We should use Aethyric Vitae to provide Arcane Fulcrum levels of power. I think we should use that power to create a very powerful artifact that can teleport a castle like Dracula's castle in Castlevania.

Since the topic of enchanting has come up again does anyone have any ideas for multi-wind enchantments that would be useful for Mathilde?

I've been looking at the spell list but nothing is coming to mind apart from combining some of the armouring spells like the Gold or Ambers have, which seems like a poor idea if we're trying to enchant our Aethryic Armour mastery effect into our robes.

The only other potentially useful idea I've come up with is combining Drop (petty magic) and Armour of Lead (Moderately complicated Gold spell) or for an item that forces the enemy to drop their weapons and then makes their armour as heavy as lead. This would make it a lot more difficult to bend down and pick up their weapons to continue a chase, possibly overbalancing them if they try.

@BoneyM would this be an acceptable item?

A cloak that combines Cascading Fire-Cloak and our mastered Dread Aspect.

Cascading Fire-Cloak is a Battle Magic spell from the Lore of Fire that wreathes the wizard's unit - the whole unit, not just the wizard themselves - in a shield of flame, damaging all enemies in melee with them. My hope of combining this with Dread Aspect is to create a magical effect where tendrils of shadow and flame attack nearby enemies while also projecting Terror. This idea was inspired by Lord of the Rings' balrogs, described in the book as creatures shrouded in shadows and flames.

Another idea I had was to combine the non-Battle Magic Amethyst spell Steal Life with one of the Battle Magic spells from the Lore of Fire. The Lore of Fire deals a great many attacks, but they have low Strength and no armour-piercing; they're made for killing hordes of weaklings. However, Steal Life ignores Toughness and armour. Combining Steal Life with a Battle Magic fire spell will create a spell that hits a lot, automatically wounds, and ignores armour. It will be incredibly powerful.

I would also point out that we can totally make enchantments for others as well.

the dwarfs might be a bit iffy about them, but our human friends might like them.

hell, fame wise, giving them to others would be better then just for ourselves. because then as they are 'sent out to the world' so to speak, people will start going 'holy hell! she can make multi-wind enchantments!'

You know, I really feel sorry for any armies that ever come up against Mathilde it and when this happens. Like, Dread Aspect is already a pretty terrifying and devastating attack, but combined With the Fire-Cloak, Branalhune, and our robes, she would be an absolute monster. Just imagine the sort of reputation she would get for that.
although, question, is this Balrog Cloak going to interfere with our Aethyric armor robes? Because theoretically people can wear cloaks over robes—or capes, since we've already got head wear with our hat—but mechanically it mighttake up the same slot and they would be really close. Unless we enchanted Abelhelm's hat with it? Hmm...

I...honestly doubt we can wear both. However, we could still cast aethyric armour just fine. We can't care a Fire/Shadow spell on us except as a magic item, though.

@BoneyM Would it be possible to try to use Windherder/Enchanting to figure out a way to enchant balls of steel with both Guard of Steel and a Bewilder that triggers when the ball is hit by an enemy in melee?

Also, if anyone of the Ducklings wants a promotion, they can be part of the process. Even a low level multi wind enchantment is more than enough for a masterwork if they're a contributor.

I don't think its wise to involve journeyman(lings) in such a controversial project. Because really, the colleges are going to be very suspicious of any multi-wind project (as they mentally translate "multi-wind" into "dhar").

are you sure we can still cast Aethyric armor even while wearing something with two other spells, one of which is a different wind? How exactly does the protection from Cloak of Fire compare anyways? Also isn't our enchanted robes technically stronger than actually casting the spell? Or is it just safer?

Shroud of Invisibility and Transformation of Kadon to make invisible dragons.

Reaping Scythe, Flaming Sword of Rhuin (non-BM), and Shadow Knives to make a weapon that ignores armour, has Impact, is Fast, and gives +10 WS.

Mastered Dread Aspect and Banish so that while our shadow holds the daemon in place, we ourselves can still do other stuff except move across the ground.

Do remember that even the toughest human can still get killed by enough mooks, or a hit from a siege weapon or something.

Mathilde can be supernaturally terrifying, she can heal from unbelievable injury, but she's still only as tough as a guy in platemail.

Cascading Fire-Cloak provides no protection. All it does is damage enemies. Our enchanted robes are weaker than casting the spell, due to having been made when we had less Magic. If we were to make a new set now, it'd only provide as much protection as casting the spell. Because the balrog cloak is part ulgu I think we can still cast Aethyric Armour on ourselves.
