:wtf:? :jackiechan:?! :o!!! Holy. Shit. :D!!!!!!!!

I would like to thank @Publicola for the time, effort and trouble they went to for making these maps.

we own so much of the galaxy jeez.

Because the CIS only needs their factory worlds and whatever corporate overlords will support them to have a metric crapton of battle droids, and the Republic has New York and SoCal and Chicago so they have a bunch of the people and money and power.

Oh. I have my own personal project for us dependent on time. I want to investigate the situation of Maarisa Zsinj, fleet admiral of the Republic, "Ace of the Spacelanes", working out of Eriadu's Republic Outland Regions Security Force (now the Republic 18th Army). Her canon fate (getting stuffed into a fridge to make her son, Warlord Zsinj, more vile) cannot be allowed to stand because she seems like a clever badass lady and Star Wars does not have enough of them.

And yet, canonically, we're third at best in might.

Not to mention that a majority of the CNS systems do not have a strong economy and the war didn't help as the main reason profits are being churned in are the IGBC and the fact that trade is being funneled through the CNS space (which still means that its a wee bit inefficient as goods that would be transported by 1 ship is being transported by 3 different ones for each step of the journey) to avoid the war. In addition the CNS government is 'intended' as a temporary measure until the end of the war as a good chunk of the systems are either still loyal to the Republic to some extend and others are disillusined with the CIS in its current form. The military meanwhile is also only a defense force, lacking woefully behind the CIS and Republic even with the support from various corporations expanding into the CNS sphere and Thrawns aid.

It's like cancer, spreading all over.

Did you run out of teabags, and the store is closed?

My last remaining family members aside from my mom severed contact with me and my mom a couple of days ago, we got severe money problems, had to deal with particularly incompetent bureaucrats to even get our unemploment money for months and I'm a bit mentaly ill so I'm not doing particularly well by default. In addition today I hear from my steapdad that he is being harrased by his own parents to the point that he is tempted to give up and leave the country.

So, no. I still have enough tea.

From the Supreme Chancellor's Office

I've been betting that Palps was letting Ciaran grow as much as he did because doing so helped frighten the Republic core more, allowing him to grow his own power faster on the heavily populated core worlds of the Republic.

Also, cool omake. I liked it.

So, on a lark, I decided to see how we have grown and spread out across the Galaxy. My reaction?

What is that? 6 turns and each turn is 1 quarter? In that case the CNS has emerged as a fragile but still potent contender in 1.5 years.

The CIS also lost heavily, and not just minor systems as the Republic has mostly been losing. Could the CIS turn into an automated fleet without much territory? Or have they been taking more of the Republic's outer systems?

Not to mention that a majority of the CNS systems do not have a strong economy and the war didn't help as the main reason profits are being churned in are the IGBC and the fact that trade is being funneled through the CNS space (which still means that its a wee bit inefficient as goods that would be transported by 1 ship is being transported by 3 different ones for each step of the journey) to avoid the war. The CNS is extremely fragile. Not only does it lack much of a military compared to the Republic and the CIS, it also lacks a strong ideological glue, which is going to make it difficult to gather support if the CNS is seriously attacked. Especially if it is attacked subtly.

Well boo to all that!

Small Manipulations (Canon)
Small Manipulations
"Ciaran... I know for a fact that nothing is sheduled today and everything is handled, so why am I seeing you pull strings again? What for anyway?"
"You do know how I dislike that the Jedi have been set up as Generals? Which I had to talk them out of so they would at least get some education on war beforehand? Well, there happens to be a certain important Jedi with quite a temper and hotheadedness who I just sent a personal aide by manipulating a few documents."
"Let me guess... Skywalker? Also, who is the guy unfortunate enough to be working for him in the military now?"
"A man called Erv Lekauf. Something tells me that they will get along quite well."
---
"Why am reading here that you have just send a lot of credits to that dustbowl Tatooine? We have no influence there except for the local group of the Silver Cross."
"Well, I happen to know a former slave there, her husband and that husbands family. That particular person helps out the Silver Cross since as a former slave she can direct them quite well to those who need help the most. Also, to keep her busy and put her son at ease."
"Ohhh... Shmi Skywalker. Yeah, I said nothing."
---
"Why did you just order a years worth of expensive food and sent it to Tatooine?"
"Stinkys birthday is soon, so I decided to send some gifts for that little future crimelord. Not that I will be still alive by the time he is an adult, but I guess the thought counts and it will please his father."
"Stinky?"
"Rotta the Hutt."
"Ohhh..."
---
"Do I even want to ask where all that money just went?"
"Well, if you want to know... I happen to know..."
"Okay, forgot that I asked. Nevermind. I'm busy. See you later. Bye."
"... Wow."

The Grand Fleet (Canon)
The Grand Fleet
Amongst all the Abyss Watcher members their pilots are the least busy most of the time as they see little action unless they are supporting the CNS anti-piracy efforts or more rarely the mercenary-arm of the organisation. Starfighters simply rarely lend themselves to being usefull for infiltration.

Of course, that doesn't mean that they are bad at their job as the Abyss Watchers are very dedicated to competence and quality, so by extend the 'Oracle Fleet' can keep up with most CIS and Republic fleets after the 'Grand Fleet' intitiative. Still... the boredom is nearly lethal sometimes...

"So, remind me again since I haven't been paying attention during the last briefing... how does this whole fleet work again? I mean, our biggest ship is the Oracle and its a damn Lucrehulk." Josdaq... a complete moron from some backwater planet whom I wish I could throw out of an airlock sometimes, but even being his superior unfortunately wasn't enough to be allowed to do that since I would have to request the permission from a lot higher in the chain of command. So, here I am. Drien Whibet, Sullustan Ace Pilot. Stuck explaining to some idiot who was too busy sleeping during briefing the entire fleet.

"Allright. Listen up and shut up or you won't be flying anything bigger than a Tug for the rest of your life. The Oracle is specially modified collos capable of taking at least two Capital-ships, we have lots of frigates and cruisers dedicated to anti-fighter and anti-bomber duty and have a balanced ammount of fighters and bombers available. We set up a highly mobile killzone, shred the enemies fighters and bombers and have the Oracle draw the attention of hostile captial ships. Its that easy... in theory. In practice, listen to your goddamn superior during battle and you'll be fine. Besides, even the oldest of our fighters has been modified." Obviously, I didn't actually bother explaining anything for real as that guy was likely just going to get himself killed and cost us a good chunk of credits... which would piss of our weapons engineer as he would've have to modify the replacement fighter. Again. One-armed.

"Errr..." Yep, thats enough. "Okay, shut up. Every ship we have has shields and the ability for you to eject, even the oldest ones. So, no flying coffins for us. In addition the weapons engineer has deviced a stop-gap solution to the issue of rerouting power between engines, weapons and shields by adding small power cells to any fighter and bomber capable of holding them so that it can immideately act as if power settings had been fully adjusted while the generator itself is actually still trying to power the systems to the desired degree. So, buy him a beer when you see him and he isn't on pain medication. Like right now, as I see him over there..."

The 'weapons engineer' as most don't even know his name and only his initials was a interesting fellow. Early fifties, ex-military, former engineer, badly paralysed to the point that Karada has given up and didn't even try to replace the failing arm and leg with cybernetics due to braindamage. Still limped everywhere with a cane and did his work with one arm, A LOT of improvisation and being simply smarter than a lot of others despite his brain having a huge hole in it. Also had a good sense of gauging what a person is like... as once again evidenced by him knocking out Josdaq with his cane after only about two minutes of talking with him. Definitely should buy him a beer for that since that sight made my day.

Just another day in the Grand Fleet of the Abyss Watchers... Oh well, hopefully I'll get to shoot someone soon.

((The weapons engineer is the 'Weapons Engineer M. St.' again.))

game balance what is that

it sounds so wonderful but i have no idea what it's like

Ahem. Anyway. All of these are canon except that one Thrawn-related part of Small Manipulations for Reasons. Still that's...5 +10s.

You know at this rate I'm fairly certain there will be so many bonuses there will be 40 left over when the quest ends or something.

Only thing I'm wondering right now is when someone will get suspicious about the Weapons Engineer. Also, happy to see your despair Dr. Snark.

Statement: Ciaran is a Mary Sue

"I must admit, I was unaware you had such resources at your disposal." you said, following your newest ally through the halls of her rather expansive base. It was risky, bringing a wild card such as Lady Ciaran in on anything, and that was an opinion that had formed when you knew her as a close friend.

"My enterprises have come quite a ways since last we chatted like this. It's amazing what you can do with a little blood, sweat, and tears." said Ciaran.

You scoffed at that. "I assume you refer to the blood, sweat, and tears of others?" Most people might fall for the narrative that Ciaran had pulled herself up out of Coruscant's lower levels by her bootstraps, but you knew her success rode on luck and the exploitation of others, even if that exploitation was mutually beneficial most of the time.

The insult rolled off of her like water, and she actually laughed with the insult. "No more than your own successes, Count." Your face remained stoic, but inside you chaffed at the truth of her words. It had been too long since you had done anything personally to impact the galaxy at large, despite the immense power you wielded.

The two of you arrived at Lady Ciaran's dining quarters, where the two of you planned to discuss… plans. Preferably over a glass of finely aged Corellian wine. The scene that greeted you was tragically familiar, two droids in a heated argument. Though unlike B4-39 and B6-02, Ciaran's droids were in conflict over some ideological difference, instead of their own stupidity as your mechanical servants were apt to do.

"Statement: This is a prime opportunity to eliminate a great threat." You recognized the first droid as an HK model, though both highly customized and extremely outdated compared to the models produced by the CIS.

"I will not allow you to ruin a Corellian ATC 1010 with synox." You recognized that vintage. Ciaran truly hadn't spared any expense. Not that she ever did. It was all in or not at all with her. "Besides, Lady Ciaran and Count Dooku have come to terms. Poisoning him now would be uncalled for."

"Counterpoint: Killing a foe is significantly easier when they are a friend, and least expecting it." You took a breath before clearing your throat to make your presence known, but Ciaran interrupted you, holding up a hand to stop you from interfering with this plot of your assassination.

"You just haven't killed a Sith in a while. That's it, isn't it?" countered the protocol droid. That information was startling. The line of Sith had remained unbroken (save by itself) and hidden from even the Jedi for centuries. For this HK droid to have killed Sith… just how old a model was it?

"Statement: That is not the point. My experiences in these matters lead me to the conclusion that a Sith will betray you whenever possible. Killing him now is only prudent." If it were possible for such a monotone droid to sound indignant, this one had managed it.

"Perhaps, but it would also be prudent not to discuss your plans to do so in front of him." You didn't need to be nearly as skilled at reading people as you were to hear the laughter in Ciaran's voice as she startled the two droids.

"Ah, Lady Ciaran! Thank goodness you've arrived. Worry not, your selection is still untampered with." assured the protocol droid.

"Thank you PR-1." It felt good to finally be reminded of the droid's name. Ciaran had owned the thing since forever, but you'd never really taken notice of it when you'd known her. "And I think your awareness programs might need upgrading." You noticed the protocol droid practically jump with excitement at the word. "Head down to Cheriss, and take HK-47 with you."

"Query: Might I kill something after I'm done there, Master?" If there was anything that could surprise you more than learning that this droid had apparently killed Sith, it was hearing it call Ciaran master.

"If you behave for Cheriss, you can take some local bounties with the rest of the day. But stay on planet, and I want you back by tomorrow." If you didn't know it to be a biological impossibility, you'd liken Ciaran to the droid's mother rather than its master. "PR-1, before you go, could you pour two glasses of that Corellian ACT 1010?"

"Of course Lady Ciaran." She gestured to the seats, and you both sat down in unison as the droid poured your drinks.

"Corellian 1010. A fine vintage." you say. It's a perfectly neutral comment designed to transition away from the drama of a droid plotting your death.

"Perhaps we can enjoy it while we go over our plans and consolidate what we can." said Ciaran, gesturing to a display on the table between you.

"I couldn't agree more." you said, wondering how valuable that HK droid was to her plans. If Ciaran had more such assets, your rebellion might very well be doable.

AN: I thought to myself, what more could Ciaran possibly have to make us jealous? And yes, that's the real HK-47, if the GM is kind/sadistic enough to canonize it.

Meta-AN: Oh hey, an omake. Some things are consistent even in the Negaverse. Nega-me writes in the first SECOND person though. You'll notice I almost never do this, because I absolutely hate writing in the first (and/or second) person.
