I think we should start with the library and let the university grow naturally.

We should start a library with a charter to expand it into a research university somewhere down the line if circumstances allow, that Mathilde or her successors can cash in if indeed a research community organically emerges.

The Great Library should be seen as a work of generations, of which we lay the foundations - in addition to a slowly growing collection of which Mathilde's library forms the first seed, it contains vaults, labs, smithery, a printers guild, weapons testing ranges and more, in its first of many iterations.

Basically, this isn't an Undergrad University, this is a Graduate School for Journeymanling doing their equivalent of post graduate studies.

If the University becomes an animesque place, I now picture wizards fighting Greenskins and Skaven in magitek exosuits and racking up kill counts worthy of Gundam protagonists.

And the Cheerleader club famous for some of the most exquisite and choreographically complex musical performances, done in a way only one who wields the winds could acheive.

Oh, it would totally come out u-cape, wouldn't it?

"Oh, you are a student too? Where do you go?"

" U of A, you?"

"U-kape. Was thinking about UBV or Tee-at for a bit though."

(UBV being Barak Var, and U of A being Altdorf,of course, while Tee-at was TIAT, or Tilea Institute of Art and Technology)

And then you get the occasional edgy one who goes to TILA,
Tzeentch Institute of Liberal Arts

Assuming Mathilde manages to pull a Sigmar and get godhood by the finale... would her unique domains be research, magic and flashy "spy"craft?

I was thinking about how we had an option to coach Panoramia through her Magister Exam, though we didn't take it.
Perhaps that was for the best...

Shortly before the reclamation of K8P.
Mathilde, hurrying off to a council meeting, Panoramia fretting in her wake.
"Where was I... oh yes, if they ask you to infiltrate the Imperial palace to test the Emperors security against assassination, I found either an aerial route, or going via the kitchens most successful. It would be quite easy to spread poison along the that way, you're probably better equipped than me to know what toxins can take out the Imperial guards quickly. That'd be an advantage if you find yourself fighting a squad in the throne room... I got a few bruises that day."
Panoramia frowns, searching for a response, but Mathilde carries on.

"Oh, right, almost forgot. when I popped in to see Heidi, I noted they'd upgraded the doors to the Emperors inner chambers substantially since my bombing attempt... that might not be viable any more."
"I... I'm not sure that'll be on the Jade college exam, Magister."
"Really? Hmm. When you're asked to assess your own loyalties in detail for the Proctors, best remember to put the Empire first, Colleges second. That almost tripped me up..."
Panoramia attempts to rally and take some measure of control of the conversation. "I rather think the Jade College is more interested in our handling of plants, Magister..."
"Well, of course. I did that too, you know. I impersonated a greengrocer for three days, hiding from the Proctors hunting me down across Altdorf. Don't break cover for anything until they bring in the town cryers... hmm, I wonder if they'd pull a double bluff with that now... yes. Probably better to ignore that call."
Panoramia's crest falls further. Mathilde powers up the stairs to Karag Lhune.
"The duel then. My advice is to win. Winning. That's what works for me.
Oh, if you win too quickly, in the opening seconds of the fight, like I did, they might make you fight a second duel. Don't worry about that, as long as you win the first duel, you'll be fine."
"...How, how did you... what magics..."
Mathilde pats her hip. "I just shot him. Did you work on your archery yet?"

Just remember, if we manage to kill Malekith.

We have to deal with Morathi.

But imagine what our rep will be if we manage to kill both of them.

I've been picturing Magic, Secrets and Change.

As Kragg said, about time the world changed for the better, and we've been bringing a lot of positive change.

Have just noticed a certain similarity to another God's portfolios, but if Order can have good War Gods I see no reason it can't have a Nega-Tzeentch too.

I support the library and university option as long we named it as Mathilde University of Karak Eight Peaks aka MUK8P or
Mathilde Institute of Research aka MIR

Got to be more than just magic, I would have use Mathilde Institute of Technology aka MIT but technology is not really a thing and the Colleges would complain if its Mathilde Institute of Magic.

"Huh. Plants and sleepers are a bit of a long game, how do they evaluate that on an exam? Is it theory only?"
"... of course, those cunning Proctors. You've been required to cultivate plants and place sleepers throughout your Journeying, haven't you? And coming all the way to K8P, sitting on a trade route sending people to the Fast East? Wow, Panoramia, I'm impressed. Your network extends from Ostland to Cathay? I've been a bit slack relying on the EIC, I see.

No, don't tell me who, I'll enjoy figuring it out. Plus you never know who's listening, maybe the Jades are watching us now. I was very green before my exam, not nearly suspicious enough."

Nnnot sure about Hogwarts, but, well.

Mathilde seemed genuinely happy that Colleges were there for her.
She is appaled at a waste of talent and lives that slayerdom is.
She loves her libraries and seemed utterly bewitched by archives of KaK.

So honestly, a general library growing into center of knowledge/uni is not really OOC for her, y'know? Or at least, spending a boon on Great Library with amenities for learning, and rest of it all growing around it.

I think that asking Belegar to make a great centre of learning at Karak Eight Peaks, as and when the hold can afford it, is the best approach here. Don't lock it down into a library, or a research institute. Just ask him to make the funding available and then let it organically develop as the facilities expand.

Has the idea of creating a Nobel prize type of institution been raised by the thread? That could be given out to the member of the colleges who published the most important paper of the year.

---------
How about directly above me.

I like to imagine that no, it's just thread madness, and will be replaced by some other obsession by the end of the week.
