You gotta learn to take a compliment and when to ignore stuff. I'll stop it there but your self-deprecation levels are hitting worrying extremes.

That's not what I was intending. I just currently prefer to not go in for comparisons between Warhammer quests, Divided or otherwise, for the most part. The doing of such is the thing that usually ends with my brain twisting itself around. Praise is kind, praise is welcomed, praise built upon 'betters' or 'worse' or 'more' or 'less' is not great. I'm doing what I can, Boney is doing what they can. And so it goes. No worries atm, yeah?

Does anything think it might be possible with Anna's recent success to Vaportank to go to the Engineer/Gunnery schools down south to trade tech plans at all? I think it might be worth it and would be nice to enter some kinda agreement between our schools in Empire rather than be lowkey rivals literally all the time.

After all, the schools themselves never did anything to make us think they can't be trusted rather than some saber-rattling a bit when they reacted to Ostland excepting non-human/female students rather than doubling down on tradition.

I sorta feel like an ass. I was trying to be reassuring that your players weren't cheating, while also making more general commentary that sock puppeting to any serious degree is an outlier prompted by a very special circumstance in another quest and not general behavior on the site. >_>

Not really. They don't have anything that we really want and nothing that compares to a vapor tank.

I mean they did try to spy on us, so I wouldn't really call them trustworthy.

You know who we should trade with? Araby. The wiki states they were the first human nation to figured out flintlocks even if they aren't widespread there due to cost. Last I checked we were still using wheel locks or match locks.

And when did they figure that out? Before or after the Magnus era? Because all things considered given the relatively small distance that we'd have picked up on it's existence.

I checked the wikis and according to a citation from Warhammer Fantasy RPG 2nd ED -- Old World Armoury the flintlock was invented in Araby at the exact same time the Empire started using wheel locks. However due to the facts guns are not as widely used in Araby as say the Empire this development is not well known.

@torroar, is Rhupesh VII a canon character to this quest? According to the wiki, Rhupesh showed up in "Gotrek & Felix - The Serpent Queen". Rhupesh's existence is somewhat controversial when given some deeper thought, probably a good thing they are obscure.

Who the hell is Rhupesh?

*Looks him up in wiki*

A Dwarf found as a baby by humans in Nehekara in a scene similar to that of the Biblical Moses and who eventually became...a Tomb King?! The hell?

Well...I mean if Dhampirs and a Dwarf vampire can exist according to the vampire Genevive books and an Elf Vampire can exist according to End Times then a Tomb King Dawi isn't too much of a stretch.

Besides, Rhupesh wasn't a baby that was stolen from the parents, if it follow Moses story, then they're either forced to abandon him (Which knowing Dawi, seems unlikely.) or they're attacked and took a gamble to float him down the river with a runic script that contained details of his actual name/family tree.

But he was picked up by the Nehekara instead and by all right, lived a fulfilling life.

Finally catching up! Ready and eager to join the discussion and vote!

Two question, though. Since I only jump through threadmarks, is there any topics that, umm, need to be carefully treaded about aside from what already said in the opening notes and a certain Karak?

And since there is 10 pages between the last update and this page, has the current vote locked yet?

Yeah, exactly. I don't really see him as 'controversial', myself. Sure, it apes a little of the Moses thing, but Rhupesh was pretty obviously a Necrotect-favoring royal, not a mere commoner or anything. He was elevated to royalty, and I haven't read the Serpent Queen in a while but I think he was regarded as being blessed by Geheb for his strength. Because, you know. He was so strong. And...close. To the earth. >.>

I feel extremely certain that Araby and flintlocks and wheellocks have come up in this very thread before. Multiple times, possibly even. The latest I can recall is me and Salty discussing them. If they didn't, and were just in pms, them I'm sleep deprived and crazy, but I'm hoping I'm not. The latter, at least.

Welcome to now. As for your questions?

Be careful when it comes to talking about certain topics:

- Don't bring up the old Albion quest until you know enough context about it to contribute something useful and even then leave that to the old players of that quest that are now in this quest.

- Don't try to suggest ways to "cure" Anna of her permafrost condition unless we run into some sort of powerful magic that is friendly and even then there are better uses for such things. Always.

- Don't start talking about how a faction should be exterminated. Instead talk about how to defeat them short and long term.

- Suggest technologies thoughtfully so that they fit the setting and our research tree.

- Edit: On second thought don't feed anyone salt or feed on their salt. Ever. It's in the thread banner. That's the line at the bottom of the thread on each page. My bad on naming someone specific for this.

The current vote is locked. Try To Convince The Albionese To Accept Jade Wizard Healing won.

Hmmm, should we talk about Albion at upcoming Elector's Meet, assuming everything goes well enough for Magnus and company to come back to explain what happened? I assume news will reach Emperor either way since wizards would no doubt report to him in general.

In fact, considering he gave a place for them in the first place, I figure the wizards' loyalty is equally strong between Big Magnus and the Colleges in general, and right behind their original elf teachers who are no longer around.

Depends on if it gets brought up with the Elves. Albion in and of itself isn't really important to the Empire in any way. The only one to have stake in it is Ostland.

EDIT: When is the next electors meet anyway? Yearwise. I think we are due one soon enough, right?

The Elector's Meet should be next turn, yeah.

We are anticipating a huge unholy crusade of Beastmen hitting the Empire hard in the near future. It is fairly likely that by the next Elector's Meet, either:

1) We will be so busy dealing with the beastman attack and/or its aftermath that we won't have anything to spare for Albion, OR

2) Any serious diversion of effort to deal with the Albionese situation would probably weaken the efforts the Empire will badly need to repel the huge beastman attack, which is clearly an "all hands on deck" scenario.

RE Rhupesh - I've always wondered if the Nehekharans and Karak Zorn had any sort of historical relationship. I always like to protect Karak Zorn when I play as Settra in Total Warhammer 2.

I'm still near certain that the beastmen will attack the Elector's Meet itself in Nuln in a massive decapitation strike, but in event I'm wrong I'm not saying Empire should send anything to Albion but just enter formal talks with in general. Wizards will push for closer relationship if nothing else.

Still, I understand other important things to handle just trying to think if there is things we should mention to Empire as a whole when it comes around.

Possibly. The map does seem to show them as near a pass leading to Nehekaran cities. The Lizardman 5th Edition also mentions the way to Karak Zorn was sealed by the Undead of Nehekara years ago however whether that means they had once traded with them is a mystery. The only thing we know for certain is that the Lizardman city of Zlatlan fought them around -2000 IC after which the hold basically vanished from history.
