Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Say, since we own Ardmore Studios, shouldn't we be giving them something to work with like we do with Sunrise Studios as well?

I guess, but to make it worth it we'd need some scripts that either need lots of Irish actors or would work better filmed in Ireland rather then America.
Better start working on some of them then. A movie about Michael Collins is a must. Afterwards, perhaps a Mini-Series about the 1916 Easter Rising. Netflix did one, and we can do it better if we cut some of the melodrama and we focus on the fighters and how it developed.

I'm not the best at writing scripts but we could make a film about the fighting 69th. A Irish regiment from the us civil war there. At least some parts of Braveheart were filmed on the lot in real life so there's that. It happened in England but maybe a film about Boudica's rebellion? Oh do you think we could do a film about The Cattle Raid of Cooley?

Mary's Weekend Project
Mary's Weekend Project:

ILM was not a place for children. Well, small children who were unable to comprehend what they were doing. Which was normal.

However, when it came to Mary and Wally, there was almost nothing that those two children couldn't do. Wally was truly George's son when it came to movies, and he had an eye for not only detail but for just the sheer fun of making something for film.

After all, Wally seemed to know where everything was, and what everything did, and he seemed to be slowly gaining the respect of the VFX guys that were working on the numerous films. He even had ideas that some of them didn't think of, and they worked.

Yet it was also where Mary went to. The Entire props and modeling department loved your little girl, mostly for the simple fact she just managed to help them with problems they didn't even think about. And they let her play with the models and help her build things.

So when you said that both of them were coming so that you could begin planning the effects and battles for Star Wars, the entire damn team were excited, because they knew that those two were a blast to work with, and they had extra time.

Honestly, you didn't know what they meant by that, seeing as most of ILM was working on other films.

But hey, you knew that it was going to be okay, and maybe they would make a model or something.
--------------------------------

Or something indeed. Why was your entire staff filled with people who had too much free time on their hands?

"Hey Daddy, watch this!" Mary screamed as she called out from below, and then you saw it.

It was one of the Robot models… and then you realized that it was something else entirely, it had six wheels and it was moving, connected to a very large extension cord. Riding it like a moon Rover were Mary and Wally, both giggling and cheering as it moved, slowly, across the floor.

Your daughter had built a rover… well at least it wasn't-"

You then saw that she was not controlling it at all. She was riding a robot that was moving by itself.

You facepalmed as George walked over with a mug of coffee. "I told you this would happen."

"It's a robot! How are they even controlling it!"

"Computer controls!" One of the techies shouted, hearing your scream of confusion. "We programmed it to have several movement commands, we type them in, and it executes it. Her designs were brilliant, she seemed to understand the power-"

You wanted to feel pride in the fact your people did it, but you were in anguish. You wanted to have a normal weekend here at ILM. But none of these people were normal, after all, thats why you hired them, they were the best.

But with Mary, and Wally, and the people who you worked with, it seems that nothing else could be done. You had given them two children who were just as gifted as them, who understood things and it made them work even harder and better.

It was inspiring even. But it was going to give you a headache.

Reward: Mary Wally and ILM made a computer-controlled rover. How they did it in two days, no one knows, but hey, they were… able to do it.

You think that someone is going to be making some phone calls about this.

AN: Enjoy.

They created a Weak AI rover...

Fucking Hell what are they feeding these kids?!!
Asimov, Conan, Other science fiction writers.

Chicken nuggets and broccoli...

Also, it's not weak AI.

Computer controlled Rover.

Is it soon for computer-controlled rover compared to irl timeline ?

Computer controlled robots have always been a thing for a while now but if we send to space yes.

Lunokhod 1 was made in 1970 so the idea was there. the soviets always had the advantage in robotics since the us thing always had been humans
the next rover type space craft. would be with the us sojourner in the 90s in mars

But our little daughter just gave us the possibility of achieving parity with the soviets in robotics

So..... I had a thought about how to support our little girl in her desire to go into space.

We have the pull, the money, and influence that we could definitely get Mary a tour of the NASA headquarters and get her some meetings with the scientists.

Also I still want Terry Pratchet to meet Mary. She seems the sort he would delight in meeting and def could be a source of inspiration

Edit: What year is it btw? Because depending on the era Mary meeting a young Neil Degrasse Tyson and helping to further inspire him in his love of astrology would be epic.

Speaking of which Star wars almost certainly had a big impact on him in this timeline
