The age thing is actually the Sith's fault. The Exile's order removed the age restriction, the age restriction was added back in during Bane's time, because anyone too old had a high chance of being a Sith Infiltrator.

One of the reasons I dislike the Jedi is visible in the Clone Wars cartoon.

See... Ahsoka Tano, was at her oldest possible age, 13 years old at Christophsis. Most likely younger.

They sent Children out to die in a war they had no choice in.
yeah, HEY KIDS WANT TO SEE A DEAD BODY? NO? TO BAD YOUR GOING TO LEAD A ARMY AND YOU GET NO SAY IN IT AT ALL!!!!!

Rule of thumb, the most evil of actions are often committed in the belief that they are a good. Individuals who are blinded by faith and dogma are sometimes willing to commit atrocities in the name of said faith. … I wonder if the Jedi have a force method they developed so that they can sacrifice their own life to end the lives of their opponents?

The Mantle is NOT a standard crystal. This is a crystal that, by its very nature, takes the best out of whatever you put in it and amplifying it. In terms of KOTOR, this was stat boosting the stat boosts of your other crystals. Have the Solari? Put the Mantle in as well and you've suddenly got the POWER OF THE LIGHT (all caps necessary, because damn that bonus against Dark Siders). It makes anything you use with it flat better.
Link it with our other unique crystal, become a lava bender.

I mean, I just posted what it does...

I'm on mobile, so now that I'm caught up someone will probably ninja me again, but:

In the context of the quest...it probably boosts all Force abilities. Along with being a very powerful symbol for our lightsaber. Getting rid of it is getting rid of our 'saber being unique. And possibly getting rid of the best crystal in the Galaxy. The Heart of the Guardian is great and all, if we find it. But it's not as great. Probably worth giving to Anakin though.

Really? Something that small? What can it do?

It's one of literally a handful of artifacts in the galaxy which can make a Jedi or Sith stronger without insanity.

I don't mean that it boosts their control or makes them appear stronger.

It actually makes a person stronger in the force, by a significant amount so long as they use it as a channel. It allows a person with even a minor connection to the force to be as capable with the force as an average Jedi, and would likely allow an average Jedi strength in the force similar to Anakin.

The only thing that can make a person stronger that doesn't have a greater than 50% risk of insanity is the Valley of the Jedi, and that's not exactly an amplifier so much as a Nexus, which can boost your power at the cost of having the voices of the Jedi and Sith who died to Banes thought bomb in your head.

Eh, dual-wielding is handled kind of poorly. It shouldn't be a guaranteed path to superior ability, otherwise everyone would do it. It should take specific training to be able to use it well.
Mate, that's exactly why he said to learn to dual-wield in the first place. No one reasonable expects for us to pick up another lightsaber and suddenly become a laser-buzzsaw of doom.

Personally I sort of, very vaguely, want to give it to Anakin purely to see what happens.

Like, he's supposed to be the Chosen of the Force, right? What happens if you stick a Force amplifier on top of that, does he just become God or what.

Also my phone kept trying to correct "purely" in "purely to see what happens" to "poorly" but I'm sure that doesn't mean anything :V

Having an extra blade didn't save Anakin from Dooku. Having three extra blades didn't save Grievous from Obi-Wan.

In KOTOR, dual wielding those two crystals made you god of destruction. I suspect, in here, there would be some rather large downside to trying to use both at once. Especially with what the Mantle is implied to be, sentience-wise.

Duel wielding works great for Droids or species that are significantly stronger than the human baseline, but when fighting someone wielding one weapon with two, you are essentially forced to fight as if you are wielding only one because otherwise your lightsaber will just be consistently batted away. You need to use both to block one.

Dual wielding's main advantage for most of the galaxy then is blocking blaster shots.

Now, dual wielding with significantly greater strength on the other hand? You block with one and cut them in half with the other.
