The most powerful Elvish wizard.Mathilde can't marry Anton.
Mathilde is a Grey Wizard and so she uses the same magical arts that are taught by the elves. It's well known that the most powerful elvish wizards are the Saphics of the kingdom of Saphery.
Therefore if we want Mathilde to become the most powerful wizard that she possibly can then she can't marry a man.
Neck romancing is forbidden loveThe most powerful Elvish wizard.
However, if she were to turn to a certain kind of magic that isn't endorsed by elves but was used by a certain human, then she'd be free to marry all the men she wants!
Can we spend favor or cash to get a staff? What I'm getting is that there are people with the skill but not the inclination to pursue staff-making and I'm wondering if we can convince those people to make an exception if we made it worth thier while. In theory yes, but as Mathilde has become very familiar with, in practice there's not enough hours in the day and better an alright staff now than a perfect staff whenever you manage to find the time to learn woodcarving.
A couple years down the line then. Definitely something to look at for both diplomatic and personal reasons. The Karak Dum expedition is set to begin around 2485, and will be setting off from Karak Kadrin.
We know this one. Back when we were spymaster. Theres no constraint besides the
disapproval of the actual councilor for the action but also no authority, budget or support.
The gong farmers were technically for a Steward, not a Spymaster
I mean theres no reason for the rules to be different.
The Kislevites have reverse harems? However, if she were to turn to a certain kind of magic that isn't endorsed by elves but was used by a certain human, then she'd be free to marry all the men she wants!
If anyone wants to stop the Second Coming of Nagash from marrying whoever she wants*, I welcome them to try!

some stuff i Agee with
This is part of why I dislike court wizard as an option. We are already planning to do a ton of research, so adding court wizard doesn't really feel like it adds anything.I mean theres no reason for the rules to be different.
If Mathilde was Steward she's fine to ride out to poke magical curios if she wants, the runesmith is likely focused on studying dwarf rune works or organizing producing runic tools. The skythane is making warmachines.
She'd equally be fine to ride along on expeditions hunting greenskins and skaven any time she wants. They won't refuse or expect the help.
She can lean on the leader of the Umdungi to get things done, but thats probably stepping on a few toes. Helping the EIC with their paperwork is fine though
Good luck to your hypothetical Mathilde indulging in necromancy while wearing the Belt of Seriously Fuck Dhar.If anyone wants to stop the Second Coming of Nagash from marrying whoever she wants*, I welcome them to try!
*And who wants to marry her, that's also important
You are aware that belts have buckles, right? We can take it off.Good luck to your hypothetical Mathilde indulging in necromancy while wearing the Belt of Seriously Fuck Dhar.
Kragg's belt isn't just a magnanimous gift, it's a kill switch in case Mathilde ever becomes unworthy of it.
You say that like Kragg didn't imbue it with the power of his disapproval and the ability to project it at range. You are aware that belts have buckles, right? We can take it off.
Why wouldn't we want to make the stuff we do in our free time an official job? May not 'add' anything but it certainly would free up some action slots. This is part of why I dislike court wizard as an option. (The other part being the lack of a goal to work towards)
To me, the point of taking a position is to provide a plot to follow while we do our research. I see no benefit to taking court wizard over no position at all. The only difference is that we HAVE to help Belegar deal with stuff that comes up, but I think we would all vote to do that anyway. Why wouldn't we want to make the stuff we do in our free time an official job? Belegars gonna be the one picking our job actions remeber. No job also won't sit at the council table, a whole swathe of that type of chapter is poof. With no job the Grey Order will start poking us to actually do something for the good of the empire. To me, the point of taking a position is to provide a plot to follow while we do our research. Boney has allowed approval voting a for a while now, so I don't see how it could be any moreso.I'll do a quick vote now (still like 20+ pages behind) to get opinion out and because I need to be AFK for a bit.
Incidentally @BoneyM, in the future could I request more approval voting, or whatever the ranked one is called?
In choices such as these and Favour spending, I think the more fine-grained choices of If-Else-If allows the greatest fidelity in selecting what people want.
The job of court wizard is to investigate weird things, if we have no position we can still just ask him about weird things regularly.Belegars gonna be the one picking our job actions remeber.
