Wasn't there that trick Eric had to increase the reach of a spear, or possibly sword, that we can try learning?

I don't think so? I don't recall it when we sparred with him anyway...he just had more reach than us to start with since we were still using Thievesbane then.

I'm kinda disappointed we didn't have a kitchen sink to go with the boulder...
Do kitchen sinks even exist yet?

Sinks probably do...Constantinople would have them, at least for the rich. I dunno if they'd be in the kitchen and there sure aren't any around here, though. Halla has probably never even seen one.

Nice! A Reward Dice to you!

Yeah, man, poor Stigmar.

He has a pretty good gig aside from the fighting things above his weight class, and the Orthstirr has gotta be pretty nice. But yeah...he's a bit outmatched.

And, as stated, putting the die towards keeping the poor dude alive (well, alive-ish anyway).

T'was in his character sheet for the Outlaw fight.

Ah! So it was. And yeah, we could try and learn that, though we have a lot of Tricks we want to learn. Like...so many Tricks. It might be a minute.

Now that we've saved Hasvir's family, or what's left of it, anyway, from his father's attempt at gigakinslaying..

Did we unlock Hasvir Hasvirsonarsonr as a relationship?

I suspect that, and those with his siblings and likely Wolfwind, as well as the other people we fought with, will be added to our sheet after the next post, which includes the aftermath of all this.

Man though, the young folks of our impromptu Felag probably ate real good on Orthstirr, joining in on this adventure. We're now up to 14 and a bit of Odr per turn!

Halla might have gotten nearly a hundred from the fights alone (Would have been over a hundred, but we let Sagaseeker have a share too), but she wasn't the only one who kicked arse there. There's still the acknowledgement of the accomplishment of a Heroic Quest to come too, which'll probably put her over the top.

And she held her own at every stage of the fight too, killing more than her fair share in the group fight, bagging two Threaded Men in two different encounters, and significantly contributing vs the Threaded Elephant. (@Imperial Fister , on that note, how did Halla score on the DPS meters in that fight?)

@Shard could you maybe define your Reward Dice allocation? I'd personally much rather get Stigmar down from 3% chance of death to 0% than add 5% chance to Haleikr surviving, but your current dice are acting as Schroedinger's dice and preventing that from happening unless we invest way more dice than seem likely (since every time we invest in Stigmar, it just moves dice to Haleikr).

So, that's 1 for me, 1 from Deadman, and you had 7. 33% chance of death...

23 at present, so 5 of your dice go to making sure Stigmar lives, and then 2 on Haleikr. He needs 5 more to completely remove the risk of death from the table, and we should probably aim for it, Reward Dice are best used at nudging Fate this way after all.

I thought I had 2 for a bit, but I guess I only had one. Still, Stigandr is safe! Haleikr needs 5 more to be Completely Safe, but his risk's dropped from 1/3rd of a chance to 1/4th, which helps!

So! Mechanics aside, I just wanted to take a moment and say that the final round was great, and I'm particularly pleased our 'boulder missile' plan finally got put into action and worked so effectively. We definitely need to do that more in the future.

Honestly, I suspect it worked that well only because the target was so big and slow, that kind of thing is overkill outside of super large targets I think.

When it works though, it works real nice. But it's not something we should expect to work against a human sized target.

I think we can absolutely make it work against a human sized target with setup. IAT would be great for that, for example. It'd also be great in a field battle vs. an army.

I'm not suggesting we invest too much into it in terms of time and effort, but I am planning on runing up a few boulders and filling our fylgja's spare capacity when we don't have anything else super relevant to put there.

[X] Muna: Steinarr's Sword (Unlock Sword Hugareida)

By the way, what do we know about that whole "suddenly, someone is yeeting a ship at something" thing that's been happening? Is that Torsten? The fuck's going on there?

[X] Muna: Steinarr's Sword (Unlock Sword Hugareida)

Over whale-road past Gotling's home
To sup with Rurikids and sail past Pechengs
Riding rowing benches, while shoulder-bearing his home past dancing waters
so did Crowfeeder's bearer come to the lands of the Greeks

Warring across the backs of cetus' friends
bringing forth lindworms to the city of hot waters where Sassinids stay
Passing between Scylla and Charbodis without fear
Thus was this man from Thule.

After the great polutasvarf given as due
Returned in glory under clear roof of the world, was the great flame lay slain
Ash and oak and thorn bore witness to blood-oath then
For great was the wroth born there

Now Skyfire, daughter of this great man
Leaves her runes in this stone, gifted from mountain-friends
Proclaiming the death of the outlaw Horra, kinslayer and draugr-maker
Completing her quest and feud

Worth scouting out suitable boulders. They need to be a suitable material (granite or marble is best), a good size for throwing, and as round as we can manage (for range).

Well, it worked once.

And this whole area is probably (as in real life) former glacier country or something; big rocks shouldn't be hard to find.

Every Norse Farmer Ever: "On the contrary, they are too fucking easy to find with the fucking plow and it's a pain in the ass!"

Look, I don't want to trigger a giant ass boulder arms race. A trump card vs Monsters or Foemen? Great. Something we make part of our key strategy? No.
