desert Gods, Breaker of the Ogre Clans, Builder of the Great Pyramid, Terror of the Living, Master of the Never-Ending Horizon, Master of the Necropolises, Taker of Souls, Tyrant to the Foolish, Bearer of Ptra's Holy Blade, Scion of Usirian, Scion of Nehek, The Great, Chaser of Nightmares, Keeper of the Royal Herat, Founder of the Mortuary Cult, Banisher of the Grand Hierophant, High Lord Admiral of the Deathfleets, Guardian of the Charnal Pass, Tamer of the Liche King, Unliving Jackal Lord, Dismisser of the Warrior Queen, Charioteer of the Gods, He Who Does Not Serve, Slayer off Reddittras, Scarab Purger, Favoured of Usirian, Player of the Great Game, Liberator of Life, Lord Sand, Wrangler of Scorpions, Emperor of the Dunes, Eternal Sovereign of Khemri's Legions, Seneschal of the Great Sandy Desert, Curserer of the Living, Regent of the Eastern Mountains, Warden of the Eternal Necropolis, Herald of all Heralds, Caller of the Bitter Wind, God-Tamer, Master of the Mortis River, Guardian of the Dead, Great Keeper of the Obelisks, Deacon of the Ash River, Belated of Wakers, General of the Mighty Frame, Summoner of Sandstorms, Master of all Necrotects, Prince of Dust, Tyrant of Araby, Purger of the Greenskin Breathers, Killer of the False God's Champions, Tyrant of the Gold Dunes, Golden Bone Lord, Avenger of the Dead, Carrion Master, Eternal Warden of Nehek's Lands, Breaker of Djaf's Bonds.

Basically, Elspeth is a tryhard.

So, as it looks like we are going with Pan (unless we get a romance vote to try a other serious date with someone else next turn), and seeing as it looks like Path of Fog is halfway done, here's another topic: we can hire Melkoth again to finish the spell on the Expedition's credit card, which is Thorgrim's. What if we put the Coin on a Create Battlemagic action next turn, as he will be here anyway and that's precisely his expertise?

If it tracks we could finish it just before leaving.

I think the word nowadays is 'chuuni'.

Speaking of that, a Omake of Webber as a Naruto Ninja, or voyaging there almost writes itself

"Likes, Dislikes, Hobbies and Dreams"

"Smut, commitment, subverting rules, becoming a unnatural self persistent existence without losing my sanity'.

I will approve of this venture... as soon as we accrue as many titles as Settra. :V

Well, it seems we'll have to learn the ways of Necromancy in order to live long enough to do so. :V

I'm not against a trip to Not!Egypt, but that's not a particularly exciting reason for one in itself. It's more something cool that could be done on the side while there for a larger purpose.

That's fair. Personally, this kind of stuff is incredibly fascinating to me and I'd vote for it quite readily, but I can easily see why it's not enough to justify a trip to Not!Egypt on its own.

I'm coming around to using the coin on finishing the spell next turn, rather than on the super-robes, for reasons of action economy. If we don't high-roll on the robes, we don't get the always-on Mastery we dream of, but we still get significantly better robes. If we don't high-roll the spell creation, maybe we don't get the spell at all in one more AP and we need a third AP to do it, which would suck.

Bringing in Melkoth also seems objectively correct if it's subsidized, unless there is a better Lord Magister for spell creation in general (which I doubt).

I believe that we already established that Mathilde is the Demon of the Hidden Mist. :V

It is, I specifically asked about that spell.

I was thinking:
Killy Fog BM - Gambler
Fog Path
Enchant Robes
Branulhune Style
Recruit (Azul Smiths, Light College)

If we will have Melkoth for free, at a hefty 10 favor discount, I figure it's as good a time as any to double dip on advanced Ulgu actions. If we are making Ulgu BM, he is very much the best to have around.

Then T33 is Scouting x2 or Scouting X1 and finishing a spell. With Asarnil + Fog Path + Winter Wolves + Dammerlichriding the need for scouting drops significantly. We are between two and a half a and five times wagons.

A lot of annoying obstacles should be bypassed by our shiny new spell, too.
