So, theoretically, we could use this and our existing cybernetics research to develop cybernetics that plays nice with Force Sensitives?

EDIT: Or nicer, at least?

But of course. That's where the most obvious path of research lies from what Cheriss' notes indicate.

If recent events are any indication Bail Organa is likely about to be targeted by Palpatine-sponsored assassins so that he can remove a political opponent from the board.
Forgot to ask this earlier, but do we have any IC reason to not like Palpatine? We don't know he's Sidious yet, and the missing opponent can easily be seen as coincidence.

So, what you're saying, is that soon, we'll have force cyborgs UNDER OUR COMMAND?!

:V

*Grievous looks around confused, feeling the weirdest sense of deja vu for reasons he can't quite explain*

Forgot to ask this earlier, but do we have any IC reason to not like Palpatine? We don't know he's Sidious yet, and the missing opponent can easily be seen as coincidence.

Because Ciaran is smart enough to know better? More importantly, it's not like Ciaran has anything personal against Palpy, but getting political blackmail is just how she rolls.

As for Bail, he's a friend of Padme's, so he gets special benefits from that.

If anyone's curious, here's the three new traits so far (for Ciaran, Silas, and Cheriss):
Enhanced Combat Vision: While the Luka Sene is mainly focused on studying, they have managed to greatly improve on the Miraluka's Force sight to make it much more effective in combat...and the results from your own training have proved it. +2 Martial, +2 Lore
Genemod (Pau'an): Silas has been modded with genes from the Pau'ans of Utapau, not only extending his lifespan but also giving him better night vision...and making him a bit taller. +2 Intrigue
Experimental Frame: Part research project, part passion project, Cheriss' new body has been designed with increased responsiveness and resilience, as well as integrating experimental technology designed to work alongside Cheriss' Force abilities. +2 Martial, +2 Lore, +2 Learning
...I'm starting to think it'd be a good idea to recruit some Iron Knights and Shard engineers, because Cheriss's upgrade is just too promising.

[X] CNS Recruitment (Dathomir)
Rolled: 98 + 10 = 108 (Over 100 Success)

Not only did Satine end up pulling overtime in this region, but you had an unexpected detour on the way to Vectivus' Home. (To be continued in The Journey Home)
I must admit that, as spectacular as that roll is, there's so much stuff we could reap from Dathomir that it's hard to predict exactly what this natural crit will do for us:
  • Mother Talzin of the Nightsisters has met & studied the Force alongside Darth Sidious some years ago, but when Sidious kidnapped her son (to turn him into Darth Maul), Talzin swore vengeance upon him (and later, upon his apprentice Dooku). This means she'd be a natural ally against Palpatine -- she might even be able to identify him as our elusive Sith Lord, if they worked together long enough for her to see his face.
    • In unrelated news, Mother Talzin also knows that Maul is alive... (though can't pinpoint his location)
  • Mother Rell of the Singing Mountain Clan has met, studied under, & apparently flirted with (!) Yoda some centuries before, when he came to the planet to try to recover the praxeum ship Chu'unthor. She knows the location of that ship and might be willing to help us recover it.
  • Another point of interest in Dathomir is the lost village of Aurilia, an insular mist-shrouded community of Force-sensitive refugees.
  • Finally, Dathomir also contains the ruins of an old Sith Academy, built and used a thousand years ago by the 'Brotherhood of Darkness'
That's in addition to the number of hyperspace lanes and trade worlds that are located in sectors around it....

[X] Hey, Trade Federation! Do what you do best!:
...
[X] War-Ravaged Recovery:

Income penalty fully negated!
Outstanding! Our balance sheet looks better than ever, and with those new bases, we're really well-situated to keep developing our powerbase and reap the rewards.

[X] The Hunt For A Madman:
Rolled: 7, Reroll: 69 + 36 = 105 (Over 100 Success)

At first the duo had little success tracking Wesker down. Then Silas came back from his genemod session feeling better than ever and worked overtime to find this mad scientist. (To be continued in Oroboros)
Geez, that reroll.... <Vader voice> "The ability to create a zombie epidemic is insignificant next to the power of the Force."

[X] The Golden Tempter:
Rolled: 67 + 57 = 124 (Super Critical Success)

Force using crystals that cause massive Force storms if you use any powers around them, a Jedi Hutt...the planet you tracked Ashgad to is weeeeeiiiiiirrrrrdddd. But he was alive, amazingly... (To be continued in The Exiled Tempter)
Like Dathomir, I know this is good, but I have no idea what we will be gaining from it.
  • Seti Ashgad is an anti-Palpatine senator. Rescuing him will obviously boost the anti-Palpatine faction in the Senate.
  • The fact that he was kidnapped and eventually discovered in a Separatist penal colony will raise quite a few eyebrows, I expect.
  • Seti Ashgad is also a former Incom hyperspace engineer. Wookiepedia isn't clear, but I suspect that Ashgad was the senator for Fresia, the world on which Incom has its headquarters. Rescuing him would probably generate a lot of goodwill with the planet & corporation he was elected to represent.
  • Perhaps we could persuade Incom and/or Sienar to relocate or build new factories and facilities on systems in CNS Space, to encourage mutual ties and boost our Neutral economy while the war wages on?
  • Seti Ashgad was on te team that designed the predecessor to the X-Wing. If his experiences have left him tired on politics, he might be amenable to joining our team and designing a more advanced starship. Perhaps we'd partner with Incom or Sienar, or perhaps we could start our own starship company with his help.
And that's not to mention the Force-using crystal-beings that aren't Shards, or the aforementioned Hutt Jedi (albeit a fallen Jedi, at least in canon). Plus there's the fact that Nam Chorios, like its neighbor Lucazec, is basically an isolationist world that reluctantly joined the CIS because it wanted to be left alone. There's quite a bit of CNS recruiting potential there....

[X] Homecoming Trip:
Rolled: 31 + 17 + 10 + 10 = 68 (Success)

You've learned so much from Vectivus...it's about time you went to where it all began for him. (To be continued in The Journey Home)
It's not the critical success I'd hoped for, but I'm really looking forward to this interlude.

[X] Thrawn: Return of the Mand'alor:
Rolled: 76 + 29 + 10 + 10 = 125 (Super Critical Success)

You're not entirely sure what Thrawn said or did but the results... (To be continued in The Resurgent)
This absolutely is the critical success I'd hoped for, and oh my gosh I'm looking forward to this one.

[X] Casino:
The newly-opened "Orb of Phantasticora" turned out to be very popular on Nar Shaddaa, although it probably helped that the Hutts were willing to do some free advertising for you.

As for the name itself, you figured since casinos are more often than not legalized theft that you would name it after something you stole yourself way back when. But then, who would know?

3 Watcher Teams died to bring you this update.
Watchers:
17 Watcher teams + 2-5 per turn (Survival Rate 60%) (Cap 20)
Should we roll now for the "2-5 per turn", or does that wait until after the interludes at the very end of the turn?[/QUOTE]

Hutt Jedi.

.....

I agree with Ciaran.

Beldorion The Hutt went there with his fellow Knight. They both fell to the Dark Side and while his partner went mad and wandered off, Beldorion set himself up as the loyal tyrant. He's actually kind of powerful and unlike most Hutts he's in shape, but he's still the Hutt tyrant of a backwater. Considering we have Tsil (a semi-living crystal that enhances the Force) for Cheriss' experiments I think we worked out a deal.

*takes notes* What? Don't mind me. Enjoy your +10. Hmm, that might be a good idea...

Well you already inserted one part. Go ahead.

It came from when the Jedi Council are discussing what happens if Palpatine doesn't give up his emergency powers after Grievous' death. Mundi says he should 'be removed from office' and Windu adds and I quote:

"The Jedi Council would have to take control of the Senate in order to ensure a peaceful transition."

Essentially the Jedi Council pulling out their lightsabers and staging a military coup was the very first idea that day on how to deal with the Chancellor.. and that was before they found out he was a Sith Lord.

So, what you're saying, is that soon, we'll have force cyborgs UNDER OUR COMMAND?!

:V

Ah Darths and Droids Valorum, you were a villain who was as mad as the PCs.

Jesus fucking Christ Thrawn, cool your fucking tits on that roll and shit man.

You crazy holmes.

EDIT: Oh hey all those Trade Federation actions actually came through big time! Neat/10 always nice to have legacy actions have appropriate responses down the line.

Also Ciaran is now as Martial as the Silencer. And I know technically, as a Forcey, that's not really impressive. But I still feel that the Silencer needs a nice thing to boost his combat effectiveness (also boosting Grievous so wurf)

...Hmmm...I'mma going to have to get back to you on that because between her and Silas the rest of her family life would be...complicated.

On an unrelated note that's totally related, does Buried Presence hide only the user, or can stronger users hide other people as well?

I ask because of... reasons.

Ciaran's Relatives (Canon Info)
Ciarans Relatives

Silas Cata - Grandfather

Nothing needs to be said about this old scoundrel.

Jisela Parsa - Grandmother (deceased)
A Miralukan woman and a rather unusuall Miralukan. Was a instructor of the Luka Sene. Encountered Silas when she was traveling through the Core Regions and they quickly ended up being an odd couple. Died shortly after the birth of her son due to severe illness, leaving Silas very depressed and causing him to quickly leave after arranging for his son to be taken care off by someone else and leaving behind A LOT of credits for him.

Jasper Parsa - Father
Half-Miralukan and son of Silas. Lived quite comfortably due to the credits Silas left behind and became a Luka Sene Scholar. Only rarely encountered Silas and they never got along. Quickly disliked his daughter taking after Silas and being very resistant to any attempt correct that. Oblivious to the fact that the great Lady Ciaran and his daughter are one of the same since she disappeared a long time ago.

Eevy Varn - Mother
Miraluka and wife of Jasper Parsa. Scholar of the Luka Sene. Quite similiar to her husband which includes the heavy dislike of Silas and the fact that Ciaran quickly took after him instead of either of her parents. Also oblivious to the fact that the Lady Ciaran and her daughter are one and the same since she disappeared a long time ago.

No siblings

Various Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, whatever:

Two Examples:

Larana Shayal

Part-Human Twi'lek trader from the Outer Rim. Daughter of one of Silas other children. Relatively successfull trader (in part due to a lot of money her parents got from Silas) and a complete sweetheart. The war ruined her business, she ended up in debt and it ended up being a Hutt who decided to collect the debt. Slavery ensued... and a message is trying to get to Silas who will probably snap.

Galvin Thorn
Part-Human Zeltron. Son of one of Silas other children. Ruthless mercenary and thrillseeker. He too lived a comfortable live thanks to Silas, but the Zeltrons typical love for excitement went to his head... and he loves combat. Also wants to kill Silas just for laughs.

(So... more or less various people of various species in all possible walks of life and in all possible situations.)

I roll at the very end of the turn.

It only conceals the user, though further research could generate a stealth field.

Heh. Heheheh. AHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh my god there's so much I can do with that! I kind of have to give a +10 for that.

Edit: holy shit I just realized that Ciaran was in spitting distance of her folks cause of diplomacy and Cheriss probably met them two turns ago

going to have to retcon the updates with this for maximum hilarity brb

The question is how can we do this without pissing off our newfound goodwill with the Hutts.

What I wonder is how Silas was able to get enough money to support many kids without getting killed by his lifestyle.

Stealing, smuggling, trickery, cheating at gambling, cons, etc. etc. etc.

What do you think why at least a dozen different bounty hunters and various entire pirate crews were after him originaly.
