Orc Quest; or, A Critical Examination of Agency Through in Interactive Fiction (Warcraft)

The only other closest place to explore actual shamanism requires travelling much longer to where the Frostwolves refused to go with Thrall and stayed behind in Alterac Valley.
I'm sure we can probably find somewhere closer at hand, but I do agree none of them are liable to be easily accessible.

All seems fine, no comments from me

Under the general statement of 'all that is, is alive', everywhere has elementals. However, civilisation will naturally dampen elementals and extensive arcane stuff will as well. Lordaeron doesn't really have wandering elementals, possibly because of Dalaran and Quel'thalas which both presumably mess about with ley lines which somehow reduce or ensnare elementals.

On Wildhammer, they'll be some about sure, they're involved in the war effort in any case.

[X] Plan, Alrighty know thyself.

I wanted to interact with the Paladin and I don't have the energy to think up and write a plan myself so this'll do for me.

I like your kind of quest, I get go on big tangents to talk about warcraft lore and the exploration of the self.

It's sort of like if this was Bioware's attempt for warcraft the orc adventure RPG in their glory days.

Plan, Alrighty know thyself.
-Survey
-Help the Village
-Patrol
-Recovery
-Socialise "Mirador" get to know him and ask for any advice he may have, either for an orc socialising with humans without violence, or as a warrior against the undead.
-The Fire Blade
-Meditate

@Doomed Wombat is the above correct after any edits from you?

Focusing 3 actions on the warband, trying to make it work together as a cohesive unit, want to focus on more ambushy tactics since again fighting the undead in a straight battle will eventually lead to tragedy, but might be convinced to change it. Doing a patrol to try and make it work together as a whole and a survey so we know our forces properly.

On the personal end doing a recovery action to speed that up, I want to investigate the mystery of the fire blade which will hopefully synch up with on with the meditation as will talking with "totally not Tirion guys."

I would want to ask him about paladins and the light etc. but I think it'd be a better idea to get to know him first, before we jump into that ya know. As well as unloading all of Grok's baggage, though I imagine he'll be able to see that rapidly.

Patrolling with new warband, general roll, then encounter roll, 1d3. 81, goes well, defeat two moderately sized bands of undead.

Insight with Mirador, him, light stuff, undead stuff, his roll

It is, not sure where the training rolls are coming from since that was edited from the plan to put in helping the village instead. I guess because it works synchronicity wise?

In essence,
Training warband
Integration timeline 1d10
Ambush training
I don't think this part is, otherwise yeah.

Do you want us to do the rolls or are you doing that?

No that's fine, it was because the initial reasoning was referring to it but the actual plan wasn't so wasn't sure. I'll take that bit out though if the plan points are correct and have been swapped.
Note to self make sure to edit the reasoning when editing the plan itself.

But yeah,

The only thing I can think of is village stuff unless that falls under not rolled for things.

No it's fine, if it's unclear I'll clarify. I was pretty sure you'd edited the plan already and I'd read the discussion with Netos etc so its fine.

Not rolled for, sufficiently easy to help out that it doesn't need to be.

Ah KK.

I will do it in the future anyway though just in case.

100 big burly buff people labouring for their pleasure :p

That said it would be quite a sight for the Scarlets to come out to investigate an Orcish presence and find them carrying around lumber for the villagers and maybe partaking in some drinking contests.

Pffffft.

Had a few heart attacks until I remembered oh right not all of those are d100s, except for the survey.

Where...well c'est triste, but we'll make do.

Mirador tho...if I'm reading that right we didn't get a lot of stuff on the undead, did reasonably well on understanding him, but got super good rolls for the light and whatever it is he's doing (insight roll on us? #Tirionfortherapist #Niceoldmaninlifeforchange :p )

And the patrol went well, two more packs of undead down, that should hopefully make the area safer, help to solidify the unit together and continue making a good impression.

I hope they're singing shanty songs.
Or something like that.

If nothing else the humans living here are either hard as nails, extremely lucky or both, what with managing to survive the rampages of the scourge and the burning legion for years now.

Hopefully that's at least a good baseline for our two groups to start getting along.

If someone's a drummer than they can take turns drumming to encourage the labour being done who will keep singing along.

I don't know if the warband has a musician to liven the mood as they match singing to their destination.
Probably not, but I imagine the singing of 100 out of tune orcs is more than enough to kill most beings stone dead.

At least one of the undead bands we encountered probably just bludgeoned their own skulls open rather than listening to the sound of so many cats being strangled :p

Also great for motivation, the sooner they arrive the faster they'll all stop singing as nobody wants to be the first to stop :D

It really would make it much simpler if one of them invented the bagpipe.

I remember in World War Z where the various different countries used their national music to attract zombies to kill and you had zulus doing some dancing or highlanders with their pipes. I imagine it might be something like that.
