It Only Gets Worse From Here
I recall; I just miss her being on screen, is all.Generally social actions have to involve some action for the GM to write about. Just checking in can be assumed to be happening in the background I think.

Thorek is going to show up and... what? Have a look around and then leave again?
Thorek is going to show up and... what? Have a look around and then leave again? We haven't yet finished gathering everybody or taken the action to have the big meeting where everyone throws their Waystone knowledge in the pot. I'm not at all clear what Thorek is actually going to do in Tor Lithanel! Is it just a show that "yes, we actually have Runelord support" to build confidence?
Nonsense, they're all hiding out behind the rubble! Sipping mushroom wine and munching on crunchy stonebread.
So is there some selective-hardness going on with the gilding, or is this a *much tougher* than usual stitching needle? (or am i just overestimating how hard the gilded skin is without the combat buffs Johann usually puts on top of it?the Barber-Surgeon stitches the wound closed as best he can around the prosthetic.
You check in regularly over the next few days, and healing seems to be surprisingly rapid, though you're not sure whether to ascribe this to some property of the prosthetic, or as a result of the superior qualities of Johann's still-gilded shoulder.
I'm not confident anyone but mathy and her bosses know about the Library.Thinking some more about what Thorek may be trying to accomplish here, I wonder if he's hoping there might be something useful in the Library of Mournings.
As we all know, Runelords are very averse to writing things down, but elven archmages, with the influence of Hoeth are quite the reverse. We know that the archmages in the elven colonies collaborated with Runelords in the Golden Age - there were archmages living in Dwarf Karaks and runelords living in elven cities. The Library of Mournings is quite possibly the oldest major backed library that survives back to before the Sundering. It's thousands of years older than the White Tower. While the libraries of some noble houses in Ulthuan may be as old or older, they're unlikely to have had anything like the opportunity to gather the records of archmages who collaborated with runelords.
Thorek may be here seeking clues about Golden Age runecraft.
I'm not confident anyone but mathy and her bosses know about the Library.
I don't think she has mentioned it in any of her pitches.
probably because she isn't confident the deal wasn't just for her.
I'd expect something similar to our welcome. Prestige alone would be enough to earn a solidly impressive reception, but add in the 'first dwarf in millenia' and the fact he's here for an incredibly important project, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the Queen herself pop down for a chat.I wonder who will be part of the welcoming committee sent to meet Thorek would be. Not only is he the first dwarf to visit the city in an age, but he's a highly regarded Runelord, head of both his guild and his cult, and a willing collaborator of the Waystone project. You don't get more VIP than that.
Actually, on second thoughts, it'll be interesting to see who doesn't turn up to meet him.
The Queen, a Vicarius, a High House Prince? Who will offer their welcome, and who will snub him?
We were welcomed by three elves; the Queen, the Champion, and a Vicarius who's also a High House Prince. Will he have a greater or lesser reception to us?

Have we seen this modifier before? It seems like a new one. What does it stand for in this particular situation?
I have a hard time placing where all of this is happening. It seems to be in Altdorf, but Panoramia is available for a short notice plan improvement and Egrimm is there too. Also everyone suddenly being in Altdorf is surprising to me. Then again, Max was also available last chapter, despite ruffling through assorted libraries. But on the other hand, what lab space would Mathy and Egrimm be using for the arm experimentation? One in one of the Colleges? A random private room they rented? The procedure itself is surprisingly distressing. Oh, the Barber-Surgeon is perfectly accommodating, professional, and hygienic, and the detachment of the original arm goes off without a hitch. But though you've seen a great deal worse on quite a few battlefields, seeing the same sort of thing performed in a clean and well-lit room by a man who whistles as he works manages to slip past your callouses and leave you feeling quite light-headed. Johann has no such troubles, as Panoramia had supplied a draught with a bit more heft than the traditional laudanum tincture and he was quite thoroughly absent from the entire situation.
Once the detached arm stops dripping, it's swathed in cloth and a runner takes it to the Gold College for it to be safely stored in their ice house, and the prosthetic is introduced to the now-exposed socket. It nestles into place reassuringly, but if you were hoping for something more dramatic to indicate that you were on the right track, you're disappointed. You take a breath, centre yourself, and concentrate your Magesight on the area until you finally see a wiggle of Hysh as a faint tendril wraps itself around what you assume to be the nerve braid. Reassured, you take a seat on the far side of the room as the Barber-Surgeon stitches the wound closed as best he can around the prosthetic.
You check in regularly over the next few days, and healing seems to be surprisingly rapid, though you're not sure whether to ascribe this to some property of the prosthetic, or as a result of the superior qualities of Johann's still-gilded shoulder. By the time Johann is up and moving the prosthetic seems firmly anchored. It's yet to respond to any conscious thoughts, but it doesn't quite dangle limply either - it hangs by his side in a neutral position, the claws (which have been safely sheathed in leather) keeping a safe distance from his legs as he moves around. Something about this drives Johann into the academic landscape, and when next he emerges it's with citations from the vaults of the Great Library - where the Verenans keep books that the other Cults might object to, which usually means the Sigmarites but in this case means the Morrites, who take issue not so much with anatomical knowledge as they do with the measures taken to acquire that knowledge in the first place.
Can we also broach a different topic, like opening up regarding our motives and assumptions when we hired him and/or probing him regarding his own short-to-mid-term hopes and dreams? Or would that be part of the above option anyway?[ ] Egrimm, to try to sound out more information about the Alric situation.
