Jesus. That's not just necromancy, that's a fucking army. And of our dead family too apparently. Is all this just to take out Steinarr? Or go back to his homeland and conquer it?

We definitely want stuff we can take with us. A draugr skull isn't nothing, but, well, I'd like more.

Also, "Horra has a massive number of draugr" seems like it might be pertinent info for future decisionmaking.

We actually already suspected that (if perhaps not in quite these numbers). But yes, it's worth keeping in mind. Specifically, we need to get the authorities to take them out for us, which should be an easy enough sell, really.

So one thing I notice... Orthstirr is finite. The more viking cultivators there are, the less of it there is to go around.

...and we know that the Orthstirr boon came from a sacrifice of some sort by a powerful cultivator. I'm guessing... basically, that sacrifice created a certain amount of orthstirr, that just keeps moving around in accordance with what the guy who created it considered good behavior.

By extension, if we just induct a bunch of people into Viking Cultivation, the orthstirr will get thinner and thinner, but it should be possible to crank up the total through further major sacrifices by high-end cultivators. Would likely be possible for someone who did that to adjust what was being rewarded as well (at least by having their patch of generated orthstirr reward somewhat different things).

We don't actually know this part. We theorize it, but we don't know it for sure.

If the theory that a big sacrifice made the existing Orthstirr is correct this is probably doable in theory, though it'd be real tricky and they'd need to be an Odr cultivator to have energy to actually put into the system.

We'll need to be careful how much time we take and what we search. There wouldn't be much point in the vote if we could safely explore the whole place without any risk of traps or someone showing up if we take too long.

We need to see the workshop at minimum. How much time has passed since we entered? Surely a couple of minutes at most?

Man, what were the vikings stuck with before Orthsirr was invented?

Or I guess there probably weren't any Vikings.

It's countered when we're using Target-Tracking Eyes or Sharpened Senses. So probably most of the time, but like all shapeshifting those are both technically temporary, not permanent, and we could still pass it on to our kids so it stays on the sheet.
Are they though? Halla did alter her own form when we got it, would be pointless to accentuate her hips if it were not permanent, no?

I'm... pretty sure that we were told it was? It was listed as one of the cheats that got added on to viking cultivation to adjust for the fact that it was being utterly screwed over by The Enemy. I'm pretty sure it was Blackhand who said it.

They'd need to be an Odr cultivator of a rank significantly higher than the one we've reached, yes. They might also have to die in the process. It would absolutely be severely nontrivial. I'm just saying it's doable. There is a path that leads to the "literally everyone in the world can cultivate" ending.

They are in fact explicitly temporary but last as long as we maintain them. So...Halla can keep something superficial like wider hips effectively forever, and could keep one 'slot' tied up in Target-Tracking Eyes or Sharpened Eyes forever and never actually be nearsighted again, but if we ever reassign the slot so does our distance vision and we can still pass it on to our kids as we're changing ourselves physically not 'genetically'.

Only shapecrafters can make actual permanent changes, from what we understand. Having a shapecrafter give us permanent Target-Tracking Eyes is actually a pretty plausible thing for us to do at some point, but there are none locally, so that's some time in the future, and we'd still be able to pass it on to their kids even then, which means it would stay on the sheet.

When? I have no memory of this. The listed victories were Aspects coming back, shapecrafting, and fylgja unveiling. And how they were achieved was not clarified.

I doubt we can convert the whole world, but it becoming more widespread without diluting is very possible, yes.

You know I have to wonder if Sten is also dealing with a Finnish equivalent of The Enemy.

'minor things' like hips and general cosmetic stuff is easy to just sort of have in the back of your mind

Not quite correct.

The annoying thing about this quest is:
  • There is a huge flood of comments, especially since turn 6 started.
  • WOG is scattered throughout that without threadmarks.
  • The site's "search" function is pretty terrible.

More importantly, will the Jarls send their men to assist against the undead army? Kinda a bad look for them to "allow" Horta to be outlawed but not actually do anything to enforce it.
