What a peculiar coincidence.

Quite. It's a shame that she didn't stick around long enough to have her maintenance preformed and instead went to the Jedi Council with some baseless suspicions about us being a crime lord. We aren't a crime lord, we are a totally legitimate businesswoman, we just deal in the trade of non-standard goods and preemptively seek to protect our assets against petty thieves and criminals.

..There would be a good mechanic to getting our Starfighters swapped out for Headhunters.

Even when the Headhunters were considered out of date/obselete, people still bought them due to the fact that they still remained one of the best multi role fighters in the galaxy.

There are -dozens- of variants of it due to it's popularity and performance.

Guess what that means?

False Flag and Covert Ops missions up the wazoo.

...Look, I'm going to level with you; much as I'd like to you've already got two more potential Hero Units in the pipeline; I have to stop somewhere.

That being said I might be able to do something more with them in the future. We'll see.

Perhaps something like temporary hero units, like how Gulan tagged along on Kamino. As mentioned before Xruk assembling a team of bounty hunters to kidnap Tann. Or perhaps advisors could get personal improvements like the heroes, like an upgrade to OOM-9 lowers unit upkeep or removes the hard cap on droid units.

The Following is a Non-Profit Fan-Based Parody

Ciaran's scanners picker up small pockets of life on the surface of the seemingly barren planet. Apparently settlements were few and far between. Picking one at complete random, Ciaran exited her ship, wary of any sudden attackers. What she saw were the inhabitants of the planet acting almost insultingly innocent. Children playing, adults farming cabbages, and elders sitting around telling stories to the little ones that weren't occupied with games of tag. It was as if the war had never even found this small planet in the Outer Rim.

"Hey look, a visitor!" said one of the villagers that had gathered around her ship. Apparently they were a species that needed to state the obvious.

"Oh boy, we love visitors!" Ciaran's opinion of these green humanoids dropped by the second, dear Force.

"Now now, don't crowd the young lady." said a native that was more wrinkled than the rest. Between the dignified air of respect around him and the walking staff that seemed more ritualistic than necessary, he seemed like some form of elder. "Why hello good madam. Welcome to our fine village."

"Well you certainly know how to make a woman feel welcome." said Ciaran teasingly.

"You look like you're not from around here." continued the elder.

"Indeed I am not. I came to this planet because I felt that it was strong with the Force. Perhaps the strongest I've ever seen." That much was true. Ciaran could feel the power on this planet from space, and had played a game of space hot and cold to find it.

"You have to be careful. Word through the grapevine has it that some unruly characters have been going around and attacking our villages." Ciaran's jaw almost dropped. Why on Coruscant would these people welcome offworlders with open arms when they were being attacked by offworlders? They were trusting and intelligent enough to realize that the actions of one offworlder need not poison their relationship with others, or trusting and moronic enough to not realize that she might be the same offworlder attacking their villages. "By the way, would you like to see our Dragon Ball? It's our prized possession. Sacred on this planet. So, what brings you too our village?"

Ciaran was dumbfounded. Mother Talzin had needed months of needling and prodding to wear her down to the point that Ciaran was allowed to excavate ruins to find artifacts and relics. And here this elder was simply offering to let her see sacred objects of his people. How lucky could she be?

"I sensed a great power, and was drawn to it. Do you have any idea what it might have been?" inquired Ciaran. After all, they had been stupidly helpful so far. Perhaps the trend would continue.

"It may have been our Dragon Ball. They were created by the magic of our great elder, Lord Guru. When all seven are gathered from the seven villages in times of great crisis, they have the power to grant any three wishes." explained the elder. "They have seen the Namekian people through many difficult times, though we have not had need of them since the Great Drought."

Ciaran's more cautious side tried futilely to temper the excitement as plans filled her head. The fact that the planet was permeated with the Force made perfect sense if it was home to seven artifacts of such great power. Granting wishes! For the first time she could remember, Ciaran's imagination was incapable of creating a plan that could make full use of such power.

"It's become clear that these Dragon Balls are likely what drew me to this planet. You mentioned you would be willing to let me examine it?" probed Ciaran, still certain that this was too good to be true.

"What a coincidence! That's why I bothered to come to this backwater rock as well. Might I be able to take the Dragon Ball as well?" Ciaran turned to see three figures floating down from the sky. The one in the middle was the one who had spoken, and Ciaran estimated that he might come up to her chest if she gave him a stool. To his right was a green humanoid wearing something so flamboyant Galvin would have criticized it. To his left was what could only be described as a humanoid pink blob covered in spikes and wearing the same chest armor as the other three.

"Oh, and who might you be?" asked Ciaran, walking closer so that the difference in height between the two was more pronounced.

"This is why I miss my hoverbubble. Zarbon!" The minion to his right reacted, throwing himself between them on his hands and knees. The diminutive leader then used him as a step so that he and Ciaran were roughly at eye level. "Much better. I am Lord Freeza. I rule over the galaxy, including this planet. Though this is a recent acquisition, so I haven't had time to clear out the trash." A pointed glare past Ciaran to the Namekians made it clear what he was talking about.

"You may be a big name out here in the unexplored regions of space, but back in civilization, I don't think anyone would have heard of you." mocked Ciaran, though she was struggling with how to work a large empire in the unexplored territories into her plans.

"Oh make no mistake, I rule there as well. They simply don't know it yet." His tone was certainly intimidating, but Ciaran wasn't sensing any affinity with the Force. "What planet are you from? I may have to blow it to smithereens for this impudence."

"Hah, I wish you the best of luck. The power to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force." It was a bit of Jedi propaganda, that the Force was more powerful than everything, you just weren't powerful enough to use it like that, but it worked well enough for riling up Freeza. Which usually made people sloppy in negotiations.

"Oh how cute, you think you're people. Dodoria, get the Dragon Ball. Zarbon, deal with this pest." said Freeza as he took off and flew away.

"Right away Lord Freeza!" said his henchmen enthusiastically. Dodoria sprinted past her, moving far faster than anything that fat had any right to while Zarbon got up off his hands and knees, jumping back to put some distance between them. Before Ciaran could react to the violent turn of things, there was a massive explosion behind her. Turning, she saw Dodoria's smoking corpse. "Ugh, it's a trap!" exclaimed Zarbon.

"Well well well, look what the gays dragged in. Fancy being next Zarbon? Because I really want to go three for three." A man hovered in the air, arm extended towards where Dodoria had been downed. He was probably all tall as Ciaran, if just by the height of his hair.

"Make fun all you want, Vegeta. Lord Freeza will reward me handsomely for taking in a traitor such as yourself." said Zarbon, no longer focusing on Ciaran, who took the chance to slink away.

"Oho, confidence! Always my favorite thing to beat out of a punching bag." Ciaran invited herself into one of the Namekian's homes while the two bantered endlessly.

The elder Namekian tapped her on her shoulder, shushing her as she turned around. "I must stay with my people, but I ask that you would take our Dragon Ball and keep it safe. It must not be allowed to be used for the evil these monsters will wish with it." he whispered. One of the other Namekians handed her a massive orange sphere with four red stars inside of it.

Ciaran peeked outside, and saw Vegeta punch Zarbon once before they began talking again. While the two were distracted, Ciaran snuck back aboard her ship and left the planet Namek behind.

AN: Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT are all owned by Funimation, Toei Animation, Fuji TV, and Akira Toriyama. Please support the official release. An AU where this quest was a Dragonball Z crossover the whole time. Not gonna lie, this one was a lot of fun to write. Only four more to go by my count.

And that makes +240.

For the record, if we pick one 'Personal Attention' this turn and double-up on our Research actions, then there will only be 14 actions this turn that would allow for omake bonuses. That'd mean our cap this turn (2 omakes per action) is actually +280. So eight hours left to finish four more omakes.

Okay, given this is somewhat of a cool-down turn before everything starts going to shit, I think it would be best to do as many hero improvement actions as we can squeeze in. I don't know the arcane magyks of the system and how assigning people works, especially coupled with omake stuff, but I figure we can afford to have at least a couple of hero units doing improvement.

We do have a couple mandatory things to do, obvs, namely Wesker and letting grandad rescue Ciaran's cousin, but I think those are the only essential things? Would very much like to do Malachor this turn, before things get too hectic and we can't afford to take Ciaran off aiding an action.

Giving the GM's hints about next turn purchasing the various base Defense Grids and Hidden Defenses upgrades might be in order.

I agree that Ciaran needs more stats. It will allow us to utilise personal attention to even greater effect in the future.

@Dr. Snark, after my earlier question about the 'medical gear/medicine' actions, I was curious to see what their original role was. It looks like there's another asset (with income & upkeep) to add to our front-page balance sheet.

First, we developed Karada-specific medical gear & medicine:
[X] Develop Medical Gear: The Karada Corporation needs equipment distinct from that of the competition, as few as there might be. Both for personal use and modified to personal preferences and to sell. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 60 Reward: Bonus on any action to increase Karada profits, improved possible profit increase

Required: 30 Rolled: 38+10+10=58

The Karada Corporation now produces Medical Gear solely unique to it. It may still not be anything exceptional and mostly coasting on Lady Ciarans name but its still likely to get you some credits once you increase production. Reward: Small bonus on any action to increase Karada profits, improved possible profit increase of +10

[X] Develop new Medicine: The Karada Corporation needs to develop new types of medicine instead of just producing legal knock-offs what allready exists. Either by providing variants speficialy designed for specific species, improving on allready existing types of Medicine or similiar. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 80 Reward: Bonus on any action to increase Karada profits, improved possible profit increase
Required: 30 Rolled: 43+10+10 = 63
The Karada Corporation now produces Medicines solely unique to it, although its only mostly common medicine that simply requires lower dosages. Reward: Bonus on any action to increase Karada profits, improved possible profit increase of +10
This is why the equivalent actions this time around allowed us to develop "Improved" medical gear/medicine -- it's the next tier up in the 'tech tree'.

Next, here's the "action to increase Karada profits" that was mentioned:
[X] Produce Medical-supplies for Wartime: With the war having arrived any PDFs and any armies are going to need any medical supplies they can get... and you are quite sure that you can provide those. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 60 Upkeep: 20 Reward: +80 Income during the War (Income increases with any new developed Medical tech)
Required: 30 Rolled: 25+9+5+5=44
Your Research-Complex has added another building to increase the production of Medical-supplies speficialy intended for the War. Its hilariously profitable.
Reward: +80 Income, will increase with further developed Medical tech
This is what the balance sheet was missing. We receive an extra +80 income for the duration of the war, and lose an extra -20 in upkeep.

In addition, I took a second look at the 'Versuch Labs' base upgrade, and it looks like it provides a small discount for Karada upkeep:
Coruscant:
[X] Research Complex - 'Versuch Labs'. A new medical research center located near your Undercity headquarters, focusing on research in biotechnology and cybernetics. Due to its location in the poorest part of Coruscant, it receives a steady stream of patients in such desperate medical and financial straits that you have no lack of (well compensated) volunteers for medical trials and experimentation. (A bit sketchy, sure, but who cares? The powers that be only rarely spared the Undercity a thought when it was the epicenter of near-continuous gang warfare, and haven't even bothered to show up in person since you took control of the place). This new research site will partner with the main labs at Karada, ensuring that your medical research is completed more rapidly and at less expense than before. Cost: 200 Upkeep: 50 Reward: +1 'Learning' Action per turn (can be used to 'double up' on a single research task, halving the time to completion). Enables research into biotechnology. Small discount on medical upkeep and on any future research actions.

The lab is up and running... and you made sure to send your SANE researchers there to make sure that the dubiousness of what is going to transpire in the research center is being kept to a minimum. You have standards after all. Monetary and medical compensation is also guranteed to the test subjects and communication with Karada is very heavily encripted to ensure that no information about the research center gets out to the wrong people. Reward: +1 'Learning' Action per turn (can be used to 'double up' on a single research task, halving the time to completion). Enables research into biotechnology. Small discount on medical upkeep and on any future research actions.

So, here's what our updated Balance Sheet should look like:
Income: 2085
...
200 (Karada Corporation)
20 (Cybernetics division, Coruscant; Turns 4 & 20)
100 (Research-complex, Coruscant; Turn 11)
80 (Medical Production wing, Coruscant; Turn 13 & 16 -- for the duration of Clone Wars)

Upkeep: -1416
...
-91 (Karada Corporation)
-10 (Cybernetics division, Coruscant; Turns 4 & 20)
-50 (Research-complex, Coruscant; Turn 11)
-20 (Medical Production wing, Coruscant; Turn 13 & 16 -- for the duration of the Clone Wars)
-50 (Versuch Labs, Coruscant; Turn 19)
+26 (Darkroot chemical plant, Kiln; Turn 17 -- 20% discount on Karada upkeep)
+13 (Versuch Labs, Coruscant, Turn 19 -- 10% discount on Karada upkeep

Planetary Assets (by system)
Coruscant, Core Worlds

...
Karada Corporation
- Research-complex & Headquarters
- Medical Production wing
- Cybernetics division (organic squads less likely to die/chance of recovery)
- Versuch Labs (+1 Learning action, biotech)

This also means that, technically, you could keep the "develop improved medicine" and "medical gear" actions as they were, with a reward of giving us +10 income for wartime medical supplies. On the other hand, I like your version a lot better, and I'm actually tempted to pick it (which I wouldn't be for the original).

Two miscellaneous points:
[X] Lightsaber research: With the tidbits of informations you possess and the possibility of gaining the needed crystals it might be an idea to try to create some knock-offs of lightsabers and lightfoils. Its likely that your versions aren't going to be particularly good, but its better than nothing. Chance of Success: 70% Reward: Your Apprentices can create and use Lightsabers

Required: 30 Rolled: 43+5=48

Your men have managed to research basic knock-offs of lightsabers. They are not nearly as good as the real-deal but its as close as it gets for now. Reward: Lightsaber knock-offs available
@Dr. Snark, will we get a chance to follow up on this and learn how to produce high-quality lightsabers?

Also, @fasquardon, I'm looking again at the Coruscant base upgrade, and while your write-ins are interesting, I'm not sure they ultimately benefit us all that much. Specifically, we should remember that Coruscant is Palpatine's center of power, and we've been gradually moving our forces out to Neutral Space -- Mandalore initially, and now this turn to Taris as our (hopeful) capital. Doubling-down on our control of the Undercity might help, but it's still far too close to Darth Sidious for my comfort.
Underworld Takeover: While the Abyss Watchers are a galaxy-spanning organization, their presence on their own homeworld is weak clearing out more of the smaller gangs and consolidating new districts under Abyss Watcher control could have great opportunities. (Increase recruitment rate of Guardians and Seekers, unlocks new options, can be taken more than once. Cost ???.)

The unlockable options would be things like: "Undercity Charities", "Extended Wiretaps", "Expand Security Company", "Regional Strongholds" and "Rolling Takeovers".

Undercity Charities: Cost 200, Lady Ciaran more popular on Coruscant, improved local economy, increased health and skill of undercity citizens.

Extended Wiretaps: Cost 100, improved chance of finding out about any hostile intrigue on Coruscant, and EITHER 25 cr/turn OR "clean up the planet" (reduce corruption, ???) - this cannot be changed after the upgrade is chosen.

Expand Security Company: Cost 100 credits, 5 credits/turn income, +1 Guardian Team recruited per turn and raise Watcher team cap by +1 for each time "Underworld Takeover" has been taken.

Regional Strongholds: Build a fortified base in for each area taken by "Underworld Takeover". Cost ???, effect gain boltholes, Abyss Watchers more resistant to attack.

Rolling Takeovers: Put the task of increasing Abyss Watcher control of the Coruscant undercity in the hands of your underlings each turn gain 1d3 "Underworld Takeover" upgrades per turn. Upkeep is 150% the cost of "Underworld Takeover".
Plus I'm not sure we can afford it this turn. But we'll figure that out with the balance sheet....

Would you be willing to treat the roll as 'how well prepared you are for the mission' (and/or 'how many people you persuaded to join the mission') and use the roll to determine who & how many are available to be brought along? (As in, a decent success (70 or so) would be the threshold to invite (within the mini-arc) hero units that we didn't attach to the original roll, while an 80% might bring along Delta Squad or Darra Thel-Tanis, while a >90 roll might let us invite Anakin and/or Obi-Wan as insurance?)

That's about right, I'll work out the core details when we see the roll. It'd be more like Operation Skyfall than anything else. Though definitely shorter.

Hm, are the Agents proficient in lightsaber usage? Also, how do they compare to your average, non-legendary Jedi?

Finally, are the Republic and the Jedi aware of the existence of Agents and their connection to the Abyss Watchers?

In general your Agents as they are now are about at Padawan level with the Force, if they hit Tier 3 they'd be at the level of your average Jedi. Of course, that's more because they don't spend all of their time training with Force abilities and branch out to be more like commandos than Jedi with training in subterfuge, conventional persuasion, and so on. They rarely use lightsabers, and if they do they're trained enough that they don't accidentally hack their own limbs off.

The Jedi are not familiar with them at all; the Agents are probably one of the most classified secrets in the Watchers since people would ask questions about why you needed your own Force using sect.

Ahhh, gotcha. I think I can do something like that, sure. Though I'm not sure what form they'd take right now; you'd probably see those things next year.

The Following is a Non-Profit Fan-Based Parody

Non-canon obviously, but I still do love the imagery of Ciaran trolling someone who can literally end planets with a gesture. Yes, you get another +10.

@Dr. Snark, will we get a chance to follow up on this and learn how to produce high-quality lightsabers?

You'll need a better blueprint essentially. You have a rough idea of how to put one together but nothing that in-depth.

...we're not a Sith, I swear!

"You have a Sith Holocron."

"It's a piece of art, I have no idea how it works."

"You have a Sith under your employ."

"I prefer to think of Asajj as a 'respected associate.'"

"You have communed with a phantom of a Sith Lord."

"Now that is just being insensitive. Can't a woman commune with Sith Lords without being declared one herself?"

*blinks* Uh...I mean...huh. Okay, I think I've got this; you can, but you'll need an action to formalize the blueprints from his verbal descriptions.
Does Vectivus's mansion have some plans or artifacts he may have collected over the years in his time, cause while he may have wanted money I'm guessing he must have collected somethings as trophies.

Besides, just because she's a Sith doesn't mean she's that bad.

After all, it's perfectly possible to have a Jedi who isn't a sanctimonious, judgemental, narrow-minded, law-obsessed fool, even if they are very rare. Why can't there be a Sith who isn't an arrogant asshole who's evil for no reason?

He does, but it's basically his equivalent to the Vault. Mostly sentimental things he's collected over his lifetime than anything else.
