[x] Bright, for investigating and teaching the Cardinal, Indic paradigm of Aqshy alongside their usual curriculum (cite)

Incidentally, this is more of a practical problem but it should be noted that actually getting the Grey option involves convincing like, four other LMs in a pretty uphill debate. It's very much not guaranteed to succeed, and if it does it'll be with a lot of compromises, so I suggest for anyone who is voting Grey to consider their fallback Winds.

[X] Brights, for investigation into incorporating the Indic paradigm of Aqshy (cite)

I liked picklepikkl's wording best.

I don't want to hard demand that they teach the Indic paradigm even if they can't make it work for whatever reason.

Still, I'll vote for whatever wording on the Bright vote has the most steam... tomorrow.

For now, I'm off to bed.

This is not correct. Grey explicitly involves us giving the Jades their infrastructure project, at which point they side with us, breaking the tie.

Just a quick favor, if you could make a new voting post rather than editing my wording into this one so I could keep control of the link formatting (it requires my post to be the first one with the wording), that'd be appreciated. There may be words of boney that are ideal to add later, after all.
I don't actually believe including a link saying what we're doing is possible is necessary, or that "as well as the usual curriculum" is necessary.

It seems that's the way it's settled, but I'll wait an hour or so to see if that's really the wording we want to go with.

No, it also works well there. The nobles he'd be mingling with most- that is, the commanders and warriors -are the most likely to have seen Aqshy on the battlefield and be used to it. They'll absolutely love it if he's able to charm them with some inspiring oratory too.
I'm honestly glad he rolled high Diplomacy- I'd prefer high Diplo/low Learning over high learning/low Diplo.

Just because, beyond the fact that he'll be the public face of the Colleges of Magic for a large swath of people, he'll also be interacting in-person with the entire rest of the Electoral Council.

He has a lot of potential power to keep people well-disposed towards the Colleges.

[X] Brights, for investigating and teaching the Cardinal, Indic paradigm of Aqshy

I think it'll work well for him, yeah. He's high Diplomacy and Martial, and he has advisors and a godmother to help keep the sharper knives away from his neck. It's also a form of magic that's very... Easy for people to wrap their heads around, because it's extremely visible.

Uh, what is that 'Indic paradigm' though? Don't want to split the vote, but I missed the discussion because I was busy running around the Empire with a gunline for of magitech rifles and rockets cackling wildly as things that used to cause me Huge Problems melted into purple crystal.

(Elspeth in TWW:3 is stupidly fucking fun what the hell)

I think that extra write in is a bit much, you are asking for two things instead of one and it is unrelated to his education.
Yeah, I don't expect it to gain much traction since it's unrelated to education but I figured it's worth a try - the Brights are known for their military agenda and Waystone reclamation would be right up their alley so it could be an secondary/minor concession. The Amethysts did exchange military aid in return for giving their support.

EDIT:
But upon further thinking, the optics of asking for 2 things (one of which is unrelated) is probably not a good look for Mathilde - could risk being seen as overreaching which is definitely not something the thread will want. So yeah, I'll cross out that vote.

I would also include the technical term, as people have asked what "Indic" means and whatever the Bright college produces will ultimately be of it's own make.

[ ] Brights, for investigating and teaching the Cardinal, Indic paradigm of Aqshy
As a note, did a bit of investigating to see what Boney was using as definitions of Cardinal, Elemental and Mystical. The paradigm you;re after would be Mystical I think. Elemental is the straightforward application (plants for Ghyran, Beasts for Ghur, Fire for Aqshy), Mystical is the metaphorical application (growth for Ghyran, confusion for Ulgu, anger or passion for Aqshy) and Cardinal is sort of negative space defined by looking at the Winds as a whole (dusk and dawn for Ulgu is the example Boney gave). The Colleges apparently don't like Cardinal, as it limits each Wind to it's strengths, rather than stretching them to allow for as much stuff as possible.

Basically, they view Aqshy as centering around passion and feeling, people think that would make for a kick-ass leader and general.
