@Boney, is Cython not an option?

Following question, if it is, and if both Egrimm and Cython socials are included, can it be specified for Mathilde to introduce Egrimm to Cython, or is it something she would or wouldn't do on her own?

Cython's only an option when I have a specific interaction in mind. If I had a way for the Egrimm-Cython interaction to go that seemed interesting, I'd add it, but currently it doesn't seem like there's enough there to go off.

@Boney There are two possible social actions I would like to inquire if we can have.

The first is the ten year anniversary of Abelhelm's death. A reunion of all the Stirland folk and a reminiscing of all that's happened since then essentially.

I've got something similar in mind, but it's for once the war is done and Sylvania is completely reclaimed. The passage of years doesn't matter to the Van Hals, the job does.

The second is more lighthearted. Involving Panoramia in the cultural exploration snippets and having the two of them enjoying the odeons and atmosphere/environment of Tor Lithanel. I really want to see Panoramia's take on all the plants and trees in Tor Lithanel and I think the idea of Mathilde just smiling and nodding while not getting it is priceless.

Are either of those viable?

Once Mathilde is more familiar with Tor Lithanel, and it's more fleshed out as a place in my mind, sure.

Do you have something in mind for that interaction?

Yeah, the full definition is "Concerning a topic that is unfashionable, controversial, or awkward, that might cause some to remain silent where they would otherwise give praise."
People are making sure nobody is going to get grudged over airing dwarven laundry before they try being too enthusiastic then.

Well, with that in mind I will definitely be voting for Galenstra, Thorek and Qrech. The last two I'm thinking Belegar and Julia. I'm tempted to do Horstmann, especially to start gauging him and his reactions and find out what might be bothering him, but I've also really wanted to see Julia for a while now.

I'm trying and failing to phrase this in a way that doesn't sound super weird, but in most depictions Skinks and Saurus' have wider hips and thicker thighs than human males so it could just be Johann drawing conclusions from nonhuman biology.
That could be possible, but Skinks and Saurus are not unknown to Old World Libraries. There are records and depictions of them in scholarly articles from New World scholars. I think Johann wouldn't make the simple mistake of not accounting for their biology.

To me... Julia's never had much importance or appeal. I'd prefer Regimand, but that's just to hang out with our old teacher, not any specific scene I'd like to see.

@Boney after we get our Gyrobomber (and have the insides made comfortable via runes), it is a viable thing for us to take it and bring Anton and his dad to stay for.. two or three weeks (?) on a hoilday to K8P and then bring them home again?

I really want them to visit before his dad passes, and for them to meet Pam.

The Second Secret is the one that makes Dhar explode.

Oh right Second Secret. I am so used to @Omegahugger arguing for necromancy that my mind filled in the blanks. Of course this is probably just a case of doing that but sneakier. If so I commend the effort.

It could be a case of Amazons imitating the Lizards' magic items. After all they have lived inc close proximity for a while now.

It could be, I'll give it some thought next social turn.

Johann wouldn't have a lot of reasons to learn about them and if he's read about them in passing they wouldn't necessarily be on his mind. Both he and Mathilde are making educated guesses at this point.

I think that as we're living in an elf city we should take a elf social option, both so we can explore a new area of Boney's world building but also so we can try to make some elven friends, as I think building emotional attachments to the place and its people is important to get the most out of this arc.

We're in a new place so let's fully explore and engage with it rather than stick in our existing comfort zones.

Ah, but lizardmen are thought of as jungle savages squatting in ruins. They don't look humanlike and they don't trade or do diplomacy - it's easy for an Imperial like Johann to never consider them as possible makers. Once he has the idea of the arm being female it's again an easy mistake to think lizardmen don't exhibit sexual dimorphism and so rule them out as intended users without considering the shape of them.

This is a good point. From what I recall human explorers assume that the cities must have been built by people who looked a lot more like them, other humans or elves or dwarves.

This is reinforced because they think the Lizardmen are just the tropical version of beastmen, and everyone knows that the beastmen don't build. This might be another reason to dismiss the idea that it might be made for a lizardman. Any beastmen made object would be assumed to be saturated in dhar and have a much less sophisticated design. I'm not sure how much Teclis would have told the Colleges to contradict this, how much they could have learned afterwards, or how much of that Johann would know anyway.

This is a fair point, but the one actual elf contact this turn does not really interest me that much as a social contact. I mean he is fine politically, but I just do not want to read that scene over others.

The Chancellor of the Imperial Treasury thinks the Lizardmen are jungle savages living in ruins. Mathilde has no opinion one way or the other. Tichi-Huichi is active at this time as has been mentioned several times by Boney, and he works as a mercenary in exchange for plaques. Mathilde used a Lizardmen Messenger of the Gods, Uxmac, as one of the glyphs in her staff making. Both Horstmann and Mathilde speculated that the hands would fit with the Lizardmen. Magisters are not as predisposed towards instant dismissal as a politician, they're trained to consider situations from multiple angles.
