It would be cool to have a social action of Mathilde in the Temple of the Gambler she opened, socializing with the people of Karag Nar and just getting a sense of what life is like among the common Undumgi. I'd vote for that.

I wouldn't. That kind of slice of life where nothing interesting happens doesn't add much to the quest, and takes away interesting opportunities. I'd rather leave downtime as downtime. Just assume that when not engaging in Overwork, Mathilde does normal introvert levels of socializing. I think Micromanaging her free time is beyond the level of abstraction for social actions, which should be used for "notable moments", as opposed to when there's nothing cool going on just chilling at my gambling house.

I would have suggested we should travel to Kislev and get an Ice witch to help, as all Dragons are normally weak to Ice type attacks. But this Dragon is also Ice type... so maybe we could get some Fairy type attacks. Maybe the Vicereine might have some ideas? :V

The thing is, if it were just plan I highly doubt we would have to spend an entire action on it. Like, sure, it takes time to think, but that's never translated to full actions before.
 
@Lupercal My extremely strong belief is that the intent here was that we implement our anti-dragon mechanism in this turn, not just draft a proposal. Evidence:
While you can call on them for help if need be, that Belegar came to you implies he's looking for something more out-of-the-box than throwing Kragg at it and calling it a day, so it's likely to go a lot better if you suggest what sort of finished product you're looking for from the collaboration.
Here there is a mention of a finished product.
We could do the first action as a Design action, then follow it up next turn with actually building whatever comes up?
@BoneyM , spending more actions on the tower would improve the outcome, much as it did for the Eye of Gazul, right?
For this one, you'd be better served coming at it from two different angles if you want to spend two actions on it.
Here Derpmind asks about taking a Design action first and then building next turn, and Boney's response is about doing two different things this turn rather than saying "of course you would take a design action now, this whole thing is just the design phase."
@BoneyM I just want to make sure Skaven Knowledge Bomb isn't accidentally building two towers, one for the anti-air and a second to be determined next update. You've previously said we can't build two towers or dig twice at the same time, only one of each. Is it necessary to pick the penthouse tower to build Belegars tower?
With the full resources of the Karak behind you, you can go for two towers if you want, but it's not necessary to use the Penthouse action on a tower to build an anti-dragon tower.
Here Parzival checks the legality of building two towers and Boney confirms it, implying that if we had taken the "Build a new tower with anti-dragon capabilities", we would be building it and not just planning it.

Your assignment for the remainder of this year is a light one, as Belegar knows you've still got to finish the Reikspiel version of the translation - to create, commission, devise, or otherwise see to some sort of plan for if the Ice Dragon turns hostile, ideally something that could also come in handy against other dragons or any other variety of enormous flying beast. A number of possibilities immediately leap to mind, and it's up to you to decide upon the best of them.
Yeah, the repetitive synonymous words 'create', 'commission', and 'devise', for 'actually do this' seem to indicate to me a desire for action this year.
 
Given how close they are, I would recommend that people approval voting both Plan Versatile and Fight Dragon With Dragon drop their votes for one of them if they have a preference.

Damn, we're so close to dragon shenanigans. At first I thought it was ridiculous, and it is, but I'm really warming to it. But I'd be damn sad if it wins and we crit fail it, that'd be so disappointing.

If it's successful, we've totally got to pick out volunteers from the undumgi (or hilariously, a halfling) and train them up to badass dragon warriors.

Uh, maybe variations on 'counterspelling' and our Waaaghbane trait? It is kind of hard to back up definitive statements in here, isn't it. Sorry about that. @BoneyM, would you be willing to chime in again on whether or not counterspelling attempts can be themselves interfered with?

There's counterspelling by using raw magical power to nullify a spell head-on, and there's counterspelling by interfering with a spell as it is being cast.

Edit: While we're at it, @BoneyM to the best of Mathilde's knowledge, is there a big difference between transforming a willing Human and transforming a willing Dwarf?

Almost certainly yes. The exact difference, she's not so sure about.

Can a target of a transformation be simply dispelled of it by an opponent castet even after the transformation has gone through successfully?

You can dispel the lingering part of the spell that would allow them to turn back.

Do magic altars independently using battle magic have a significant chance of causing massive destruction upon miscasting or being counterspelled?

Depends what they're doing. If they're interrupted in the process of creating a big ol' fireball or whatever, yes. In the case of a dragon-making one, it'd be a bad time for whoever was halfway through being transformed.

And lastly, is there anything unworkable, ambiguous, or not understandable to you in the following plan section?

Though, would a second casting of Transformation of Kadon allow them to resume their original form? Or would their new form as a dragon be considered their original form for the second spell's purposes?

If there's an enemy dragon on the field, everyone is already exposed to the risk of being trapped in a permanent transformation into a corpse.

The Ambers might be able to work something out, but there's no guarantees.

I don't know, I was thinking the opposite. Dragons are awesome, we might find someone who'd volunteer to straight up become a dragon to dedicate themself to protecting their people. There are worse dates.
