If this was a show, the beginning of next season (after this fight) would be a three-part episode detailing Ciaran's past, basically a movie focused on her rise.

And do you know what that special would be called?

The Phantom Menace.

YEP, THAT'S RIGHT, in this alternate universe Ciaran is an attempt to retcon/replace the unnamed Phantom Menace/Darth Jar Jar. This is why her first major accomplishment is Naboo.

Of course, after introducing her, they're going more full AU, which is why the show can end in something other than Anakin working for Spicy Sheev.

'Right, that's it! Anakin is going in the lava river and I'll certainly take my time fishing him out, let him see how it feels to almost die because someone else is fucking around.'

The most recent game I've played was Destiny and that was a huge pain. I don't usually play anything that requires X-box live. Every game that has come out recently seems to need an online connection.
I don't see how online connection is relevant.
Do you believe that Runescape marks the cutting edge in graphics? Do you think the internet connection is to allow a cloud hosted GPU?
Otherwise Destiny should serve as a perfectly reasonable benchmark for how graphics improved since KOTOR. You may have to extrapolate a little given Destiny is getting a bit older, but I believe in you.

I looked at the tag that said 2018 rather then the graphics.

I used it as an example that I haven't really gotten a new game recently because of how the current games seem to only have online content only.

Care to suggest some? I'll admit there are outliers however no things on the PS2 didn't look better than current gen stuff, unless you really liked the games particular artstyle.

It's not so much looking better, it's that they felt better to play. I'm not one taken in by graphics, I've learned over the years, through poor decisions, that just because something looks nice, doesn't mean it's gotten better.

I don't want to get into an argument about online DRM. Its kinda irrelevant to what I said about recognising it as an old game.

...
But I wasn't saying that new games are better than old games...
How would you even figure that out looking at a trailer?
It's pretty undeniable that modern AAA games are in an unpractical race to the top as far as graphics are concerned, that makes the visual appearance of games a fairly reliable estimate for their age.

It kinda feels like you and kitsune just took the opportunity to air your grudges against the modern game development industry. And whatever, I don't like a lot of their practices either, but its not what I was talking about.

Your right, I backtracked and found that the posts had switched from their original point of the KOTOR game. I could guess about my thought process and explain or I could start over from the beginning. if there's a mod discussion thread somewhere I would love a link.

to recap I asked if something new was coming out after seeing the video. You stated that you recognized it was an old game. I acknowledged that the original game Is old because I only played old games. My question was if the 2018 that was visible meant that their was new content coming out. Your response was that the graphics proved that it was old. At which point the conversation was side tracked.

Hopefully you agree with the summary

I think there is a difference between remaking a game and an expansion of an old game. Expansions of games this old are usually done by fans as an add on or a mod.

I have a terrible time installing mods but from what I understand mods are created to be installed into the original game which means that they all are designed to have the same graphics as the original game to help with compatibility. Any mod that alters the graphics is separate from gameplay expansions because otherwise things will overwrite each other and crash.

People can also keep the same graphics because it isn't for sale but a labor of love from the people who loved the original game and want to keep the feel of the game intact.

I checked that 2016 update and it seemed to be done in the same style as the original KOTOR. Which meant that saying the graphics were old wasn't a reason why the content couldn't have been new. The 2016 update was called

Revenge of Revan mod for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II

Is there a thread for a recommended modded KOTOR 2?

Ah I see. No I meant that I thought it was a trailer (for the real game rather than any modded content) which was made by fans in 2018 and that is what the date pointed out.

Alright summary accepted. Good day sir. *Tips hat.*
