Mounting Protests At Jedi Temple: Recently protests around the Jedi Temple have been increasing in intensity, with protestors decrying what they describe as Jedi interference in the war. Many protestors cite Hukgate as evidence that Jedi interventionism no matter how insignificant it may seem is becoming more of a hindrance than an aid to the galaxy as a whole, and believe that the Order should focus more closely on peacekeeping duties in general. watch this closely - many echoes are about to converge

Ah... remember when I wrote about Ahsoka joining because of the Temple bombing... well the Temple Bombing is about to happen. This does raise an interesting question, do you think we could recruit Bariss as well... I mean she's not wrong in her beliefs.

(SEMI-CLASSIFIED) Dinner Offer From Dooku!?: ...Okay apparently Count Dooku has sent a formal invitation to Ciaran out of the blue to have a formal dinner with him on the planet of Serenno. Given that he's been attempting to assassinate/blackmail/etc her there's no way she'd be crazy enough to go meet with him directly of her own free will.

My friend there's nothing too crazy Ciaran won't do. I mean this isn't out of character for Dooku, he once invited Master Yoda round to see if he could convince him to stop the Jedi Order fighting for the Republic, while Yoda tried to, in a polite and civil manner, convince Dooku to surrender himself. I can remember much, but I do recall that Dooku got a vision of what would happen if Yoda turned to the Dark Side, he was apparently scarier than Sidious.

Thing is we're not entirely sure what Dooku wants. From what little we know from canon omakes he dislikes Sidious for making him order Ventress' death, but we have no idea how far he is prepared to go.

No that our subconscious, it's way more annoying.

Strap in, bitches, and get ready for one hell of a ride...
That's... ominous.

Thanks for the rumor mill and update!

Key points:
  • Maul and Savage are making a mess of the underworld -- fortunately, Ventress has them pretty well in-hand.
  • Dooku wants to meet (?!?!)
  • A mystery ship has been attacking the Republic Navy -- anyone have any ideas?
  • There's ongoing protests outside the Jedi Temple -- strains of Hukgate, potential ties to the Techno Union's cortosis battle droids, potential tie-in to Barriss Offee and the Temple bombing... lots of possible trouble on the horizon here.

@Dr. Snark: want me to post write-ins for next turn?

@ Everyone else: if/as soon as he gives the go-ahead, please offer your suggestions for potential actions for next turn or the future. I'll pull them together with suggestions of my own in a convenient megalist.

...Why does Dooku want a dinner with Ciaran? I mean, sure he's been trying to undo Ciaran but it's via the relatively honest means of assassins and evidence of corruption, he's...not really the sort to invite someone to a meal for the purpose of murder, he's a Sith but he's not a natural for betrayal, see his shock in canon at Palpatine betraying him in Episode 3.

I mean, he might still try to murder Ciaran but I think it'd be an on the spot decision after she denied him something.

Also looks like the Zabrak brothers are going to be a bother soon, they're probably trying to find a syndicate to take over but are running into a suspicious apparent power vacuum. We should probably think about murdering them soon.

Thoughts: Okay guys, we've successfully built up our funding, now we're pretty far into use it or lose it territory. There are a ton of options for expanding our military, we should take most of them while we still have the chance. Plus, more battle droids to throw into the foundry is a good thing.
Next: There are several force orders we might be able to recruit wholesale. We should do that this turn.

What we really need is that Sorcery shit. It'll be pulling Rancor teeth to get it, but even just the starting tiers would help.

Dinner with Dooku?

I say go for it, he isn't the type for this to be a trap and I think he still likes us somewhat. We might run face first into Palpatine, but @Dr. Snark wouldn't do that to us. I think. Please have mercy.

You are basically a mirror of Ciaran and her talent is getting under people's skin... so sorry if that came of wrong... it's just difficult to fill the boots Kreia left, she was just too cool.

fair enough
my conscious self feels similarly even if she wouldn't admit it
believe me i would know

Currently almost all (see note) Jedi Order candidates are deemed too unreliable; should they receive the information about Palpatine's Sith Lord status they likely would act rashly and get themselves killed or cause catastrophic political fallout. It is recommended that Jedi outside the Order such as Ferrus Olin be contacted instead if we require Jedi assets.

With these promises of a perfect storm and Thrawn's assessment of the Foundry, I wonder if it is worth putting the Jedi on Palpatine's scent now.

Should at least throw some spanners at Palpatine as he is turning to focus on Ciaran...

You're just asking for a certain creature to become semi-resident in our head.

I'd take probably a subconscious to the person who lives in the Maw any day.

I never noticed before, but I have a real reluctance to mentioning them by name.

With the current public opposition to the Jedi, that's practically signing a death warrant for them.

… (forms a grin akin to the Grinch) the Jedi order is now at the weakest that they have ever been, with the opinions of the membership divergent to the point that it is buckling under the strain. Now, what will happen if we release the Jedi Covenant scandal in such a volatile situation? Will the order survive that kind of stress, or shatter into splinters the size of the other force orders?

Let's... not. Seriously, the Jedi are vastly better than the alternative right now.

I'mma just going to point out that the Covenant information is more speculation than fact. It's not the big gun you're assuming it to be.
