[X] Frenzy-Fast - The organ monsters use to store Frenzy (Vagn has a flexible claim on it, as does Skoll)

I'm pretty sure we'll get this nd I'm worried that taking the claws would land us in hot water with Wagon Guy, since Skoll did more than Wagon Guy I think he would otherwise win the frenzy fast.

Skoll, having actually both landed the first blow and set it up for you and Heima to finish off, is entitled to much more then Vagn. He wants the heart and the bones and he's not budging on either. He also wants the frenzy-fast, but he's seemingly more ambivalent on that front.
Wasn't the first blow that affected moonmuncher our glue pot?
With Skoll doing the second hit?

Can we buy his claim?

With all of those factors, could he maybe traded down to taking Frenzy fast and Bones, with Vagn getting Claws?
[X] Heart - Consuming it grants enhancements (Staking a claim here will put you in conflict with Skoll)

Is the Frenzy-Fast as valuable to us as it is to the others, who don't have Odr cultivation?

Hmmm. I don't think any of those are worth getting into conflict with these people. Skoll seems like a dick claiming both the best two options, though, so maybe it's worth it contesting him on principle? I dunno.

I mean, he likely does deserve one of the two (of the Heart and Bones), but both? An equitable distribution seems to me to be us getting either the Heart or Bones, Skoll getting the other and the Frenzy-Fast, since he seems interested, and Vagn getting the Claws. But I dunno if it's worth a fight or going to court over.

@Imperial Fister there's no way suggesting this distribution to Skoll would work, right? Or we wouldn't be stuck with the vote?

The low conflict option is to just grab the Claws or Frenzy-Fast...the Claws would be immediately useful (well, relatively immediate), while the Frenzy-Fast would be useful in experimentation.

Typo for the ages here.

But yeah it seems like the obvious middle-of-the-road solution here is to go for one of the Claws/Frenzy-Fast, and Vagn gets the other one.

Honestly I feel that Skoll is really overstating his own contribution here - he only struck the first blow because he's the fastest, and neither breaking the spell or revealing Moonless Night's weakness were due to him. So personally I'd be tempted to lay a claim for the heart and fight Skoll for it, it would be nice to have an actually challenging fight after the slight anti-climax here. But I think it's unlikely to happen given the risk of a fight.

I mean, it's in the lead right now and I'm probably voting for it as well. In fact, I'll do that now:

[X] Heart - Consuming it grants enhancements (Staking a claim here will put you in conflict with Skoll)

It's the principle of the thing. I'd personally prefer we rest up and replenish our Orthstirr before fighting him, but we should have time for that and I'm willing to do it if he's gonna be a dick.

Skoll getting two of the juiciest parts seems like he's overreaching. I might be biased because I think he's an asshole, but being entitled to the bones and heart dur to scoring the first hit when we revealed that Moonless Night was actually a young master on top of the glue pot and other hits we put in feels really greedy. I don't really want to get into a fight, but at the same time I don't really want him to get away with this.

We should innocuously bring attention to our knee if Skoll says something.

@Imperial Fister, is it possible to consume multiple hearts? If not, I'd rather not get the heart and instead the bones...not the biggest fan of eating it considering our whole thing with fire and the sun.

You sir are a brother and a prince.

Extremely happy to be proved wrong. 😅

It feels like he's really rules-lawyering the "first blow" thing. Like it's pretty easy to strike the first blow when you're an archer and you have an Acceleration Hugareida! He made a decent contribution, he should absolutely get his far share, but if it wasn't for Halla and Heima then this fight could have been a scene from a horror film.

So yeah, I think Skoll is being a prick.

Thirty years in the future, Skoll's grandchildren start to flicker in and out of existence like Marty McFly in Back to the Future.

I feel like one or the other is fine, and I don't think having an Acceleration hugareida would mean that his contribution is null exactly, but being entitled to both - especially with the contributions Halla made? Yeah, no.

Yeah, I'm willing to grant him the most contribution after us (and maybe Heima? Eh, he's happy with his trophy either way so I won't worry about him being ahead of Skoll or behind), but that means he gets one of the two best options plus the Frenzy-Fast, not both of them. Us getting the Pelt and Heart and him getting the Bones and Frenzy-Fast while Vagn gets the Claws and Heima the Head is a pretty fair distribution. I'm willing to go to the wall for fairness. I'd rather go to court than fight, to be honest, because I think a court will agree and a fight can always go sideways, but if we need to fight, we need to fight.

We've been told you can eat as many hearts as you like, IIRC.

Heima Smiles—the only man still in motion—falls from the sky with saxes in hand and the faintest flicker of glee on his face. It's only as he swings that you realize you didn't actually see him leap or fly up at all.

Also, side note, but Heima Smiles can apparently either teleport or become invisible. He is a slasher movie villain and I am terrified.

Oh, okay. Might as well, I guess. I think we have too much hugareida at this point, to be honest, but that's not necessarily a bad thing and having more doesn't hurt. At least we'll probably match with Abjorn.

He gets one or the other but both is too far.

Yeah the dude did 'do damage' but in the grand scheme it really didn't do much. At most it mildly distracted Moonless Night. We ganked his spell and did more damage. Vagn tanked hard. And Heima finished him off.
Dude should get a reward. Should he get all the stuff he's asking for? Hell nah.

I wouldn't assume it'll grant a Hugareida. It might, but I'm pretty sure that's far from the only option. We probably get to vote on what it gives us from a short list like we do for encounter rewards.

Man, I feel bad for the poor pupper now. He had this cool speech st the beginning about how this is the first time he's had a proper feast - a proper fight/meal, it sounds like... and then he just gets absolutely butchered like this. Poor dog.

🤷‍♂️

As an aside, I love that it seems like the patriarch of the Burisons is not even swole enough to appear on the valley power rankings. Steinarr was being extremely generous by actually paying weregild for Lori instead of just killing them all.

I hope we don't get another Hugareida we've too many RN. We also need to get more tricks for the the Weapon and Utility Hugareida.
Perhaps another Style? Or something else.

Agreed. Wolf got shown the Laws of this Jungle and got slaughtered.
I kinda think there's more to this but that can wait.

The last person besides yourself is a real ass by the name of Skoll the Hasty. He has a spear, axe, sax, and also shield. The first thing he did upon meeting you was openly ogle your chest. The next thing he did was open his mouth—likely to make a fatal error—but you put a stop to that by coating Sagaseeker in lightning. The implicit threat was enough to force him away, but something tells you that he'll be trouble later.

Oh yeah, so reading back, this guy is definitely a prick, and this was actually foreshadowed. Honestly, I think there's a fair chance he's being unreasonable here partly as a way of getting back at us for earlier. Plus side, Halla ranked him last in line among the dudes in the our Felag in strength, and the fact that he backed down makes me wonder if he's he's more talk than action. I guess we'll see if we get to find out.

Skoll, as said in the update, is not budging.

You can eat as many as you want and it does not necessarily mean that you'll get a hugareida. In fact, this one won't give you a hugareida.
Grammer police here (sorry) please a an "every" after almost.
Thank you! I actually had it as 'every' before remembering that Heima is Heima and would not care.

I'll call the vote in 30 or so minutes, depending one a couple variables
