Given the rewards from the riddling itself, assuming that each of the twists are only what theyve been described as is a bit of a misnomer

And any story that successfully echoes one of Thors own feats is guaranteed to be outrageously potent, to be scaled to effectiveness against a Jotunn, which as Halla has already seen?

Is a stupidly big ass deal
It's a mortal-made Twist, not a divinely made one. Thar be a significant difference there.

e: Which is to say I'm pretty sure all the Twists have the 'same' level of power.

[X] Plan Let's Buy Everything!

[X] The Red Twist
[X] Continue speaking with Lidrun of the Red-Scarf
-[X] "My kids aren't old enough yet, but I'm considering apprenticeships for some of them with a Skald, can you tell me something about your craft and do you know any Skalds that would be interested when my kids are old enough?"
-[X] "I found an echo of a fight my grandfather, Hallr Blackhand, had with a local hero. I didn't have the time to investigate it yet, but plan to do so soon, would you as a Skald be interested in coming along?"
-[X] "Do Skalds pick up intersting rumours, for example about Vestfold, or is that overshadowed by the heroic stories?"

All this new items and materials will add many many new projecta to our backlog, but its totaly worth it.

The Lighting Rod in particular will be useful for both us and our descendants, and possibly our allies who want to learn Lighting Hugareida.

Another idea, but if we organize that tournament we talked abaout, will we invite Lidrun and try to recruit her?

We could also try to recruit her normaly but i think impressing her with the tournament first would work better.

Having a Skald in our retinue would be useful both to teach our children and to spread our tales so we earn more Orthstirr.

Edit: changed idea on something, now i want to talk more with Lidrun.

Folks, remember that the Hading event is that Blackhand straight up killed a beloved hero of the Valley, I don't think we want a Skald bringing that particular event up a bunch if we can possibly avoid it. I'd swap my vote to talking with her if someone removed that part, but can we not actively torpedo our own reputation here?

No, it won't actually sink us, but it's not gonna be good either.

As cool as that would be I don't think we have anything attractive enough for her to permanently tie herself to us.

That is why i said it would have been better to do it after that tournament we talked abaout, that would show off to her how we can offer much glory and new tales.

And we are also one of the wealthiest and most famous families in the Valley with a lot of deeds and tales to spread, i think that would be pretty appealing for a Skald.

It would be hilarious if the lightning rod is just a nonmagical pointy metal rod because you do not want to wave one of those around in a thunderstorm.

We are one of the wealthiest and most famous families in the valley we are not kings, we are not in charge of a warband, and we are not jarls. Any Skald worth the title can find richer, more famous, and more powerful employers than us.

Are we that wealthy? At least in the valley?

By reasonable standards? Yes. We have probably twice as much land as most people based on historical averages, are the owner of a farm rather than an employee on one, have excellent land, a nice house, and a respectable herd, and have a whole bunch of cash and magic items that'd be worth a crapload if sold.

We're not the richest person, and certainly not the biggest farm, but we're doing real well, monetarily speaking. To put it another way, we have 6 employees...we're richer than they are definitionally, and several of them are doing better than average. We're well off.

This remembers me, have we upgraded our house with stone already or have done that only in our Soulscape?

Also, we talked abaout buying more land in the future. When will be the best moment to do it? Maybe a couple of turns after Yule?

And also, we talked abaout that tournament. Will we do it or is just an idea?

Just the soulscape so far.

If we talk with the Headman we could maybe buy some more right now...I'd be down for that if it's an option. That'd also let us trade in our Dwarf Coins. I think talking with the Headman is probably a good fourth action while we're in town here.

Depends. We're definitely not doing it if we're going traveling, and honestly, another year to get things in order rather than rushing over the next turn or two might be a good call. Basically, I think we should probably do one at some point, but doing it this year is iffy.

That's what I've been saying, yeah. That's actively bad for us.

I get your points, so i change my vote to this:

[X] Go meet with the Headsman for some purpose or another
-[X] Buy more land for your Farm, if its possible buy the land who once belonged to Kerby or Runby. See also if you can pay with Dwarf Coins.

If you and others vote this option, then we can do it right now.

By the way how do i invalidate my previous vote without making too many edits?

We know we can trade in Dwarf Coins even if we can't use them to pay for stuff. But I'll add an approval vote to that for now, sure...maybe ditch the currentvote later.

Only your most recent post with votes in it is counted, so it's already invalidated. Right now, only your 'Go meet with the Headman' vote is being counted. Editing in your other vote preferences to the post I'm quoting would maintain them.

[] The Blue Twist

[] Go listen to what rumours are floating around

You seem to have left out the Xs in your vote, FYI.

So its a yes or a no?

I added my vote to it, but am also voting for listening to rumors, because I think telling the skald about the Blackhand/Hasvir fight is a legitimately awful idea and would pick anything over that. If more people vote for the Headman thing, I'll remove my vote for the rumors.
