Here's a plan focused on security, mainly on the following items:
  • Ensure the interrogation does not go horribly wrong.
  • Improve our security against any Westphalians that are ticked we knocked off Warlord.
  • Make sure our engineering team is ready for the experimental tech we're getting here.
  • Make sure our transformations are functionally free actions (THIS ONE'S PRETTY IMPORTANT)
Considering transformation is going to be one of our key gimmicks, we need to make sure we can use it with impunity.

Our security net though is practically maxed out? And I'm still taking the Security Net project.

I mean, realistically speaking, we've hit the point of diminishing returns there. And calling in Cavalier means that he can't really be used for whatever the Legion's going to be up to this turn, when we can swindle them with our own guy?

[X] Plan: Advance the Earthly Flag!

The shield is fast and I prefer adding Katarina on it. No immediate deployment needs, so no rush.

DaLintyGuy: The Staff's Gifts
"On the first day of Earth Force, The Major gave to me... A blank check for me and Hen-ry!" Wilde sang as he wheeled in the trolley with the home made birthday cake on top, in what was perhaps not the best attempt at a melody you had heard. Nor was it...

"Wrong song entirely." Katarina covered the eyes of her avatar with one hand, turning it away from the screen slightly as if to better shield herself from the embarrassment.
As for you, you keep your grin internal and project an air of seriousness as befit the only adult in the room. Excepting Ignatov, he could be counted on to reign in the excesses of the others... Under most circumstances.

"Hey, I thought it was fitting." The renegade engineer replied easily, waving the butter knife in his hand in the general direction of his vocal detractor. "Besides, who here brought the cake?"

"Only because you wouldn't let me use a fabricator, Doctor." Ivanna says as an aside to the older man. "It would have been perfect."

Before you can interject or Ignatov can reply Wilde levels his implement of sweet partition at the screen the AIs were using as their "face". "Your mathematically precise constructs are no match for the power of lovingly baked baked goods!" Said cake was a simple double layer with an inexpertly applied thick layer of frosting. Now missing a wedge with extra cuts from where Wilde had changed his mind on the portions he was doling out to the humans in the room.

"If I may, sir?" Sasaki interrupts, turning heads around the room as she enters the minikitchen that served the Command Center. "As it will take some time to serve everyone I was thinking that we could get started with the gifts."

"Well..." You put on as long-suffering of an expression as you can. "If we must, then."

Wilde grins, abandoning his knife in the cake and darting for the door, allowing Henry to smoothly cut in to replace him. "Just one second boss!"

It's with a grin that you watch him leave. He might be a goofball, but he was a lovable goofball who knew what he could get away with. And was a vital asset to the project.

"Knowing what he's going to be coming back with, I'm a bit ashamed to only have this." Ignatov slides a high end consumer electronic across the table with a sheepish grin. "The girls and me did work it over some to allow for it to be used for work but the smart crystal the Kausen have hasn't worked out yet."

"Thanks anyway." You assure him. "Nobody 'had' to get me anything."

"It's still the principle of the matt-" Ignatov insists, before Wilde returns with a triumphant shout and a sizable box in hand.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it's the latest piece of equipment from the DFRI labs!" Walking forward to set the box on the table his smile widened. "As a team effort between the Engineering and K-Lab departments at the behest of our lovely lady-" He gave a short bow to Sasaki, who settled for nodding curtly at the recognition. "We have what will surely be a good investment! Innnntroducing-" He pulled the box off of the stand beneath. "-the Miniwolf and Beowolf ModelMechs!"

Your eyebrows raise to the ceiling at the foot tall model mechs that had been inside the box. One was a metal model of the Beowolf as it had been when Callaghan had fought Bandit, while the other...

"Collectibles like no other! Fully machined from the same materials that produced the originals and articulated to allow for manual configuration! And yes... This is K-Mesh."

The other was a foot tall model of the true Super Robot that was still slumbering in it's bay right now. Gleaming red and gold, with both Combination packs present and articulating and correctly treated...

"Well. Wow." You say simply, reaching out and picking up the zirvitium V-33 pack and checking it's range of motion. "...I guess I have the best paperweight ever now."

"It will be some time before K-Tech becomes something that can go outside the base." Sasaki agreed. "But they are a long term investment, as well as a nice challenge to design and put together."

"And we haven't even got to the best part." Henry pointed out out of the blue, sliding your portion across the table. Silently getting permission to speak freely from Sasaki and Wilde he continued. "Sir, it is without a doubt that you are the most important person here. And yes, that is true." He rolls right over your attempt to deny that that was the case. "You are the commander as well as having picked out everyone here." Technically Sasaki was an exterior appointee but... "As such the Engineering section decided to recognize that with equipment suited to your station. Which will unfortunately have to wait until you finish your bowl." He gives a meaningful look at said food and you give a level look at him for in return.

=====

"As you are the commander, and the base was attacked once already, it was decided that additional insurance was needed in case of a more direct attempt on your life was made." You nod as you follow the more solid engineer out onto the street. Taking another chunk of cake from your bowl you look around for what this surprise may be. "So we made you a personalized Steed and Shade."

The Configurable SUV sweeps around the corner and slides to a halt with a flourish. To your surprise Tellison is the one that lowers the window and snaps a sharp salute.
"Sorry for the delay, sir! You know how the traffic here is."

Glancing over the empty street you turn back to the pilot and smile. "I think I can find it in myself to forgive you this once."

Options gained:

Officer's Shade
Zirvitium plating ("Gotta keep you alive!"), K-Circuits ("And swinging!"), multi-purpose communication array and integrated processor ("And be able to alert our people if you get attacked.") Snub-nosed Kausen Heavy Blaster ("Until they get there, you'll need something to put the hurt on whoever earned your ire."), Conventional Weapons ("...Okay yeah, we ran out of space there. But it's the TMUs omni-point, so you can salvage weapons as you go if what you took wasn't to your liking.")

General's Steed
Armor, integrated minigun and grenade MG, actually an ATV and not a motorcycle because additional bulk. As above, only the absolute best technology available sent into this project.

Zaealix: High Scores
"520"
"530"
"475"
Lucy wrote down the various scores. She had to admit, the new training devices were much easier to get working then the old, now relatively unused Servo-Arms of the past, being a simple motor that would spin a wheel to hit a lever that would advance the score counter.
"500"
"515"
"490"
Most people seemed to score within a range of 450-550 revolutions on their first try. While a few of the younger canidates might give it more tries, to see how high they could push their scores before someone inevitably caught them-like that boy over there Paul just took the MMI from.
"451"
"500"
"520"
*Ding!*
"Testing is now over, all Canidates, please report to medical for evaluation."
As the Canidates left, Lucy simply remained professional and calm, and simply waited for them to leave...And then she turned to the nearest machine.
The decision to move to the new Spin-counters wasn't just made for the purpose of an easier to control testing device. It was to gain data on various levels of ESP familiarity and development. And well, between trying to resist blurting out MAXMIUM BRANDY, gratuitously failing to resist rocking out in the K-Scale labs, or simply getting used to the Kausen...She had to admit, she hadn't fit in much ESP practice...
On the flipside, those machines would record every single test performed...
But it wasn't like there was one dedicated for staff use...
...Let's face it, she was going to do it one of these days, why not today?
She walked over, sat down, put the MMI on her head-so much more comfortable then the heavy things from last year, and started the machine.

[X] Plan: Advance the Earthly Flag!

I thought people were saying that the Reaction Force action was an essential now that we're a public Super Robot force, so I don't know why Plan Safety First doesn't have it.

DaLintyGuy: I Smell a Ratte
"Adam Wilde here, stealing intros like we appropriate technologies!

So, as we all know the Institute has been doing a lot of work on Configuring Mecha. And I should know, as me and my partner were the ones to make it possible! But sometimes you just have to take a step back and do something for fun.
...And because Sasaki says we need superweapons for the Super Robot to supplant. In the break room of course, but it sounded fun.

And after a night of Drunk Science- yeah yeah, I know you lot- and a week of off and on tinkering, we've got something that almost fits that description.

If this thing was ever built, it'd be fully deserving of the title "landcruiser". Built around a yet-to-be-designed super sized version of the Kausen energy weapons in lieu of something different... Okay, I'm not going to lie, if the power densities stay the same as the Heavy Blaster we could probably knock down Kausen starships in low orbit with this monster.

Of course, as you are no doubt an intelligent individual as you are part of the Institute, you may remember that the landcruiser concept was shelved all the way back in the dark history of man because, quite frankly, not even my skills could get the thing to move. Fortunately, our friends from space have an elegant solution:
Tell gravity to sit in the corner and think about what she's done.

With the "antigravity" treatment the issue of weight is reduced to a manageable level, leading me to my doodling in the first place. Not a very inspired design, being basically a horseshoe crab with a cannon down the top anchored to the back for a high traverse, but things don't have to be dancers to do a lot of damage!

Even if the Beowolf is a work of art that looks good and take names.

This has been Wilde, and have a great evening!"

Unit Idea

Landcruiser
Role: Superheavy Assault Gun
Inspiration: the Heimdall from Tacit Ronin, mostly
Description: basically a small mobile hill, configuration derived systems articulate an armored skirt to protect the extensive set of tracks on the unit's underside. The only break in the smooth exterior is the giant cannon the system carries, as well as a handful of heavy autocannon turrets for close defense. Inside, it is basically made of power systems and capacitors installed in an antigravity treated frame.
Expected Use: mobile turret. Would need a specialized carrier platform to deploy rapidly, but with the right prereqs it could pose a threat to enemy assets too heavy and/or high for Super Robot engagement. Less powerful and therefore more rapid shots would similarly make for a major hazard to enemy units in the AO.

am just as capable of providing similar enhancement to machines of war."

The average magical girl skirt is capable of stopping/deflecting missiles!

"No." It pauses before continuing. "As strange as this may sound to you, the enhancements I provide must be screened for. I can provide local means of recreating them, but those who operate these machines must be of a just heart, and a righteous disposition. It will not function for those of wicked intent."

You are silent for a good thirty seconds.

Poor Devin never watched good MG shows.

[] Improvise with Callaghan and the Beowulf.

This must be done, sounds hilarious. Although I expected that the drone wouldn't survive the interrogation, X-COM style.

Variable Configuration

That reminds me: What happened with investigating the strange liquid of the original Pilum? And the claws? What about tinkering with the Kausen Drone remains?

Wilde is up front with you. The Beowulf, the Falcon, and the Shepherd should be able to all combine into one 'mega mecha' if we take it to a logical conclusion.

Yep, that's how a Super Robot should be, not the Early Access version we have and trying to charge customers 40 $ to get it.

[] San-Ki Gattai
Cost: 4 RP (2 RP Locked Next Turn)
Beowulf will be able to call on a theoretical final formation, to be summoned in times of dire emergencies.

You mean "final fusion". Also, can you provide a translation for those not versed in Wapanese? Something like "Just as keikaku*"

*Keikaku means plan.

[] ESP Theory - Heavy Investment

Can we choose this one again despite being researched already? What would happen if we do that? The enw system is kinda vague, I would like to see write-in options to see if we can research specific stuff like offensive psychic powers.

Options gained:

Officer's Shade

You forgot an armored undershirt made of K-Scales, but nothing that another omake can fix!

We ought to test Devin too, just to see what happens.

The gratuitous Japanese is in there because Sasaki typically edits it in while no one's looking.

(I've also never seen Death Note, and don't expect to; not my thing)

That reminds me: What happened with investigating the strange liquid of the original Pilum? And the claws? What about tinkering with the Kausen Drone remains?

The Drone remains will come next turn; I meant to put that into Xenotech but just flatout missed it. As for the liquid, your Engineers have already determined that it fulfills a similar function to K-Class style lubricant, but it's not anything that comes close to K-Class; just has an interesting reaction to electrical charges, such as having claws snap at you from the dead.

As for the claws...yeah, I did forget about 'em, didn't I? I can fix that later.

We're almost at the Pilot Episode for our series, huh.
Such a long way...

I meant that you could provide a Google Translation if you feel lazy. Hell, I might do it if I can spare a moment or two.

I thought we could investigate that thing more thoroughly to see if it was also Kaiju stuff. Also, speaking of forgetting: What's the Seeker option for? Didn't the TMU already have a theoretical "mecha mode"? The triple mode mentioned a few updates ago.

The triple mode mentioned a few updates ago.

I already mentioned it in the update but MAJ Devin isn't comfortable pushing that as a product for use. This would be to refine it to something more workable.
