[X] Conserving Strength - Spending time running about may well end up being less valuable than Hultressa focusing purely on conserving her strength and building her focus and power for what is to come. Also, apparently, something about scrolls, possibly something about potions. Either way, it would mean no effort put behind anything else but ensuring that Hultressa is able to bring her full focus and power to bear when it comes to the Auction proper.

[X] Pyramid - The more bombs, the more confusion amongst the overseers, the more manipulation, the greater the effect when the trigger is finally pulled. The greater the effect, the worse of Alyssa's position on the Ark will be, and the worse the food crisis would become. Hultressa will already be spending time with this, and has done so already, but the more she does, the better the end result - or worse, if you are Alyssa Voidreaper. The kind of destruction that could occur if properly focused upon could be quite effective if triggered at the right time, even if it is just to force Alyssa to send away some of her strength at the Auction to investigate.

The Druchii are a powder keg waiting to go off, and the cults of the Druchii are eyeing each other for signs of weakness.

Every druchii we manage to turn against each other is at least 2 additional swords not pointed at us. It doesn't matter how much additional manpower we get, as a united Druchii front would eviscerate our entire party. Our hopes lie in the chaos, the division, the infighting being enough for us to concentrate our force and gtfo.

Every spare effort we have should go into peeling open the chaos and infighting, and ruining the illusion of stability

[X]: Conserving Strength.

I feel like I'm harping on it a bit, but if there was ever a "curse your sudden and inevitable betrayal" personified its the Druchii. These are people with plots on plots on plots. The contingency plan has contingency plans. Every single option has at least been game theorized out by someone. But they are immortal schemers, that means they have to do the they know that I know, but do they know that I know that they know mental gymnastics. When the bombs go off the young and brash will seize the opportunity to slip a few knives in. The majority are going to look to the nearest authority figure that they owe and watch them, who will watch Alyrssa and she needs to react. She has to balance the act of who is loyal enough to investigate and not lie? Can they be sent away without her enemies realizing this is as vulnerable as she will get and strike? Ultimately if we make her lose control, the ark loses, every druchii for themselves with the food supply being threatened and a sudden lose? All bets will be off and that is our opportunity.

It's because she knows it's purely on recognizance of her sacrifice, and that there was no situation where he would have willingly consented to anything. He's a loyal man, and his wife knows it.

Saying there was a situation where there'd be something without his consent? :thonk:

Abertha considered disregarding consent at some point, didn't she? 😅

I like big boom. And though I know there would probably be a use for the bombs we have already made even if we don't go for Pyramid, something in my says "but that's what they were made for!"

Reinhardt didn't stumble, but he did stutter step. His nose flared as he struggled to contain his glare.

"Who told you this?"

Aberfa grinned again.

"Oh, you care much for Aberfa, ey? Too bad, you marry another woman before you met Aberfa."

"Did one of – Magnus! Come here!"

The heir of Ostland peeled off from his conversation with Mena and approached swiftly.

"What's wrong Reinhardt?"

"Aberfa has been telling me of the character of some of the people Ostland has been sending to Albion."

The lightness on Magnus' face faded as he took in his friend's expression, quickly becoming stormy on its own.

"What has happened?"

Not really, she respected Reinhardt for it, if Reinhardt would have left his wife, he would not have had her respect. It's why she kept flirting. She was also dangerously risking her life, and using humor to hide her anxiety, worries, troubles, concerns.

Aberfa was the only southern Albion leader to be trying to do something substantial, and then she succeeded, but every step of the way she knew she might fail, that everything is a risk. The only silver lining she got is learning her side won after she died. Small wins, but, hey, they won! And the cost was just herself, most of her tribe, and a number of humans.

(Disarmament: 71-20+5+19+Gwendolyn Martial(12)+Reasserting Self-Control(10)=97/100)

Gwendolyn's bare foot slams into Eldyra's face, shattering her nose.

The Druchii child's teeth are bared in a feral sneer, a faint red dot glowing where her irises would be in the inky black totality of her eyes, and there are streamers of unholy darkness billowing from random points on her body. How she managed to get that kind of velocity from a sitting position in a chair, you can only presume. Either way, the strike is effective, to the point that it comes dangerously close to forcing Eldyra's head backwards at an angle that could be considered fatal.
"BAH GAWD AS MAH WITNESS! SHE IS BROKEN IN HALF!"

"GWENDOLYN WITH THE STEEL CHAIR! OOOOHHHHHHHH!" (would've actually been funnier if she followed it up by breaking a chair on Eldyra's head)

Thanks for the amazing chapter as always torroar, and keep up the good work. Can't wait for the next one.

Closer vote than expected, and rare is day players choose to take a day off from doing stuff.

Hmmm.

Am changing my vote to

Let's hope we can pull a repeat of saltkalten here, let's give the druchi a second whiff of gunpowder

Huh... We left ONE Whitewing back at Salkaten? well, would worse come to pass, their tradition would continue. as much consolidation that would be...
y'know, I competly forgot about that one. But keep in mind, who's to say that that one didn't attempt to follow the ark to catch up with his group? Maybe he's back in Ostland or he's one of the prisoners somewhere.

We are known as the Graf of Cannons so you know what? Sure, one last big boom.

Her's. All White Wings are womans. The order Anna got was to not pursue, and She likely listen to the gun-maniac.
I was refering to the Tradition of Whitewings, as in Bastards daughters of Parravon sticking together. Even if she would to be the last of right now, she will simply be the oldest of the new ones.

This vote somehow fills me with dread. Good job Wordsmith.

I don't know if a comeback is possible at this point but I will change my vote regardless. Tho I still want to see Roland roll 9 nat 100's and solo all the higher ups, pyramid bros convinced me. Time to send these black and tans to kingdom come.

It's 36 to 31 vote count right now. Five vote differences are absolutely overcomable, especially given what torroar said about the big fish of the relevant Pyramid deliberately making it prime conflagration bait if he were to bite it

The more potential claimants Hultressa can gank, the more personnel Voidreaper will need to dispatch in order to keep the shitstorm under control! And that in turn means the weakness on display will be even more severe! We might not need to confront Voidreaper directly at all, as she'd be ganked by one of her rivals before we even get the chance to try!

Might as well.
