Can I have a citation on this? Because while the mutation rate is bad I didn't think it was nearly this high.

I'm sticking to general averages here. Bretonnia is really lousy for Beastmen, but some parts of the Empire are pretty good.

I don't have citations because GW never gives any, just that the mutation rate is high enough that most small villages can expect to see one or two crop up in a given generation, and the Beastmen always outnumber everyone who comes against them, no matter how many losses they've suffered.

Couple that with "Chaos can just push the "Spawn More Beastmen" " button to bring mutation rates to the high end for a year or so, and it's a pretty safe bet that the mutation rate is, on average, somewhere between three to ten percent of any given generation.

So 3-10 % chance of becoming a beastman over your lifetime. Assuming average lifespan of 60 for the majority of the populace.
0.05%-0.15% of becoming a beastman per year. Which means just about every year a settlement of at least a thousand people will see a couple.

The best way to make sure BEastmen don't spawn from humans is to get everyone into hospitals to give birth - and then make sure the nurses actually fucking kill the beastmen spawn that are around.

[X] Bloodthirster and Legion: You must trust Magnus. Some unspoken rule of one-on-one combat has been enacted, and not a single Khornate approaches. Any that do are cut down by their fellows. If you break that rule…you aren't sure if they'll swarm or not. Besides, the Bloodthirster is the greater threat, ripping and tearing apart your lines! Reiksmarshal Drakenhoff is heading right towards the damn thing, but he is but one man with a runefang. It would be better if there are two. Besides, you can shift an army to assist, which is far more than you can concentrate into the small part of the battlefield that has cleared for the titanic duel. You would be a burden on Magnus in that, and even worse a detriment.

I hope Magnus holds up or we're fucked.

Either ways, get rid of the bloodthrister and get the mages to focus on thorgar.

We'll need a bit blessing, tons of cannon fire and shit tons of luck to hope to injure the bloodthrister severely.

Revised it to 3-10% of any given generation instead of per year, that was a mistake from me snapshotting.

Still to high, mutations do not occur nearly that frequently and even then when they do it's because of specific stimuli. Warpstone contact, the warpstone moon etc. More importantly turning into a mutant doesn't mean you become a beastman. They are distinct. It's possible to become a beastman after becoming a mutant but that is far from assured.

In fact the largest source of mutants that become beastmen is supposed to be mutant babies left in the forest to die.

The reason the beastmen aren't ever wiped out as a faction is because the empire has enormous amounts of forest land and no viable way of actually killing them all.

Guns (For Bonus to Handgunner rolls)

"Report, Sergeant Hans." Reikmarshal Drakenhoff was heavily bandaged, to the point where most men would probably succumb to unconsciousness. However, most men were not as large as he was, nor as used to fighting wounding. As he stood, the man was merely irritated whereas most who be gasping and trying to stay unconscious. "Where does the Imperial Foot currently stand in Ostland's armies?"

"The detachment of Imperial Foot in Ostland has been relegated towards training the Ostland Army of Ostland and Army of Forest." Sergeant Han's reported to his ridiculously bandaged superior. "During battle, we operate under the command of the Elector Count as separate army units, to ensure our maximum effectiveness!"

"What say you of the effectiveness of their troops?" The Reikmarshal reclined lightly on his chair, content with the use of the Imperial Foot. Using them as the elite troops that they are pleased him, though spreading them amongst the 'common' army would have had its own benefits. "Can they compare?"

"In terms of survivability and response time, no they cannot." Sergeant Hans reported with a shake of his head. "They lack experience as the Foot does, Reikmarshal, they cannot move with as speedily or fight in melee as we do despite the similarity between us and they. However, they are far better than the Handgunners of Tabelcland and Stirland for a key reason."

The Reikmarshal watched as the Sergeant presented his rifle.

"What of it?" Drakenhoff frowned, the Imperial Foot sergeants did not do anything without clear reason, especially before the Reikmarshal himself.

"This gun was not made in Nuln, Reikmarshal, my own was lost as we sallied to rid Hochland of the greenskins trail of kindred." The Sergeant explained, before carefully disassembling the gun before Drakenhoff's eyes. The movement was fluid, long practiced, not something one expected could be done with an unfamiliar weapon. "In the span of three years, the Count has recreated the Guns of Nuln and has implemented them all of his troops."

A savage smile came across the Reikmarshal's features.

"Then, that would mean we have nearly half more Imperial Foot that we had originally."

"Indeed, Reikmarshal." The Sergeant, as tough as they were made to ensure diligence in every soldier of the Foot, give his own vicious smile in response to the Reikmarshal's own. "12,000 handgunners, all with at least a two years of experience fighting against orcs and few veterans of the campaign against Gruber."

"My, it's almost as if Count Hohenzollern intends to make his own Imperial Foot in the North." The Reikmarshal laughed lightly, spirit emboldened by the thought, if only lightly. "Had that man not be… himself, I would worry for the safety of our nation."

The Sergeant silently agreed, but made no comment.

"Hmmm… see to it then, that our men coordinate as much as possible with the Handgunners of Ostland, Captain."

"Reiksmarshal, I am a S-."

"I know what I said, now do as I ordered."
Are we making the Imperial Fist?

I think Alectai might have been referring to the amount of people affected by Winter's Eve.

That said I don't really think we're ever given an actual number in any source, we can only make estimates.

Also from what I recall from Knight's Quest animals can also be mutated into beastmen by the Chaos Moon can't they?

You know, it is a damn shame we can't arrange for these greenskins to appear in Naggaroth.
It would be so good to see Malekith's face when he has to deal with this invasion that's been busy fighting Khornates before.

However, just before you do, you wriggle your flask out of its holder and drain the thing. As you lower it from your lips, you can see Aurelion wrinkle her nose at you, though as you raise an eyebrow and offer it towards her she flips her hair and turns away. Hmm. Maybe she just didn't like it the last time she had some.
So tsuntsun.

"S-stupid human. It's not like I enjoyed drinking your crappy alcohol. It was just a heat of the moment thing."

That warboss is awesome since he takes his heart falling out after a big fight like a boss.

He also orders the death of all the Dark Elves present which already puts him in my good books. Silly Dark Elves thinking they can control the Orks.:p

Nearly fell out.

The skin and muscle fibers and fat keeping it from falling out were gone, it was basically kept in by gravity and the specific tilt of Gorebash's torso at the time.

Greenskins have a tendency to sometimes ignore wounds that should be absolutely mortal.

For instance, refusing to accept a dislocated spine and just straining really really hard to fix it.

*Inaudible Terror Screams*

I was right, It was a FUCKING Exalted Slaughterbrute. You cant even field such masses of fuck you on tabletop, and that allows godsdamned Dread Saurians.
And he duelled it to death, what manner of combat related butchery black-hole is that Warboss.
