It is but rituals are horrifically dangerous to any and all people. I do not think the elves would teach them to any who are not magic specialists, and to their minds those are the archmages.

As the top elf magic specialist Teclis would know them and as one of three mages facing massive Chaos invasion he'd be incentivised to teach them even to humans as long as he's convince they're going to help rather than hinder.

Elves might actually be more inclined to teach dangerous stuff to humans (as long as it doesn't massively upset the balance of power) since they care a lot less about human mages blowing themselves up fighting Chaos as long as the process is efficient.

[X] Bring in Ice Witches
[X] Find the Boyar

Our ostensible purpose coming to Kiselv instead of heading back to elftown is making friends with ice witches, let's hang out with ice witches. The other option is because I'm so deeply curious what the Athel Loren forces are here for and this seems like the safest option to investigate that

[X] Bring in Ice Witches

stick to kvas for the rest of the night, which tastes deceptively mild but hits like a runaway bull

Must be Kislev thing. Russian kvas is alcoholic only in very technical sense, about 0,1-0,5%.

That said, kumys apparently goes up to 4,5% - possible to get drunk at this level, but it's still a light beer level at most. There is simply not enough lactose in any milk to make high alcohol content from.

Literally everywhere he goes Johann attracts eyes from everyone. He is a literal magnet for both men and women. Genuinely irresistable dude. Good for him. I'm happy for my man.

The man is literally living Gold almost completely from the waist up I would be surprised if people weren't eyeing him. Plus the fact that he is almost immune to fatigue and can keep up with horses moving fast and you will get a lot of interest from people who value horses a lot. There are reasons that most Gilded Gold Mages are a lot more circumspect about showing of the parts of their body they have transformed.

@Boney boss just so I am clear. What we discovered while looking for the Leyline and the Magical energy moving along it was that the energy that was once sent from Kislev City to Gross Selon is instead part of the flow that is moving from the city towards Praag right?

For the vote I would take either of these two.

[X] Bring in Ice Witches
[X] Find the Boyar

Either we find out some information about why forest spirits who hate Elfs let alone humans are here laying a trap for humans when there are other things they could be doing. Or we bring in enough firepower to force Drycha to think twice about a knockdown drag out fright.

[x] Contact Ostermark
[x] Bring in Ice Witches

Young men and old grannies are both rather useful when dealing with spooky woods.

I wonder if we will get a point of progress to Kislev diplo skill from this action? I mean on the one hand it was pretty informative and varied from where we are standing and Mathilde met all sorts of interesting people from all layers of society... but on the other hand it was quite short, enough so that we have not even tipped into next turn. Actually speaking of next turn, it is kind of a pity we did not go over since we could have taken the protector for all our heroics.

Thinking about it... I think having the protector on us might be the only thing that could convince me to go with fey diplomacy, since if we could solve their issue while under the protector there is at least a chance that a god shouting in their ear about how great and heroic we are would make them consider parley

Want to learn Kislevarin now since I really enjoyed reading about Kislevites this update and sad we couldn't interact with a lot of them because of the language barrier

I mean we do have a trait that would make the learning easier and once we do so Mathilde will be able to read books in the language as well... there is a thought I wonder if Boris has access to any libraries, assuming we all make it out alive maybe we can hit him up for some general lore.

You know, we do have a Johann. While the timing probably doesn't line up considering the accelerated pace of events, it could conceivably be possible to send him to the Imperial army, and simultaneously neatly defuse any potential tensions with the Male Imperyni who might dig into things he shouldn't.

I did some back-of-the-envelope maths, and I figure that between Talabheim and Ostermark, we've spent just under 10 weeks adventuring this turn—roughly two and a half AP—and the only action we have left to do this turn is the Library action.

4 days waiting for Regimand.
8 weeks hunting Alberich.
"A few days" consulting with the Taalites in Gryphon wood.
Two days with the Hedgewise.
Five days in Kislev.

As someone who regularly drinks something very similar, Mathilde's explanation is difficult to visualise if you haven't drank it yourself. The actual drink is sharp, tangy, sour and somewhat refreshing. I used the example of "drinkable yoghurt" to describe it. Koumiss is probably stronger than what I drink, but I can attest that it is quite charming.

Coming from a culture that does have a drinkable/liquid yoghurt (and who has tasted laban as well) that's an excellent comparison.

Although I wonder if an alcoholic kefir would be probably the closest comparison.

If it is akin to yoghurt/laban/kefir, it is definitely refreshing and sour, but I would avoid drinking it on an empty stomach (natural probiotic or not).

Though, that's a personal preference.

I don't bring this up often, because I was pretty sure that Boney would never use her. She and her fellow Gods of Law didn't seem to me like something he would use. But maybe I'm wrong.

Maybe Boney really is bringing Arianka back from the 1st Edition graveyard.

"And in Praag's darkest hour the goddess Arianka shall rise from the dead, and she shall smite the hordes of Chaos and drive them from this land for ever... There shall come a champion - a man of Chaos, yet not of Chaos. Dark his deeds, but darker his doom! And he shall seek out the Crystal Keys and wrest them from the clutch of evil... [...] ...And the Doomed One shall ride out from Praag, across the gushing Lynsk and thence into Norsca. And there, the forces of Chaos will close around him..."—Praag's Book of Ancients

Well we have never really gotten a clear answer on what the Widow is exactly and the Gods of Law are part of the Warp like the others so their being a connection of some kind is not impossible.
