Actually, when is the channel project supposed to be done again?

Timing the shadow bridge right when the full rout opens would be a pro move.
Dwarves are not what you'd call swift, and there's too many unknowns at this point to give a firm date. If everything goes exactly according to plan and nothing unexpected crops up, perhaps five years.
This was posted during our meeting with the Chancellor of the Seal in 2483. My guess is the actual completion time will be ca. 2490, or T40.
So, probably really soon, but given how Boney does things, I bet we don't get to know more details on ETA without taking the social action to go check it out. I was expecting "news that the canal was done" to be our external social action for this turn, for instance.

The art is fantastic. Some of the best created for this quest. Although the cactus and general desert vibe threw me. How far south is K8Ps?
K8P is pretty inland and goes even further south than Tilea. It's not quite at Araby lattitude, but it's relatively close. Most of our water sources comes from snowmelt from the mountaintops and underground reservoirs, and the Orcs eradicated the local ecosystem and destroyed the soil with their fungus. Before Panoramia and the Halflings did their thing, K8P looked a lot more like a wasteland than it does now. Helps now that we have an actually healthy water source in the form of our... watchamacallit. That one device that redirects the flow of water which the Dwarves built on Karagril.

Fog harvester. It's a concept that only really works if you have places with regular fog but no rain... Ie, the first major rise in terrain after a large body of water, but not so much of a rise as to condense fully.

Peru and then rest of the northern SA Pacific coast is where most of the IRL ones are, to the best of my knowledge. A few around San Francisco?

We don't use fog or rainwater collection for the water supply from Karagril, the water comes from a natural spring which fills a tarn.

Yeah there's some sort of device that feeds the water from the tarn into the soil, but I can...

Okay, I remembered the word. It's aqueduct:
As the Throngs march back to the Citadel and construction begins on the Karagril fortifications and the Silver Tarn aqueduct, you and Johann consider your haul.
My vocabulary is lacking when it comes to infrastructure based terms if I forgot that.

It's hard to give an approximation of the climate and geography of K8P because a) it's obviously not based on a real location and b) that corner of the Warhammer world doesn't neatly map onto any part of the Eurasian continent, so we can't draw accurate comparisons from reality.

That said, somewhere Iran feels like an adequate approximation of the terrain—mountainous, with a warm Mediterranean-style climate (Pan said K8P has a similar climate to Tilea).

I thought it was a similar latitude, not climate?
Tilean crops take to the K8P soil better, which takes into account more factors than just lattitude. Climate conditions like the frequency of rain, exposure to sunlight, local ecosystem, local water table etc. are all aspects that take this into account. However, as exprienced farmers, the Halflings and Panoramia can probably mitigate some of these factors, although even their expertise hasn't allowed them to grow traditional Moot crops.

I know we talked about this a a few moths ago, but I will be honest my memory is not that good at retaining things that far back, details at least, so what are we going to do. Some stuff seems obvious

Library: Claim the whole of Nuln's libraries using that metalsmith favor and the recent happenings in the city as leverage
Project: Poke Karak Norn, we have the wood elf books, it would be a waste not to take it

But what else, for instance do we want to poke Bretonia at once and if so do we want to go Protector? Because if we do that it makes sense to find something other than Chaos Orcs to kill or some other favor to do and use the Ranald enforced gratitude. the dwarfs are going to get ready for their expedition so if nothing else they could use some help scouting up and maybe getting some of the local greenskins to fight each other. What else...? We could poke those Imperial dwarfs Thorek wanted maps and keys off of, though that seems rather out of the way. On the canal front we seem to be fine.

That's already been taken care of by Middenheim authorities.

Yeah, but we could always help him with the next step in getting those runes, go lost hold diving.

Now I remember, we were talking about going to Mordheim with a giant ball of high level mages and the Protector on, since it would be a project action it even makes sense to rope all the scary people into it, like the archmage, the runelord and Baba-Older-than-Kiselv. Some people thought it was too much of a risk though.

eah, but we could always help him with the next step in getting those runes, go lost hold diving.
I am pretty sure he already got it. I mean those luxury runes he is selling to Eonir had to come somewhere.

If you want to dive to a lost hold, Silver Road Wars 2: Runic Boogalo is happening as we speak. That is where you go for it.

I'm one of those. Thorek, Hatalath and Baba Whateveria are primordial and effectively irreplaceable assets for their respective factions. Putting all of those supremely rare eggs in the same basket is irresponsible. Loosing one of them would be very bad for our relationship with their respective polities, especially Hatalath.

If Hatalath dies under our care, that's giving an argument of truly massive proportion to the isolationist faction. Is he likely to die? No, but the risk is not worth taking.

Concerning all the other members of the WP, loosing any other than the Golds would be a very bad thing. Imagine going to Mira or Paranorh and saying « sorry, we broke your chief demon hunter/most vetted subordinate/ancient lore specialist, can we have another one please? » That would be very damaging to our image, but also the Project as a whole. Even if we can procure a replacement, they would have to be brought up to speed, taking one of our precious AP in the process.

All in all, we shouldn't bring any member of the WP except the Golds anywhere near something as dangerous as Mordheim. And if we still do it, bringing Thorek, Hatalath or the Baba should be out of it by default.

If we want to go to Mordeim we should get an army. It should not be that hard for Mathilde to whistle up an army from somewhere. Either Dwarves, Roswite or Mercenery one.

Incidently keeping track of Mercenaries was an EIC option for some time so if you guys have ambitions in that direction it is something to consider.

And hey another way to spend money. Maybe that will stop wasting our gold on books we would get free otherwise.

Personally i still want to go to bretonnia and kick ork ass. A) because of cool sneaky wizard shit and b) because i want the horse lords on our side (also i have this stupid idea of bretonnian knight teaching our (soon hopefully to be) dark riders how to knight more effectively.)
