@Dr. Snark, how did they get them a uniform silver? To my understanding, kyber crystals result in a blue, green, or red blade, depending on whether you infuse it with Light Side energy or Dark Side energy, or white if a crystal was previously Dark Side-aligned but then purified.

We're using a mixture of Old EU and Current Canon.

I honestly hate the New Canon's obsession with Kyber, it's already lead to a few plotholes and it's going to lead to a lot more.

The Imperials decided that it was smarter to raid a former Temple for Kyber crystals for the Death Star instead of going to one of the planets they could Strip-Mine?

The Lightsabers needing to be infused with Lightside or Darkside to make a lightsaber? It makes it impossible for Palpatine to be the Chancellor, because the techniques to hide yourself in the force still do not work on objects.

Mace Windu's Purple lightsaber which couldn't exist in the New Canon..

Did he use shatterpoint to blackmail the lightside or something?

The Old Canon was far smarter about it, with Red lightsabers being the result of synthetic crystals.

It also allows for more explanations for why unique crystals are there and more creativity in effects. Now instead of oh it's a crystal from such and such now it's like it can only be a special Kybur crystal.

Another plot hole is why anakin's sabre was still blue

For not apparently they only collapsed the entrance.

Why would we use a kyber crystal?

In canon they seem to be the only things that make Sabers.

As this is not canon we can go for what ever crystals are around, and make our own.

It wouldn't be "accepting" the darkness. Kyber crystals are naturally Light Side-aligned and making them Dark Side-aligned involves forcefully dominating them. This causes them to "bleed" which results in the red colour. That they did that then purified them wouldn't make sense either, because their sabers are silver, not white.

I guess they could've used a non-kyber crystal, but kyber crystals are the most common form of saber crystal out there. Finding that many non-kyber crystals should be very difficult unless I'm mistaken.

I mean, we're clearly using the old EU (for the most part) right now. And as the Imperial Knights demonstrated, it's perfectly possible to standardize an Order on silver 'sabers.

Yep, the purple lightsaber was cool but with the whole Kyber crystal nonsense (which REALLY does cause truckloads of plotholes) it can't even exist.

Exactly. We are using the old EU for NEARLY the entirety of things except for cherry picking if there is something nice in the new one.
Which means: There are A TON of useable crystals for Lightsabers all over the galaxy, Kyber crystals are just 'a bit' more common and aren't remotely special in any way, Red ligthsaber crystals are synthetic, you can add SECONDARY CRYSTALS to your lightsaber to modify the effects of your blade, etc. etc. etc.

I mean, you can use KRAYT DRAGON PEARLS as secondary crystal in KOTOR.

showing off an amber-colored blade that seemed to be slightly unstable.

The part about unstable blades also was something you could do with your lightsaber in KOTOR 1/2. Just don't ask me what the bonus of those were. Its been way too long.

I know I made a massive list of them link to it is in a quote a page back

Huh. Is Personal Combat score a separate thing from pure martial in this game or is that not included in this one like in other CK2-quest games?

It's a subscore. Asajj, as an individual more focused on personal combat, has a trait giving a slightly lower Martial score when commanding troops. Thrawn, as an individual more focused on command, has a trait giving a slightly lower Martial score when in personal combat.

So who wants to do an omake of the Walkers practicing their choreographed entrance complete with synchronized drawing and igniting their lightsabers.

Not just the Walkers, they need the backup of the Agents and their crowd of silver blades igniting all at once.

Ideally it'd be Ciaran, Asajj and the Walkers stalking from the Dark, sabers blazing, with the Agents' blades acting as backup to a badass one liner.

Bonus points for ominous mask illumination.

Just a thought for you. A Blazing Chains force master wielding a gatling blaster. Who needs to aim the gun when you control the bullets. Taste a thousand bolts a minute all hitting in the same two inches.

Also, apropos of nothing... having finished the galaxy survey, I'm just about ready to post my own quest. :D I think I'll wait on publishing it until right after the 4th, so I won't be QMing for the first time during a holiday.)

Good luck to you then good sir.

Not exactly what I had in mind at the time but in hindsight it was a textbook Dorfy Fey Mood, yeah.

Brilliant, I love the personalities at play here, especially that her minions have learned how to harness Ciaran's ego to productive ends.

I also enjoyed the competence that lead Kygeetu to being the first Abyss Walker.
It was quite a shock tbh.

For all of her fangirling Kygeetu is a Kaleesh warrior at heart; she has a far greater grasp of military matters than one might expect if all they see is a fangirl of Ciaran.

Real quick, on the crescent of energy bit. Does the blade launch that crescent like a wave attack? Or is it more like a solid after-image that trails behind the blade's path of movement?

The latter. The former is just a touch too implausible (sadly).

Quoting this for truth. Fact of the matter is that there's just not enough in the new canon (yet) to work with for this style of quest, especially during the Clone Wars era.

In general the new canon and the old EU are separate enough to let me play fast and loose with both (see: EU character Kal Skirata at the canon Battle of Kamino) so it's usually not an issue. In the case of lightsaber crystals it's erring towards the EU since there's more to work with there than "only kyber no ifs ands and buts." Odds are that might get retconned at some point anyway, so...

So, like the darksaber from the Clone Wars series, but with silver instead of black? That's gotta look pretty nifty.

Ciaran's lightsaber is blue-green, but aside from that pretty much.

Er, Dr.Snark

I don't know if you are working on it or just plain forgot. Just letting you know because I'm not sure.

Working on it. Only reason it hasn't been updated sooner was because I was asleep/commenting on thread things.

So I'm rewatching some episodes of 5Ds (the best Yu-Gi-Oh) to get in the card game mood, and holy shit, this line. It's the most perfect summation of the Jedi Order I've ever heard.
