Though it does feel a bit silly to have done an entire loop around Kislev City looking at leylines, riding back with a small army in tow, only to go back again for a handful of Ice Witches.
Milica is younger than Ljiljana, I believe, but apparently she's the one having trouble remembering things because she knew enough to send news back to the city but forgot to ask for help from the other Witches.

People are zooming around the place because everyone in Kislev is descended from steppe nomads and some of them still are steppe nomads so they go at bullshit fast steppe nomad speeds. But Ice Witches grew up learning ice witching instead of riding bullshit fast steppe nomad horses. The one Ice Witch who has the skills to move at bullshit fast steppe nomad speeds without magical assistance is already here. All the others could have left a week ago and they'd still be another week away.

"Wait, I read about this. Is this with boots and coins and blood and sometimes troops just disappear?"
I definitely chuckled when Boris bought up "Impossible March of the Damned Soldier". I suppose someone as well learned as the Tsarevich would know, certainly since he's a military man. What I find interesting is that he "read about it". I suppose he read the journal of a soldier who went through it? I certainly can't see the Empire allowing Imperials to publish books about rituals so it had to be a Kislevian.
Going back to this: depending on the exact origins/age of the ritual he might have read it from a Fire Spire source. There was a time when Praag was the biggest center of human magical research and education remember, and a Fire Spire source would indeed probably be in Kislevian.

not if it was a taal woodsmen carrying her
That is true, but I was operating under the assumption that Mathilde would be the one doing the carrying. I could be wrong, but my gaydar's pretty silent on Liljiana. She wouldn't be the type to appreciate Mathilde to a full extent.

Honestly, her loss. I would kill to be carried bridal by Mathilde. She's absolutely shredded.

Now I have this mental image of random Kislevites constantly challenging Mathilde to drag horse-races whenever they notice she can go real fast on her crazy magic horse.

[x] Scout the Shirokij
Of the forces here, only you would have any chance of moving unseen through the Shirokij. Use this to try to scout the enemy.

The woods are full of Secrets

[X ] Urge an attack
From what little you know of Tzar Vladimir, it does seem like it might be preferable for the attack to be made under the command of Tsarevich Boris instead. Argue for the attack to begin before the Tzar arrives, while the gathered pulks are under Boris' authority.

Boris could soon be Borisbro. I support Boris Bro.

[X] Attempt a parlay
The Tsarevich can grant you the authority to negotiate with these intruders in the name of Kislev, though that's easier said than done. Attempt to make that happen without endangering yourself too much.

If the elves are there for a good reason I don't want to take them out for no reason.

"Shut Up And Ride"

I've been looking for a rider who is qualified
So if you think that you're the one step into my stride
I'm a fine-tuned dusk-riding speed machine
With a Hunter hat and a Ranald lean

So if you see me let me know, know, know
Come on now what you waiting for, for, for
My Flask is ready to explode, explode, explode
So start me up and watch me go, go, go, go

Get you where you wanna go if you know what I mean
Got a ride that's smoother than a golden man
Can you handle the curves? Can you Ritter all right?
If you can baby cat then we can ride all night

'Cause I'm Altdorf to Kislev in three point five
Baby, you got the reins

Now shut up and ride
(Ride, ride, ride)

Shut up and ride
(Ride, ride, ride)

I've got class like a '78 graduate
Got a ride with a whole lot of books on the back
You look like you can handle what's under my hat
You keep saying that you will, wish you were a cat

Past your Steppe horse
Ain't got what I got
Don't stop it's a sure shot
And your stallion huh boy I'm sorry
I ain't even worried
So step aside or ride

'Cause I'm Altdorf to Kislev in three point five
Baby, you got the reins

Now shut up and ride
(Ride, ride, ride)

Shut up and ride
(Ride, ride, ride)

Shut up and ride
(Ride, ride, ride)

Ok so bringing in the ice witches will mean they have a bigger impact and put Mathilde in their good graces. Now I am thinking of what they will ask and I think the Fire Spire is what they will ask. Which is good and bad. Good because it has a lot of loot and magical knowledge depending on how the gm runs the campaign. Bad because most of not all people who try to break in die. However again loot and magic knowledge.

She looks down at herself, and the many rips in her clothing with unmarred flesh underneath. "Yha, did not quite reach the handle. You did well, tovaritch. Za-Nekulturny would have been bothersome." She exhales as she looks around the ruined encampment. "Downside of battle without rota, nobody to make carry the loot. Can your ghost-horse carry?"

"Just a person, and whatever they can carry."

"The cat weeps. You got Za-Goblet?" You nod, frown, check it's still there, then nod again and hand it over. "Good. Will fill pockets with silver. You should too."
I recently checked MandaloreGaming's review of Total Warhammer 3 (timestamp is 22:40) and there's apparently a "Babushka" follower that gives you +5% extra post battle loot. Is it just a Kislevite thing for babushkas to be collecting loot?

Why would Mathilde even do that? She certainly hasn't been going around harvesting Troll parts after the battle of Karak Lhune despite Troll body parts fetching a hefty price in the market. This is even putting aside the morality aspect of it because we did use Dragon body parts before. Doing it for money is even more baffling.

If that's a path you want to go down, there's a pretty solid market for regular ol' human corpses. Mathilde could be making a profit off of pretty much every battlefield she ends up on.

Seriously though her time is worth much more than most things you could scavenge off a battlefield. Those few things that are worth it are generally magical curiosities like the weapons and altar we got up North. The best part about this battle is that unlike that one there likely won't be any nope choices for loot like the Khorne armor.
