This is all Mira gets, isn't it? She burns a major favor getting a Grey Lord Magister to investigate Alric, and all she gets in return is an unsigned envelope containing a news article.
Mira should count herself lucky. Unlike previous people we've overachieved for, we aren't informing her of our actions by dropping the severed head of an enemy on her desk. This is all Mira gets, isn't it? We have a really good sword. There are very few things that are better dealt with by something other than cannon-blade.
You don't know wizard dad very well if you think Mathy having the spell will make him use it less.I want to learn Cloak Activity before we meet magic dad again so he will stop using it on us.
A reminder that the time Eike becomes eligible for apprenticeship is coming soon. Therefore, teaching classes are a top priority on the self improvement front. So as an aside:
What things did the last mini arc make me want mathy to improve? (Reflexive practice being the current rage and all.)
Finish the sword style because holy fuck the enemies are getting buff and we keep picking 'sword to face' as voters.

Mathy is not as fast in an urban environment, a chasing/tracking trait for skill would be nice.
I will wait for the end of this mini-arc to see if any of those are compounded, or if different ones because more of an issue.
But this is for recording of thoughts for future.
That part was proven beyond doubt when she brought home a live rat.(Mathilde being a cat who saunters off into the night and brings back murderpresents nobody asked for continues to be a distressingly accurate description.)

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just that if we are going to keep doing it, we need to keep working on swording, not get into thinking 'mathy is not really a fighter'We have a really good sword. There are very few things that are better dealt with by something other than cannon-blade.

Uhh, Mathilde didn't one v one Alberich she assassinated him, there was no contested martial roll for him against her the entire update. If we really wanna do a lesson learned vis a vis self improvement the result is "get better at assassinating people".
As I understand it, those teaching classes are precisely for that 1 on 1 mentorship and not for classesNot saying that teaching classes won't provide a boost in experience but would it be that impactful? Apprentices do get 1 on 1 training that's substantially different from teaching a class.
Eike entered the Grey College at turn 34. Mathilde said her training will require three to five years, so she should become eligible for apprenticeship at turn 40 at the earliest, and it might be as late as turn 44. We can easily wait one or two turns before taking teaching classes.A reminder that the time Eike becomes eligible for apprenticeship is coming soon. That is also an incentive to learn Cloak Activity. You don't know wizard dad very well if you think Mathy having the spell will make him use it less.
It will just make him more creative.
I still have images of Mathilde chucking her sword at someone running away* and then teleporting it back to her hand - though in this instance, and indeed most instances where range is either forced on Mathilde or is something she desires; the target is imo, very likely to be the sort that is fast enough to dodge or grab the hilt.
