Looks like the Honiani and Yan-Ros might reach 500 before we've finished ratifying all those who are already waiting. Man, our Diplomancy is just too good.
 
I don't think we've ever seen this sort of development before. What is this specifically?
I'd guess hospitals to treat wounded in the case of a war with Cardassia. Leas Akaam and Celos are close enough to the frontlines to send people there but not close enough for the Cardassians to hit them that easily.

Clearly, my plan is the best because it uses all of our pp exactly.
 
So new shipyards became much more expensive (except at Gaen, which only became moderately more expensive) and expansions also became more expensive. Nothing seems to have become cheaper (edit: reduce militarization and increase threat became slightly cheaper).

I think these are the picks I'd like, before going into shipbuilding and research stuff I don't know enough about (both of which are pretty important, so if the planners say they need more than 150pp for those parts we'll drop some of these. Maybe one of the Medical Centres?). No Starbases because we have an upcoming tech that will make them cheaper.

So new shipyards became much more expensive (except at Gaen, which only became moderately more expensive) and expansions also became more expensive. Nothing seems to have become cheaper.
That might be due to the increased strain on our logistics loops - maybe if we manage to ease the strain on those, they'll go back down?

@OneirosTheWriter I note there isn't an option to "Acquire additional resources for Starfleet Intelligence Operations, 20pp (Will improve ops teams next time they are required)". It wasn't there last year either, but I thought that was because we hadn't used an ops team that year. I'd originally read it as a single-use boost to their next operation, but given that it's not here was it a permanent boost? Or is there some pushback on spending too much on intel ops?

We really shouldn't request any border zones when we don't (currently) have the ships to garrison them and don't know when we can draw down on the GBZ force.
 
Could someone involved in shipbuilding and/or research comment on what we want from this snakepit in those areas? I'm reluctant to build a plan when I don't know what we want for them.

Well it's possible that some policies might convince either the Pacifists and Hawks or the Expansionists and the Developers to agree but generally speaking that should be unlikely.
It's actually quite possible on perpendicular issues - as in E/D for P/H and vice versa. And just plain "vote as you want, it's not party issue". Since stable coalitions are nearly impossible now (because Mercantile are, well, mercantile) we should see more of that.

Nash specified that this is a temporary surge of ships to do her assault and then they get sent back again. I see no difficulties garrisoning a new border zone once that's done, and I don't see why it would be a big deal if we don't garrison the new border zone until it's done. The Council aren't dummies... they understand why we might have to wait an extra quarter.

I'd rather order the border zone now than wait an entire year to do so.

Why go for Vice Admiral Medical when you could use that 30pp to get HBZ listening posts for 25pp and get a UP expansion instead of two of the 1mt berths?

Also, San Fransisco Fleet Yards gets the HIP bonus so expanding it is strictly superior to otherwise equivalent expansions elsewhere.

Aren't we fairly heavily limited by our Enlisted supply? Wouldn't getting the Service Academy make more sense than a Licori push?
