Will be interesting if Wood Elves of Laurelorn start hiring themselves in large amounts to Empire in an effort to improve their overall situation and decline since having more money and support from Empire rather than a hostile relationship is to their benefit, in having good meat shields if nothing else.

they are already in a position to seek out a favorable alliance with the trident they wouldn't be interested in the rest of the empire having all the political support they need , they don't really have any real issues with money the are elves after all a few high quality elven products and maybe a few minor enchanted nic nacks would be more than enough to make a sizable profit especially with the trading channels opened by the trident .
as for what they might use that gold for , I can think of a few reasons
1) importing raw goods that they cannot acquire form their forest in large amounts or at all either due environmental concerns or simple lack of them
2) while there isn't a single finished product the wood elves would consider of worth so much as the thought of buying from the empire there are good form Ulthuan they would want
3) while I doubt they would consider hiring mercenaries unless they are very desperate due to their trust issues it is still an option brought about by have large amounts of imperial gold

I don't really see the point in telling the other Trident members about the situation in Kislev. Alexandra explicitly said that foreign intervention would just make things worse, so what's the point in telling Ortrud and Stephan about something they can't do anything about?

Likewise in regards to the Quinnsbury Lodge, @Nachtigall made a good point, in how Magnus probably kept them a secret for a reason. I'd rather not have pogroms against Halflings in the Empire if the Lodge is made public knowledge.

With that said, I'm changing my vote.

[X] Plan: Albion and trade, no Lodge or Kislev

Yeah, they're doing their regular trade with Kislev, whatever amount it is. But it's not like we're looking to intervene or they're likely to intervene. No need to stir the pot here.

I'm not concerned about pogroms. It's a bit of a leap between letting Ortrud and Stephen know and it being public knowledge. I'm not entirely opposed to them being made aware of its existence. It just seems like the Lodge's part in the matter was settled by Magnus himself already. If Freddy didn't see a need to mention it before, not much reason to now, right? The families in Marienburg that are plotting against us was just recently discovered by our own efforts, however. That's relevant information.

I kind of want to let Ortrud and Stephen know that Magnus brought the Lodge up during the meeting. But I think Magnus said what he did with Frederick there because he knew he'd keep his mouth shut about the details afterward.

Remember, Ortrud and Stephen met Frederick right after he left the Elector's Meet room, then they went to drink and talk. They obviously didn't push him about revealing precisely what was said in there. They're smart enough to realize some sensitive things might have been said in there and wouldn't want Frederick to spill the beans.

On the other hand, Frederick only heard the name at the meeting. He found out about the Lodge thanks to his own intelligence. Hm, I'm still surprised it wouldn't have been mentioned in any of the Trident Meetings since he talked to Hagrid, though. Is there a reason for Frederick not sharing that info (during later meetings, after confronting Hagrid) beyond him thinking Magnus wants the Lodge kept secret (based on the Elector's Meet meeting), @torroar? Maybe he just didn't see the need or relevance, but I could use a bit of clarification.

@Massgamer , @phreys , @Captain Hunt , what plan have you people chosen? You people copied a plan in it's original form before that plan was changed later. There is now a plan that is close to the original plan under a different name. What plan have you people chosen? Plan: Threats and Trade Deals or Plan: Albion and trade, no Lodge or Kislev?

They don't have Research Actions, no, as they haven't constructed engineering schools of their own, and others potentially inclined for such things go west/east depending on if starting in Ostermark/Nordland to Wulfenburg. Then, those educated often peel back home, such as with Nordland/Ostermark nobility and commoners both, helping maintain their war machines and such, others finding comfortably paid scholarly positions, etc.

Also because I'm not doing Kislev Research Actions, Ostland Research Actions, Nuln Research Actions, Altdorf Research Actions AND Nordland and Ostermark.
Kislev has research options? I don't recall them having an Engineering School in canon. What do these research actions entail?

Also, reading all that really makes me want to get started on the University of Wulfenburg sooner rather than later. I want to really solidify Wulfenburg's status as the educational capital of the Northern Empire..

I assume Kislev learning actions are more army tactics, magic then engineering

Trait: Dwarven Taught Blacksmith [Master] - Under the tutelage of the Master Dwarf Blacksmith Borgin Thingrimsnev, Alexandra von Hohenzollern has become one of the most proficient human smiths of the Old World (+2 Martial, +3 Learning)
Blacksmith: I forge the blades to strike my foes down! + 1 martial and learning, Weapon Research bonus
Weapons prolly. Like those wrist-mounted bolt throwers her Ogre bodyguards were sporting.

Continued Lore of Ice/Haglore magic research isn't unlikely mind.

We had research actions a long time before we had an Engineering School.
Most of our research actions prior to founding the Gunnery and Engineering were for founding the school though. We had some research option, yes, but they were pretty limited compared to what we can research now thanks to the school.

Not to mention that the QM already confirmed that Ostermark and Nordland don't have research actions. This presumably also applies to every other Imperial province that doesn't have an Enginneeing School (Reikland, Wissenland, and Ostland).
