If we want to fill in Solrun about Dorri's involvement with Drysalt and get her help in magical surveillance, would that take a social action, or can we do it in our free questions with her. How useful is her help recruiting spirits to spy on him/try and work out patterns of movement likely to be?
The Romans used the pro-gamer strategy of "Have so many dead gods of the cultures you destroyed vow blood vengeance on you simultaneously that they end up cancelling each other out.".
How did Johannes' Frisian cultivation 'feel' like?
Did Johannes have multiple cultivation 'types' or just one?
Do people know that Sagaseeker and Shadeclaw are Realized, or do they assume they're 'just' really well made?
Has Asva remarked on the fact that the gift you gave her is, well, sapient?
Bjorney, does the rest of your family know that he's sapient and can eyetalk?

Hey Blackhand,
Do you know if there are any unique effects of getting your mastery of a Hugareida 'high' enough? (Read: Rank 9)
What about skills, or Martial Styles?
Does anything happen to Frenzy after enough Hugr Infusions?

Wet, yet dry. Locked in a constant battle against the oceans, the Frisians slowly claim land from the depths.

Basically nonexistent. She would never be in on killing Steinarr, they weren't the closest, but she's not gonna screw Halla over like that. Also, Drysalt was working with Horra...this is just not a thing that's occurring.
And we have no idea why Hasvir killed her dad, but if he was behind Drysalt I'd expect the Valley to give her a much chillier reception (ie: I think they'd have killed her by now). So probably not.
Hey Blackhand do you recall any details about how Drysalt killed most of the valley? Did he have a weapon? Did he use his bare hands? Did he use some kind of spell?

Huh. Maybe this is how they manage the long lifespans despite all being cultivators? They thematically have to fight for them...their lifespan starts off mortal-level or even lower but it extends as they improve their cultivation, like claiming land from the depths. If so, it's probably really dangerous to walk the path of cultivation...not as dangerous as the Norse path is to the ignorant, but more so than, like, Thanes or Carolingians.

Johannes hums as his palm warms his multilayered chin and his eyelids blanket his gaze. His free fingers tap a steady beat against the iron-cored wood of his fortune-favored chair, his thoughts ringing free of his mind with every touch of nail to chair. Taking the opportunity for what it is, you deftly feed your drinking horn's contents to the nearest potted plant, which greedily drinks down the ichor with gusto.
Eventually, his fat-laden jowls quake with his nod and his eyes greet the flickering hearth once more. Fingers finding empty parchment and charcoal pen, he means to scrawl out the makings of a list. Deft hands move with unlikely speed as the length of wood leaves its mark on the paper. The merchant's voice harmonizes to the scratching of the pen as he reads off the writing, "For the question of seeds and plants, one of my associates has recently taken in a shipment of a peculiar substance known as 'Hashish'. Having extracted some seeds, he's had little luck in their cultivation. Should you be interested in such a challenge, I will have him send you a parcel of seeds."
Your eyelids narrow into a squint as you eye the merchant, "What does this 'Hashish' do?"
"Calms the mind and quiets ones' rioting thoughts, or so I'm told," Johannes' writing pauses just long enough for him to shrug, "I haven't the pleasure of consuming any of it. Due to its rarity," the merchant shifts the rudder of conversation back to business with a single skillful motion, "my associate will require at least twenty ounces of silver for a field's worth of seeds, while I will require five for the price of information as well as shipping it your way."
Twenty-five ounces of silver for a plant that quiets your mind? That could be quite a boon for anything requiring intensive focus, let alone if you simply need a break from the constant assault of curiosity upon your mental fortitude.
'I believe I may have encountered this substance during one of my travels,' Blackhand recalls with a chin-tapping finger as you turn your mind to other matters, 'I found it quite useful for easing some of the aches and pains my crumbling bones gave me later in life.'
Keeping that in the back of your mind, you turn a question to the merchant, "Have you any other plants or seeds that may be of interest?" (Hamingja: 9 Successes)
Johannes' lips press together into a rumbling hum as he thinks for but a moment. The pencil's blunt end taps thrice against his weighty chin before it once more returns to the paper. "I recently came into possession of a large shipment of unprocessed woad. I was meaning to donate it to the Jarl, but I would be more than willing to sell a crate or two to you," his smile shines with a wealth-seeker's greed, "for a price, of course."
"As for other oddities," the chair holding Johannes' weight doesn't so much as squeak as he leans back, his writing hand still pressed to the paper, "I have reason to believe that I will acquire a large assortment of strange sundry seeds. Should it proceed as expected, I will certainly send a ship to Asvir with seed in store. Unfortunately," his head droops with a sigh, "I cannot tell you of what contents that ship shall have, for I know not myself."
Twisting your lips into a frown, you bite back a swear as your curiosity bemoans the mystery. Adding a second sigh to the air, you shake your mind free of the thought-choked mire and direct the conversation down a new route, "Do you happen to have any magical items of a less violent purpose?" (Hamingja: 20+2(Reward Dice)) 22 Successes
Johannes' jowls quiver and quake with his chuckle. "My friend, it seems that you're in luck," a fond smile spreads across his red-dusted cheeks as he reaches for a fresh slip of paper, "for I am something of a collector of magical odds and ends. It is not often your people search for magic of a less-than-violent sort, so I have quite the collection of items that should be of interest to you."
Learning that Johannes is a collector of magical items sets the wheels of your mind into motion. Brows rising alongside the idea churning into existence, a smile spreads across your face as you give voice to the thought, "Would a collector such as yourself have any magical whetstones?" (Hamingja: 14) 14 Successes
A flicker of humor crosses Johannes' eyes as his writing stops. Leaning in, he rests his chin upon his folded fingers as the spark ignites in his gaze, "You know, I just sold the last whetstone in my collection the other day." His eyelids droop as he chuckles, "Being from the Jarldom of Jurgdby, could it be that you have some of their whetstones in your possession?"
"I have a few," you admit with a glimmering smile as your own fingers fold beneath your chin. "Would you be willing to exchange some of your items for my whetstones?"
"My dear Sunshine," Johannes' slash of a smile matches your own crescent-moon, "you must have studied Frisian since last we met, for now you're speaking my language!"

AN: I'm experimenting a little bit with my prose, so please tell me what you think!
@Imperial Fister what does Halla know about the properties of woad? I think we all know hashish, but I'm unclear there.
Hmmm. What do we want for magic items, folks? That's the sticking point, I think. We probably want a field of hashish (more than one seems unnecessary, IMO...maybe two so as to have one in our soul and one outside), maybe some woad (based on the answer above), and a bunch of random seeds sound fine (the only question is how many).
The real thing we need to consider is what items we want. I think we probably want to keep at least 2 Whetstones, but that leaves trading up to three. I dunno what items we want, really, but there's probably something cool...

That's a great idea. Maybe something to allow evading anti-scrying stuff? That'd be real handy if asking Solrun for help. A stealth item might also be good. Maybe a recording item of some sort?
