I'mma just going to point out that the Covenant information is more speculation than fact. It's not the big gun you're assuming it to be.

Yeah, Ciaran doesn't actually have enough information to fill in the gaps, I just wanted to show why that information was a big deal.

Oh Force this is going to be one of those turns when we want to do everything, but can't.

We got to stop the Bacta Cartel from plunging the CNS into the war, we have to stop Wat Tambor and his army of lightsaber immune droids (though in legends this was the one time Palpatine actually agreed with the Jedi that these things had to go), we have to interfere with the Temple Bombing... and that's all the intrigue actions used up.

I hate to see what other decisions we'll have to make.

Write in ideas:

Foundry Task Force: In essence, a group of droids (lead by HK?) with meatbag oversight via comms and cameras that regularly work through the station to disable the production centers so meatbags can move in safely for clean up and refurbishment. If the enemy only activates on organics, why not take full advantage of that?

Jedi Youngling Protection Ops: This protesting...does not sit well. Let's see if we can't help the Jedi move their children and nonessential personnel offsite until this is all sorted.

But you know what is a scandal?

The Jedi's ability to take force sensitive children when they're still infants, often in spite of protesting parents.

Jedi Recruiters are a thing, and nobody likes them.

All we have to do is find the right sob-story. Feed the parents through a number of third party agencies the horrible truth of just what happened to their kids (not everyone grows up to be a Knight. Padawan stage is great at culling the weak-willed)

Production was already stopped by HK.

As for the latter...interesting. I'll consider it and get back to you in a bit.

You do realize that in doing so we will help Palpatine. That may or may not be useful afterwards but we want the Jedi strong enough to cause Palpatine to have to keep some of his attention on them and so he does not feel secure enough to mess with us even more directly then he has before.

Don't you realize? Ciaran has secretly been on Palpatine's side since the beginning.

The Jedi are obsolete, error prone, over eager to jump to conclusions, and as dangerous for ourselves as for Palpatine. Besides, what is harder to monitor, one united group who headquarters next door, or 100 or more divergent organizations scattered amongst the stars?

No, they aren't.

The Jedi wouldn't vaporize the planet Ciaran was standing on if they realized the threat she posed to them. Palpatine really would.

Which is less threatening to him, at which point he may turn his attention elsewhere and then may notice all the plots we have going. No keeping the Jedi as a strong force keeps much of his attention on them and as a Sith he wants to destroy the order, so he is a bit less then rational in his focus on them and he presumes them to be his greatest foe. Let him underestimate our direct threat to him for as long as possible. He already has taken some notice of us but drawing further attention is unwise at this time.

Palpatine needs to be able to execute Order 66 and not have the galaxy revolt. The more terrible PR the Jedi get, the easier it is to villainize them and justify why he would need to order the Clones to kill them. If we threw more fuel onto that fire that'd just be helping his hateboner and move along one of the big things he needs to accomplish before winning the Clone War and taking control. We need to delay him doing that.

So ignoring the ten thousandth argument about the morality of the Jedi Order, I think we can all agree that Palpatine is bad and we shouldn't make his job any easier.

Right, before we get too carried away need to acknowledge a thing:

This is most...intriguing. Non-canon +10, but still quite a fascinating look into a potential future.

I'm happy I'm giving you ideas for Post-Palpatine.

Even if you don't like the Yuuzhan Vong and consider them non-canon (even if they were planned to appear in TCW in the style of the X-Files before Disney cancelled the show), the Far Outsiders can be reinterpreted as something else. All Thrawn knows is from Kinman Dorianan (the guy Palpatine sent with a TF fleet to destroy the Outbound Flight):

"There's an invasion coming. A massive assault force of dark ships, shadowy figures, and weapons of great power, based on organic technology of a sort we've never seen before. We believe these Far Outsiders, as we call them, already have a foothold at the far edge of the galaxy, and even now have scouting parties seeking information on worlds and peoples to conquer...."
"When will Darth Sidious tell [the citizens of the Republic]?"
"When he's turned the Republic's chaos into order," Doriana said. "When we've built an army and a fleet capable of dealing with the threat. To announce it before then would do nothing but create panic and leave us open to disaster.
"

And fun facts, their first recorded sighting is just before the Mandalorian Wars when Canderous Ordo hit one of scout ships that was disguised as a asteroid during a pirate hunt. It managed to melt the Mandalorians armour like wax with Thermal weaponary before fleeing out of the Galaxy with the Mandalorians hot on its tail.

And surprise number two, Darth Maul has fought and killed one when he was undercover in a prison colony.

What I am surprised most of you don't seem to be considering is that the Temple Bombing event could give us considerable favor with the Jedi. Even if we can't foil it, this could give us an actual trail that could lead to the Chancellor's supporters at the very least. If we can expose that there are forces in the Republic that might want to take them down and set up the protest, they might be more open with working with Ciaran in some way.

This could boost our chances of taking down Palpatine a lot if we play it right. We just need to set it up in a way that won't have the Jedi just charge at the Chancellor and cause a trainwreak.

Production may be stopped, but there are still plenty of active bots IIRC, and we aren't really doing anything else with our droids.

I'm tempted to write up a "Personnel Staff For Everyone" write in, so we can finally hit 3 actions in some categories.

A/N: Post or send me your write-in suggestions, and I'll add them to the list!

Publicola's Write-In Megalist: Turn 27 Actions

Martial

[] Foundry Assault Teams: "Your graduation exam will be a mission with a Foundry Assault Team. If you survive you pass. Oh and the droids there have been constantly adapting to our tactics. Good luck." Sending your agents to reclaim the Foundry, one level at a time. Reward: Foundry reclaimed as an Abyss Watcher base, improved chance of promoting Guardians [Takes 2+ turns, locks action for 1 turn] OR turn this into a Hero action for HK-47 or one of our Martial heroes?

[] Skyguy's Backup: Anakin Skywalker is always getting into trouble. Assign our agents to always help get him out of it. The more he relies on Ciaran and her organization, the more likely he'll view us fondly and maybe even join us down the road. (Basically: I'd like to follow up on our work with the 501st. Anyone got a more specific idea for this?)

[] Jedi Youngling Protection Ops: This protesting...does not sit well. Let's see if we can't help the Jedi move their children and nonessential personnel offsite until this is all sorted. Work with Yoda and the Jedi Council, to refurbish a disused Jedi Temple or Academy. Or build one of our own, location given out on a strict need-to-know basis, as a back-up for Temple residents in case of emergency....

Diplomacy

[] Negotiate for Thyferra (CNS): solve the darn thing!
-- Seriously, we need to brainstorm. Our 'successful' roll last turn gave us minimal info besides telling us that Palpatine wasn't involved, but we need to figure out a solution here. Dr. Snark seemingly vetoed my suggestion last turn for negotiating a peaceful transition of Thyferra to CNS control -- we give concessions to the CIS (make an open offer, then negotiate down) in exchange for limited access to bacta for civilian use. Anyone have any better ideas, because I'm pulling a blank?

[] If Angels Were To Govern Men: appealing to the Senate's better nature isn't going to work. But all politicians are susceptible to pressure from the general public, and Ciaran is the most popular philanthropist in the galaxy. Push for a measure to amend the Palpatine Tax (use friendly media to relabel it as such) to allow the 'contribution' of neutral systems to be paid in donations to Silver Cross, Refugee Relief Movement, or other charitable organizations.

Stewardship

[] Sienar Custom Vessels:
-[] Chu'unthor: finish the repairs & retrofit, including stealth drive (FYI: the stygium mines of Aeten II are within Neutral Space, so we should have a supply that's not prohibitively expensive...)
-[] Hospital Base-Ship (find better name?): there are a lot of species in the galaxy, and a lot of planets, and many of them have little access to health care. Ask Raith Sienar to design a hospital ship that can convert into an earth-side hospital building. This would ensure that they'd be versatile enough to help with both space- and land-based battles, and allow you to offer medical care to impoverished native populations around the galaxy....

[] Medical Battlefleet: use the new Karada Shipyard over Taris to produce an armada of hospital ships -- light-frigate flagship(s), with the bulk of the fleet being lightly armed but well-defended and highly manueverable corvettes, able to intervene in the immediate aftermath of a battle to save lives (following the model of the Sudden Restoration). Make sure each ship is outfitted with a neutralizer for clone inhibitor chips, and that the medical personnel is trained for dealing with clones. Reward: lives saved, good PR, improved relations with Kal Skirata, expanded network of clone deserters...)

[] Deepen Baobab Partnership: meet with this elusive Mungo Baobab, and maybe take a tour of the Baobab Archives... (follow up on last turn's Action)

[] Host the Galactic Games : thanks to our investments, Sports Development Programs, and arenas, Taris has reclaimed its swoop-bike heritage and is suitable for hosting the Galactic Games. Thanks to its location (in the heart of Neutral Space), it's also an ideal candidate for hosting such an event in the midst of an ongoing war. Seal the deal.

[] Organize Galactic Swoop Racing Circuit: re-found racing circuit from days of the Old Republic, as symbol of Taris's revitalization. Rewards: PR, tourism income, meet celebrities, invite guests (annoy Padme), etc. Perhaps establish a separate 'Force-only Circuit' designed for Force-capable pilots? (Use that as a draw to invite & recruit minor Force sects from around the galaxy...).

Intrigue

[] Point Fry's Codebreaker at Shu Mai and the Commerce Guild leadership...

Lore:
[] Archaeological Expeditions:
-[] Cularin: seriously. There's a ridiculous amount of stuff to visit, including a 'maverick' Jedi Academy, lightsaber-resistant metal in the asteroids, multiple Force artifacts of terrifying power, a Force-sensitive species of bipedal chameleons... yeah.
-[] Endor: I have no idea how much of the TV show is 'canon' for this quest, but the sheer weirdness of everything here might be worth our time...
-[] Kathol Outback: you've heard rumors about weird Force-wielding aliens who hate slavery and know how to teleport. Might be worth checking out...

[] Prepare the Chu'unthor: once Raith Sienar refurbishes the praxeum-ship to his satisfaction, you'll be using it to make contact with Force sects from all over the galaxy. Make sure it's ready for everything -- fully-kitted barracks, simulation rooms, lightsaber parts, training manuals, etc. (improved chance of recruiting and/or learning from Force sects once Chu'unthor is active...)

Learning:

[] Cheaper Genemods: develop cheaper and less invasive methods for genemodding, so the tech is accessible to our lower-level soldiers (esp. Agents and Walkers), or even available for sale to the general public...

[] Near-Human Genemods: ask your Arkanian geneticists to expand the offerings of 'near Human' genemods that are on offer. Specifically:
- Icarii (weird biology, humans that can survive dismemberment/decapitation)
- Ferrerreo (regenerative, gold-skinned humans)
- Epicanthix (genetic immunity to Jedi mind tricks & telepathy...)
- Omwati -- blue skin, feather head, exceptionally intelligent though physically fragile
- Nothoiin -- gold skin, naturally gifted pilots
- Balosar -- antennapalps provide a degree of empathy & danger sense; their heavily polluted homeworld has also made them somewhat poison-resistant
- Trailian -- considered 'beautiful' and naturally Force-sensitive
- Sephi -- lavender skin and pointy ears, naturally long-lived, known for a natural affinity for droids & machinery
- Voss -- freaky compound eyes, best known for a natural disposition for highly accurate Force Visions
- Kiffar -- baseline humans with an odd genetic mutation, that 1 out of 100 Kiffar has a natural 'psychometry' ability

[] Vulture Droid Upgrade: ask Cheriss to design improvements to the 'vulture droid' starfighter, either to the physical chassis or to the software/programming. Thanks to mechu-daru, there's really no limit to the potential improvements, though she'll need to be careful to keep things mass-producible. Perhaps she could also ask Raith to offer his advice, or look over the schematics before they're finalized.

Personal:

[] Recruit Talesan Fry: he lives on Taris, so he clearly trusts us enough to move to a planet we own and operate. He knows something's rotten in the state of Denmark, so invite him into our confidence and make him part of the team... OR turn into Diplomacy Action? OR a Stewardship Action?

Hero Units:

Jango

[] help Kal Skirata set up clone sanctuaries, provide 'official cover' for now-civilian clones (...claim Mandalorian citizenship?) Recruit for Mandalorian Guardians or Abyss Watchers or 'security personnel' for new hospital ships...

HK-47

Cheriss

PR-1

Asajj

Grievous

[] Hire Kaori Batta: everyone knows where to find him. The self-acclaimed 'best big-game hunter in the galaxy' is a regular at Exovar's Emporium on Neftali. Suggest that Grievous challenge him to a competition...

hmmm

Don't we have Dantooine? IIRC.

I wonder if Dooku is looking for a new apprentice. His last one did have a bit of a mishap, recently.

I really don't see why we shouldn't meet Dooku for Dinner. If anything goes wrong, we can pull a Traya and cut Dooku's connection to the Force while giving a philosophical rant about how he screwed everything up. He will then decide he can't live without the Force and end his life then and there.

...What? Why else did we decide to become Kreia's apprentice? Doesn't anyone want a repeat of that Light Side Jedi Council scene in KOTOR 2?

Only solution to Thyferra is if they withdraw their application. No other way to do it. Everything else leads somewhere bad.

They're in this because the Bacta Corp thinks it's profitable, nothing more. A few ways to do this. One is a Diplomacy Action where we make it clear to them that this will not be profitable to them. Probably mandates about slave labor and whatnot at minimum. Maybe find a way to put the formula for bacta in play that doesn't make the CNS look exploitative. Basically make them withdraw in disgust. This is eh. A bit hard to finagle though because everything is determined by dice rolls we'll probably turn out fine.

Other way goes back to classic Ciaran. Backalley fear, intimidation, sabotage, and arm twisting. This'd be an Intrigue Action. Convince some of the higher ups personally that joining the CNS may not be the best idea. Some attacks on parts of their operations would be part of it, to back up the threat.

I suppose a third action would be to publicize the hell out of the inhumane conditions of their workers and the planet and whatever it is they have going on. Demonize them. Gives the CNS a damn convenient pretext to reject their application for being antithetical to the noble values of the Council of Neutral Systems.

The Diplo options are okay, the grassroots better than anything, but the Intrigue Action is the one I think is best. We're best off if Thyferra chooses to go away "independently" and silently.

Granted, I have not been keeping up on all the omakes, but I'm pretty sure Ciaran doesn't know how to do that.

I don't think Ciaran knows how to cut somebody's connection to the Force. As far as I know, there are no indications of her learning that ability.
