Does it really count as 'binge' reading if it's spaced out over a week?
And there's a lot of improvements compared to the last one too. I guess Teron's finally getting better. That, or he finally found a beta. Either way, I'm really liking this new thread.
This 'sequel thread' is actually run by Dr. Snark. Sadly, he's recently become a productive member of society, so updates have slowed down, but he's still an awesome QM. And the rest of us find a way to keep ourselves entertained in the meanwhile, usually by reading the nigh-daily Panory omakes. Teron's still around, too, contributing an occasional info post to send everyone into a tizzy -- like his "oh, by the way, here is Ciaran's extended family, including a cousin who's enslaved to a Hutt" omake that made everyone panic for a few pages.

Though that did result in Silas Cata gaining a bunch of 'grandchildren' traits  so it worked out in the end.

ARGH! There's that horrible M-word again!
Eh. Midichlorians haven't really bothered me since @Panory's "Link to the Past" omake:
"I wish to learn, so that I may better understand what the Force is."

"Hah!" laughed Vectivus. "People have been asking that for millennia, and we're no closer to the answer. People thought they were onto something with mitichlorians, but those are just an indicator of the Force. A result, not the cause. If you want to know what the Force is, I can't tell you. And I'm pretty close to being part of it."
Boom. One line, instant headcanon.

Midichlorians are Force-sensitive microscopic organisms that migrate to (and propagate in the presence of) individuals who are strong in the Force. They don't generate the mystical field; they feed off it. You can use them to determine approximate strength, just as you can check ecological density to tell if a planet is fertile or barren. But that's about all they're good for.

Uh, you do know that @Teron turned everything over to @Dr. Snark(Which is why there was a new thread made)? And that it's now Snark's Quest to run? Teron helps in the background a little, but by and large, this is Dr. Snark's run as QM/GM("Course he's been majorly helped out by our omake writers, namely @Panory). Seriously, how does one miss that?!

E: Noghri'd by Publicola. My fucking slow ass computer screen, I swear to god...

......Well, uh.

This is embarrassing.
Does it really count as 'binge' reading if it's spaced out over a week?
It is if you have the intention to read it, got yelled at by the boss for not doing the paper, forgot about it for a few days, then finally binge reading it proper on for the last four hours.
ARGH! There's that horrible M-word again!
...I don't get it.
We should check Cheriss' midichlorian count while we're at it too.
How would you do that to a species of rocks that doesn't have a single drop of blood?

Yes, yes, I'm an idiot, inattentive moron who obviously can't see the obvious when it's staring at me right in the face, and sometimes not even then. My boss and my mom have made that clear several times. Nice to see that the people on the net are joining in the trend too. Excuse me while I huddle in a corner and cry.
One of the many benefits of being Darth Traya is that any attempt to check her midi-chlorian count automatically returns an "Out Of Cheese, Please Reboot Universe" error. Most people aren't willing to try a second test.
...I still don't get it. But in the interest of pretending I know what the joke was all about and not sounding like a total philistine, have a 'Funny' anyway.

In that case (given the blaster frame) are we sure that Chewie's bowcaster would still use a metal quarrel? I mean, we're arguing headcanon here, but I never got the impression there was a physical arrow being shot, but that it was an amped-up energy weapon that Chewie built to look like a traditional bowcaster.

At least for the original trilogy. Then The Force Awakens has us paying a lot more attention to the bowcaster, because Han realizes that Chewie had upgraded it to give it quite a bit more oomph. Whether that upgrade was something like agrocite (used to boost power output for turbolasers) or something more like a maser (energy bolt carrying kinetic force), or both, or something else entirely, is where my headcanon is up in the air.

That was brilliant, fyi. Just wanted to say that, since a 'like' didn't really suffice.

Per the wiki, the Battle of Honoghr takes place in the fifth month of BBY 20, so if this quest's timeline follows canon, we should be able to intervene next turn. (OTOH, if Dr. Snark already has plans for next turn, perhaps the battle could be delayed by another month to ensure we can give this our attention.) It's also worth noting that the Honoghr temple where Grievous finds the SIP is of Rakatan design, and is guarded by unique-looking defense droids that were probably also created by the Rakatan Empire. So perhaps a critical success might let us keep a few of them to play around with...?

Miniature Wookie-like assassins and bodyguards -- yeah, let's do this.

Nope, from what I can tell, unless you use recoil compensation systems, Wookie Bowcasters kick like a mule compared to other weapons, due to the fact that Wookies tend to have higher strength/muscle mass.

There is even a bounty hunter/assassin in either Clone Wars or Rebels that uses a modified one as his main stay weapon.

There are, however, Bowcasters that have been modified to fire just the plasma, to generate a blaster bolt, for lower stopping power, but gain the ability to be fired thirty or so times before reloading.

'It depends on the Wookie' basically, as each one is usually handbuilt.

not sure if it's not cannon really. always thought of them this way ever since I saw episode one. scene they were explained in was some-what written, but basic common sense and remembering the fact that obi-wan is talking to a young child, then it is early apparent they are just an indicator, not a cause. unless it's someplace in the novelization, they never outright say they are the cause.

Wish I had your luck. Unfortunately, in the movie they are described as necessary to connect with the Force

The Phantom Menace screenplay said:
ANAKIN : Master, sir...I've been wondering...what are midi-chlorians?
QUI-GON : Midi-chlorians are a microcopic lifeform that reside within all living cells and communicates with the Force.
ANAKIN : They live inside of me?
QUI-GON : In your cells. We are symbionts with the midi-chlorians.
ANAKIN : Symbionts?
QUI-GON : Life forms living together for mutual advantage. Without the midi-chlorians, life could not exist, and we would have no knowledge of the
Force. They continually speak to you, telling you the will of the Force.
ANAKIN : They do??
QUI-GON : When you learn to quiet your mind, you will hear them speaking to you.
ANAKIN : I don't understand.
QUI-GON : With time and training, Annie...you will.
So the Force exists separate from the midchlorians... but no one would be able to feel it or manipulate it without midichlorians. Apparently.

And then there are rocks ... which might have their own symbionts to 'speak' with the Force. Alternatively it could be described as 'research error/misinterpretation' and be ignored.
Where are the MC in a force ghost or phantom?

I want a multi-rating function - I like your post because you remembered, I'd like to hug you because you shared, and it's self-evidently informative. And I want to add @Teron in because he started it and made me binge-reading the thing last weekend.

There are plenty of species & races that seem to specialize in medicine, just as much as Ithorians specialize in agriculture or Sullustans specialize in navigation. Recruit a few of those, and our research efforts (and battlefield medicine) (and refugee relief work) should be greatly improved.
You know, is there a reason we can't try to cooperate with the Kaminoans? I mean, they're a planet and people specializing in cloning. We have a Medical Corp. Can we work with them?

Especially since we are hoping to cure the Clones' age degeneration and biochips thing.

Orrrr would that be too partisan of us in the current political climate?

Still. We did want to try out cloned limb replacements a while back, didn't we...

... I'm also kind of curious to see if it'd be possible to apply one of the "genetic engineering" options we have, to Clone armies... ... Specifically, the Miralukan one. Or at least some other Force-sensitive race.

Wasn't there an issue with cloning force-sensitives? And the Kaminoans seem to have a business ethic along the lines 'you get what you pay for', without much (any) restrictions on what they are willing to do. Which sounds like a thing to exploit.

Cloning Force Sensitives never turn out quite right....

Unless the one providing the DNA is dead, but even then, it takes quite a lot of work.

The tendency for mental instability is a bit high. The stronger in the force, the worse the side-effects.

But working with the Kaminoans to help the clones sounds good. If we can pay them more than the Republic does. Wont be a cheap project.

So, seriously, any ideas on how to get Anakin on our side? We need a strong force user for Sidious. 'For' in the sense of 'handling', not 'gift wrapping'.
And do we know IC of the 'chosen' thing? Because, if yes, we might tell the Jedi how utterly stupid they are - the prophecy says something about balance, and who's been in charge for the last few hundred years - the Jedi or the Sith?

Exactly, since the first time I saw the Phantom Menace the I thought that whole bring Balance to the Force thing smell fishy

I mean the most logical conclusion to that prophecy is that Anakin actions , either willingly or unwillingly, are going to cause a great rise in the numbers/power of the Sith and/or a serious downfall in the numbers/power of the Jedi.
