Honestly I personally want Emma to lay a clutch or two with her three years and dissappear to her next great adventure.

In his very first issue he learns that he can "hurdle a twenty storey building, leap an eighth of a mile, run faster than a streamline train, raise tremendous weights, and nothing less than a bursting shell can penetrate his skin!" And contrary to popular belief, he first gained the power of flight in the first episode of the 1940 radio show. And yes, I have a source for that statement: I've heard the episode.

Tamara looked up at Tiamat, "Tiamat, you owe me a debt."
Tiamat scowled, "I do." she said shortly. She never liked being reminded of her debts.
Tamara nodded, "Very well I will forgive you this debt - IF - you agree to accept the Spirit of this girl and Birth Her as a Dragon"
Tiamat roared.

Man, that's harsh. I thought Emma was down to only a few decades. Only 3 years? That's really saddening.
I really hope something can be done to help her. I believe what she's gone through is payment enough for what she did.

When Tiamat went to Bahamut for judgement and death, he chose Naichi as the least-involved, most objective dragon to deliver the sentence, and basically Naichi pronounced "The verdict is guilty, and the sentence is life.". For the truly penitent, no punishment could ever match that of their own conscience tormenting them with their sins. The sheer scale of what Tiamat was guilty of could never be matched by any other punishment she could've been given. Almost anything else would've been a relief for her. I strongly suspect that Taylor, if/when she's informed of this, will look for a means to save Emma's life. For the Barnes' sake, for the memory of the best friend she used to be, because it was the right thing to do, and out of sheer, unadulterated spite. "Oh HELL NO! You aren't getting out of this THAT easy!". And really, if the people hurt most by Tiamat, her own kin, can decide that she deserves life and redemption, it's hard to argue that the vastly lesser crimes of Emma Barnes disqualify her from the same.

Also, consider what Emma's already been through. Her transformation would have incurred more pain, over a longer time, than a medieval torturer could have inflicted. Her mind was raped and broken. I believe even after Tamara's healing, she's not going to ever forget that.

I think that's more than enough punishment.

Is this going to end with Chekhov's Gun Elixir of Youth? Part of the problem is that Emma's body has way too much age for her soul, right?

And I bet Taylor would start trying to fix things regardless, she might not like or trust Emma but I don't think this Taylor would let her die. Though might also be a vindictive "now live with your self"-choice.

That would be in character for Taylor. And regardless of what Emma and Sophia did, what Falazure did to them is not something she would be happy with. I can be a vicious bastard, and have no sympathy for either Emma or Sophia, but what was done to them was excessive and cruel and something they didn't deserve. Especially as they were already being punished.

Taylor would do what she can to ensure that Emma and Sophia don't die or suffer from what was done to them. But doing more than that? Yeah no, she is very unlikely to do more. Keep in mind, she was chosen by both Bahamut and Tiamat. And the former, while good, is not soft or nice when angered.

Keep in mind that we have a good example of how a metallic dragon takes revenge, versus how a chromatic one does. The former is, in many ways, worse than what the latter would do. Though they are not above highly destructive rampages themselves, they vastly prefer to utterly break the target of their vengeance while letting them live, and telling them that they, themselves, are responsible for what happened to them.

The saying that revenge is a dish best served cold very much applies when it comes to metallic dragons.

So yeah, this Taylor would rather they live. She is good. But good does not mean soft or even nice.

"May you get what you deserve" is a curse.

That it is. And as I said, for all that I have no sympathy for either of those two, but what was done to them was beyond what they deserved.

Am I the only one here who thinks she doesn't deserve to be saved?
I usually feel Emma is not worth saving by the time the Locker Incident happens. She takes way too much pleasure in tormenting her sister, Taylor, to deserve anything better than locking her away.

Here though, we have a genuine and spontaneous realization at just what she was doing and enjoying, and she doesn't like it. If she can express a true desire to fix the harm she caused, even while she knows she won't live long enough to really accomplish this, then she'll truly deserve the help she is about to receive.

Just so everyone knows, the reason that this is such a spontaneous realization on Liamaril's (aka Emma's) part?

Tamara is a Goddess of Healing. To her, Insanity and a half-assed transformation are cake work to set right. Emma has been put back into her right mind, the Emma of the day of the Alley, and has looked at the memories of what she'd done since then, and is appalled at what she's done.

"Perhaps it's better that Emma stays dead, and I live out my days as Liamaril." She's already given herself Naichi's sentence to Tiamat.

The transformation used her life force to fuel the transformation. If she was transformed back into her human form, she'd look like your 97 YO grandmother, frail and fragile and barely clinging to life, and would probably die within days. Liamaril was already experiencing the arthritis and joint pain that Great Wyrms experience in the years before they die of natural causes. And when you weigh 80+ tons... moving can hurt a lot, and the pain put you in a foul mood.

School is in session, and Tiamat is teaching... You'd best behave Or Else.
Fluff starts to raise a spitball shooter only to blink and rapidly sit straight up in his seat and play attention after the emptied ballpoint pen tube falls to his desk in multiple half melted pieces.

"Detention for the rest of the semester."
"Yes ma'am!"

Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday / enjoyed us crazy Yanks blowing ourselves up.
Every year without fail. Folks, I don't know why you insist on celebrating my birthday, but can you do so a little more quietly? I was trying to watch videos when the fireworks went off.

And now all the eyes are on Liamaril to see whether she can do better or not. No stress, Liamaril, no stress.

Considering the level of natural aging that has been done to Emma/Liamaril though unnatural means, that Elixir of Youth just isn't going to cut it.

Emma's going to need proper Divine Intervention to get anywhere close to physically restored. Something that Bahamut, Tiamat, Hlal and/or Tamara can't provide at the moment.

Everyone now hopes that Io returns from whatever sabbatical He's been on soonest.
